i'm sorry but this needs to be updated and down graded. it was generally seen as one of the nicest markets in the area but management has totally screwed that over. They are doing renovations to the place. Some seem to be moving the check out counters 12 inches to the right and other seem to be updating bathrooms or god knows what but they have been going on for months now and while it is projected to be over by november, staff have quietly told me they don't htink it will be done until next year so needless renovations and not even a straight answer for management. The other issue that has set me off is they are rearranging where to find stuff. The reason behind this is they want people to have to look for stuff they used to know where it was and maybe they will make more impulse buys. There are three issues with this. 1) this is going on over the course of weeks what should have been done quickly is drawn out. A management type told me there were green signs at the end of each aisle to help customers find things BUT I caught her telling the same thing to a staffer, so clearly their own people are confused by it all. 2) It's a mess. stuff is being kept on temporary, rolling shelving. For weeks at a time, sort of 'well we got it out of lane 12 now where do we put it? guess we'll work it out some day.' and often, in the middle of the day staff are moving stuff, not late at night when there's little traffic but them iddle of the day with lanes effectively barricaded against customers going down them. They've set up greeting card, SOME greeting cards opposite the freezer section. gee paper products near all that moisture, what could possibly go wrong. 3) As a regular shopper I lay out my shopping list in a rough order of where stuff is in the store, so i can just work down the list. With them rearranging stuff this is no longer working and often I've passed stuff. I get, for example to where soda is supposed to be and it's not there. I'm not going to go hunting for it, i'm going to another store to buy it and This is what should worry giant's management the most. Customers will go elsewhere, like wegmans for food, once you lose a client, they may not be back! I was so flustered last week with the mess my list was in I forgot to buy rolls, and they hadn't moved. I bought them elsewhere. will I buy your rolls in the future? give me a reason to. read more

This store is about twice the size of the giant right by new Britain, however the company decided to have the same amount of staff at this location. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the staff here despite having what seems to be no support from their company, however this location is not properly staffed. There is such an amazing selection of new products and foods all the time here, but nothing on endcaps or fixtures are labeled because they probably don't have the time or energy to get the job done while corporate cuts costs and allows their workers to suffer. read more

Very old flowers, Poor customer service I called to report the experience of my husband bringing me roses: when I opened them, down rained all of the leaves and many of the petals. Imagine our disappointment. I did say how this was yet another department where they are apparently not keeping things fresh. Because of several times getting very smelly fish from them, we no longer trust their fish. Now we can't trust the flowers? All I got was a very robotic response about returning them. I've heard more heart from a computer-generated response. When my husband took the flowers back he got a refund. And that's it. Customer service needs to learn how to apologize. read more

I've had issues with the deli personnel for years. There are no closed signs or hours posted. I was there tonight and pressed the button to get a number. The one guy who was out front ignored me like I wasn't there. Okay fine, I'll use the kiosk. I placed my order on the kiosk and went to look at some produce. I made my way back over toward the deli, where the guy yelled at me that the deli was closed. He could have told me nicely when I first got there, instead of reacting angrily. How dare I try to order something when there is nothing to indicate that they are closed. Terrible customer service. read more

AWESOME DECORATORS AT THE BAKERY HERE!!!!! I ordered a Pac-Man cake and all I asked for was a cake with Pac-Man and the 4 ghosts on it, but the decorators really went above and beyond decorating it!! I called in the order the day before I needed it and they accepted the order with no problems. I asked for a quarter sheet cake that was half chocolate and half vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and got exactly that, except they also added a layer of chocolate buttercream on top to emulate the original Pac-Man screen which had a black background. I really, really love and appreciate their attention to detail and couldn't be happier with this cake!! I really can't thank them enough for this because it was just really, absolutely perfect and I would definitely come back here for any cake decorating needs! :) read more

I wrote a review about my experience with Giant before.I thought I had solved the problem by going late to the store. Today however I needed some insect spray so I went into the store in late afternoon. Unfortunately, I got in the checker line rather than the self check. A couple jumped in front of me. Then along comes a checker telling me that I have to get in the self check line. I explained due to age and health issues that I could not do it. He insisted so I had to leave all my groceries and vacate their wonderful store. I am sorry Giant cannot be kinder to its elderly customers. I am unable to order online due to their backup of orders. This particular giant store delivers some of the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. On my many occasions I have felt like I'm bothering people that are there to do a their job at their selected place of employment. I had a $25 gift certificate from my job that I was unable to use to purchase my grocery items. I have used this type of certificate before at other giants without an issue. This giant always makes a big production about me using it. They behave as if the $25 is coming out of their pockets. The manager on duty, Clint was so non caring and inconsiderate when I attempted to explain how the certificate is used. With the price of groceries nowadays every little bit of help counts. I work for a large company that gives these certificates out. Many of my coworkers are able to use their certificates at this very location without a problem. But I am always made to be a spectacle. read more

Located in Montgomery Square in Montgomeryville Pa, this is one of the biggest Giant food stores I have ever been too. I have been in this store before (to use the coinstar) but this was the first time I got to walk around and shop here. Not only is this Giant large, clean, has plenty of stock, has friendly employees and has plenty of parking, It's located in a convenient location too! What I like most about this Giant is it has its own section for beer/wine and it's own section for Ice Cream too which I've never seen at any other Giant or food store. This can be said for the departments too, they are each large, filled with many products and feel like their own thing. It's a great Giant, and although I live 30 minutes from Montgomeryville (on a good day) I would definitely make it a point to come back up here and shop here again! read more

Giant used to be my go-to store, but in recent years, their prices have gone up significantly and their products do not match the increase! I once took home a salmon filet (enough to feed 10ppl) which had a 'see by' date of 4 days prior to purchase, yet upon cooking it we were getting a horrible smell. I had check my garbage to ensure it wasn't that. Once the salmon was done cooking it was blaringly obvious to me AND my guests that the smell was the salmon. Super embarrassing and expensive. On two occasions I bought lunch meat for my husband which did not last 4 days before having to throw it away. Same with produce. I have on multiple occasions bought produce, especially Broccoli Rabe and it 'yellows' within 3 days. I do not care to spend $800 a month for TWO people only to have the groceries sour within a few days. I am swearing off Giant for good. Just wanted to post as a warning to anyone thinking they will get fresh food and good quality. read more

Every single time I go to this giant they are out of all the basics that I need. Every time. They're shelves are always so empty. It's so frustrating because I love shopping at giant to get the gas points and this location is super close to my home. But at this point, it's time to switch supermarkets because I can't continue to go to multiple grocery stores to check off my shopping list. And enough blaming covid for the emptiness because if I go to Redners down the street, they have all the things I was looking for that Giant did not. read more

This is my favorite Giant. Pros: It's clean, organized and great selection. I've had food problems twice and I emailed the company. The store manager, both times, emailed me back and addressed the problem within 24 hours. Cons: You can zip, zip, zip through the store, fly to the register, and it seems like no matter what time it is, there's looooong and sloooooow lines. Full serve or self-serve. When I worked in a store, we had to punch the price in by hand and had to be faster than how slow the grocery is scanned across the laser at Giant. Beep............... Beep .............. Beep. And they need a better system for the 8 piece fried chicken special. There are never any in bags and you can't get the special price if you bag it yourself. We were told you don't have to take a deli number. Just ask behind the counter for someone to get it for you. There's always people waiting for deli service. It's rude to "butt in line". Maybe you need a bell or something. Absolute worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. read more

During my March 18, 2021 visit at the Knapp Rd location I asked the employee to ring me up for three cases of water. He asked me where the water is. I told him I will ask customer service to bring it to the front once my order was complete. He said I should have carried it up at check out. I said if I could have done it, I would have. I went to customer service to ask for assistance during my shopping no one was at the counter. He was very insensitive to my plight and we had an exchange. I asked him if he had a number he could call or could he go to the customer restricted area to get help. He said it do not work that way, I said sir you do not have any way of getting in contact with someone to assist me. He said it do not work that way here at giants. He then asked me do you work for Giant's to tell him how we are supposed to get in touch with customer service. The exchange went down from that point on. The customer service rep eventually walked up and assisted with getting the water. Meanwhile waiting for the water, the cashier kept trying to escalate the situation to get a reaction from me to justify his behavior towards me. I was not pleased with how I was treated so I did my grocery shopping at Walmart on March 29,2021 to avoid the worker because I see the same staff when I do my routine shopping. Fast forward I came to the store this morning April 7, 2021 approximately 7:15 (usual time). I noticed every time I would come out of an aisle that was close to the cashier he would leave his station to appear as if there was no one working and I would go to self-checkout ( assumption... human behavior). So, I decided to do both of us a favor and go to self-checkout. Well that was not a good idea. I asked a question about mix match strawberry / blueberry offer. Before I could complete my sentence, the woman said if that is what it says that is what it is. I stopped, looked her in her face and then excused myself. I left my cart at self-checkout, as I was leaving the area, she attempted damage control and proceeded to get the circular to "assist". I went to my vehicle called the store while sitting there, explained my experience to the manager and asked for corporate information. I came back into the store and customer service handled the transaction. I do not expect exceptional service however I feel that some staff feel that I am not even worthy of basic customer service. Am I not privileged enough to request basic assistance? I pay attention to a lot of things and I ignore most of it but some of the staff behavior is very blatant and I do not believe it is a representation of the brand. ALL customers should be treated with the same level of respect regardless to staff personal views. I am writing this concern to bring awareness just in case another customer has this experience the pattern will be documented. I will submit reviews to expose the mannerisms of these employees and hopefully the company can use this concern as a teaching moment. I do not have to look handicap, old or any other category to be treated with decency. I choose to spend my hard-earned money at this establishment and I expect to be treated the same as any other customer. read more

Absolutely the best Giant in the surrounding area. Open 24 hours, it has a bottle shop (!) so you can pair your groceries with a craft beer (bottle shop not open 24 hrs though). It also has a sushi, salad, and sandwich bar. The produce is par for the course--fresh, a good selection, average Giant prices--but what's not par for the course are their extensive offerings of organic, gluten-free, vegan groceries. They have a whole multi-aisle section for it, with some products even Whole Foods doesn't carry. Love this store. read more

Have caught the cashiers numerous times keeeping coupons, switching them out with lesser coupons that were NOT mine, not scanning the gas point bonus coupons...Spoke to the manager numerous times, NO changes..still happens... This Giant store is the biggest in the area, open 24 hours (great for night owls). Clean, organized and carry more variety of products than the smaller Giants. Staff is very helpful and if product is not on shelf they will check in back for you. I use both regular check outs and self checkout (which is great for a few items to get in & out). So far all the cashiers I've had are all very nice and polite. I will continue to shop at this bigger Giant with convenient 24 hours opening. read more

This is the best Giant that I've been to. I live in Philadelphia but work in North Whales and this Giant is much nicer than the ones I regularly visit in philly. I love that this store has the scan it handheld scanners so you can scan your groceries as you shop and checkout super fast. read more

Have been shopping hear for years and really ready for a change. The meat is not great often find the chicken border line ok. The new layout is ridiculous they have paper products in so many different aisles it is maddening. Why put frozen food across from paper goods, than make you go three aisles down for the remaining items. I often forget items if not written down due to this dis organization of the store. The fruits and veggies not as fresh as usual :( THE BAGS PLEASE is anyone else out there over getting your bags half way in the house and find food all over, I even tried paper with plastic and they are close to invisible lol, this alone makes me want another store. Wholefoods bags are awesome and I never have that issue, I think Giant is just getting to cheap sorry to say. read more

I've seen better service. The produce has fruit flies in it, the meat and seafood taste gainey, and the service associates are unknowledgable. And the new remodel is ridiculous. There is absolutley no room for you to walk during a Sunday shop. the remodel just made everything conjested. Today was the last day I spent a dime at this Giant or any other. The baggers have been clueless for a long time. historically, you give them reuseable bags, then either they ignore you and use the plastic anyway, or act indignant that I am inconveniencing them somehow with the reuseable bags. This evening, after I unloaded the groceries onto the belt, the bagger very aggressively yanked the cart out of my hand and aggravated a shoulder injury. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional and should be nowhere near a customer service related job. Poor, ignorant & harassing behavior towards customers by employees. I shop later at night because of disability- stocking employee was dropping stock loudly where ever I walked in one aisle & made staring eye-contact. I left that aisle & got away from that. Female floor cleaner came along banging into shelves - I got myself out of that store. Not one word out of them only glares. My neighbor, told me of his incident with a Giant employee. He was just getting s few things on Sunday afternoon & had his ear phones in. An, approx age of 18, male employee interrupted him & said " some lady customer was missing her headphones just like his". (They are ear bud type.) And "they are just like yours ". He told this employee of course they're his. The employee said "you can go". Outrageous behavior by employees for no reason & without reason. Other neighbors had different issues with that store & employees & several will gladly shop elsewhere - Wegmans - Redners, this place stinks. read more
