They only thing to keep in mind while shopping here is the date on the packaging. But don't let that stop you from shopping here. I worked in the snack game and the date on the packaging is only the shelf-life date. This is the date that a company puts on their product to say that it should be sold by this date. It is not an expiration date. As long as the bags aren't open it can last for months past that date. Now just keep in mind once you open the bag you it will go bad much quicker than a brand new bag. They also usually have free samples right by the front door. If you buy something they put a couple snack bags of usually Goldfish in your bag for free.

Luckily, I had an event close to Lancaster that allowed me to make this quick stop to check this place out. It's located next to a Disney outlet store, too! Pepperidge Farm is a classic snack staple in many households, and I was really excited to see what offerings and discounts they had. They had gift baskets, bulk items, discounted Goldfish crackers, cookies and more! My favorite area was the freezer section, where they had puff pastry sheets in bulk (at a fairly good discount), frozen soups, lasagnas, and more. If you end up purchasing their Pepperidge Farm reusable bag and bring it back for future purchases, you get 15% off each time (on top of all discounts). There's plenty of good deals here, as I maybe got about 5 boxes of puff pastry sheets and 5 bags of cookies + goldfish for about $35! The staff here are super friendly and show you around, and there's a lot of interesting flavors and even gift baskets for people to check out. As you walk around, you forget that Pepperidge Farm also makes things like stuffing, bread, and other items. Everything is neatly placed, and it's super relaxing to walk around and browse everything. I have a budget and I like to stick to it. However a friend insisted I come here 15 years ago. Back than I wasn't impressed but did get a good deal - my husband, met him in isle 2! But sadly it was another 13 years before I ever went back. Frustrated with the ever raising costs of groceries and my hatred (yes, strong word but my feelings are strong) for my local Giant I gave them another shot and am glad I did! Since my first visit many moons ago they became more like a regular grocery store, offering more than just snacks and all the departments (meat, diary, canned, produce, etc) that you would find at your local grocer just on a smaller scale. Unlike the old days they now have bags! No more sorting trying to find a box for your loot! I admit I still don't shop here exclusively for my weekly grocery shopping. I'm still a planner and like to go in with a list and leave with every item on it. While you can't do that here you will knock off a good chunk, especially if you are not partial to a particular brand. I have seen flyers from time to time with their specials but don't think it's something they do on the regular so it is hard to plan. You never know what you'll find till you get there. Where they excel is juice (in both price and selection), cleaners (although not cheaper than Dollar General), snacks, and freezer items. I also think their prices and selection are good on cheeses and dairy products although you need to watch the dates closely. Pet food tends to run more and the selection isn't as great. And while they do have a nice, but small produce selection that looks good in the store I'm disappointed 80% of the time on its freshness when I get it home. Organic brands can also be found here, although not as plentiful as other discount grocers. Meats are also hits or miss, some weeks I find hamburger/chicken priced higher than Giant and not looking so good and other times (like this past week) I hit the jackpot with both freshness, selection, and price. I don't know if they take coupons but it's worth looking into. They do however offer a $3 coupon if you sign up for their emails. Be sure to bring a pen to the store as you add your name and phone # to the bottom of the receipt showing the money you saved and they have drawings to double it. There is a clear box for entries at the window by the exit/entrance. This is not common knowledge and something you have to find out on your own. I've never won but typically save in the $65 range on $100 worth of groceries so I'd love to win me some $130 in free groceries! Also...if you see something your family uses on the regular at a good price, stock up! It might be awhile till you find it again. And who knows, maybe if you're lucky you'll leave with a significant other...like I did!

When I am hungry, Turkey Hill is where I will go, especially when I am traveling. There are many hard-working people throughout the various Turkey Hill stores. And, though my many years on this planet has taught me that any store/person can have a bad day, what I can say about the Turkey Hill store at 735 S Broad St in Lititz, PA, is that the store and its personnel are CONSISTENTLY terrific. That consistency keeps me coming back. Every week, I travel to Lititz from my home in Lebanon County, and in over 3 1/2 years, I have never been disappointed with the service at this Turkey Hill. Of course the counter can be busy at certain times, but that is because the store is popular. The manager, June, is very personable and ready to help, and personnel such as Jess, are very hard-working and have, on certain occasions, impressed me with their ability to multi-task. The overall atmosphere of the store is upbeat, and SPECIAL DECORATIONS during the numerous holidays make the store a special place to drop in quickly or sit at the tables, dine in, and just take it easy. In short, this is, in my quasi-humble opinion, the best Turkey Hill store in the tri-county region. I highly recommend patronizing this Turkey Hill and, if possible, slow down and enjoy the store.

About two weeks ago I went there to get gas. After a few cents worth going in my tank, it stopped…read more I went into the turkey hill where there were two guys behind the counter and told them the issue. They said this happened to a previous customer. He asked if I got the cheap stuff. I said no I got the middle one. Neither seemed to know what to do and said they might have to call someone if it happens to someone else. I was in a rush so I said I would try a different grade. I went out and the higher grade worked. Meanwhile two other customers were having the same issue and I went to tell them the issue instead of the employees coming out. Hopefully they actually put a sign out there for future customers but not betting on it. Now it is two weeks later. I am hoping that the previous issue is a one time deal. I pull in, get out of my car and when I go to put my card in I notice a small note in maybe 12 pt font that says they are temporarily out of gas. That should be a big sign as to not waste our time. That should be on the big sign where the prices are. I saw 4 other cars pull in after me so I was not the only one wasting my time. They really need to get their act together. If this is going to be a regular issue I will take my business up the street.
