Best experience dining ever we've ever had. We were celebrating our one year wedding anniversary. The food and service were amazing as well as, the beautiful ambiance mountain views. The owner waited on us and gave us a free entree to try with our dinners as well as, several new types of wine to try. He was very personable and taught us all about the different wine pairings. The eggplant Parmesan was the best we've ever had. I had the chicken Parmesan with pasta with a creamy Parmesan rosemary sauce. It was so delicious. The chicken had a grilled flavor to it with an amazing crunchy texture and the sauce was on point with plenty of cheese. My husband got the mushroom risotto. They didn't skimp on the mushrooms (4 types) and it had a wonderful texture and earthy taste. We also had the saffron arinchini (probably spelled incorrectly) and it was great. Found this place due to a backup at the I-75/24 interchange, had to find a way around that mess and easy access to some place for lunch. This place is a few yards away from the I-24 on ramp heading to Nashville. Bonus!!! The meal was Delicious, with a capital D. We had a bruschetta and a caprice salad for our starters. No disappointment on either. The balsamic glaze flavor stood out as well as the fresh produce and herbs. We had the lasagna béchamel and rigatoni gorgonzola for our entree. The lasagna had a delightful crispy cheese crust on the top layer. The sauce was fresh and full of flavor. The layer of ricotta was very sparse, the flavor was nice we just wanted more of it. The rigatoni had the most amazing sauce, a little acidic, a little sweet, a little creamy, so so so satisfying. The peppers were so fresh and booming with flavor. The sausage was fine, underwhelming but wasn't out of place. The rigatoni was our favorite of all dishes. The host was quirky upon first interaction but by the time we were seated (which was immediate) he came off as overplaying a stage roll that honestly was off putting, in my opinion. Our server was very knowledgeable about the offerings and told us the specials. She was enthusiastic, bright, and appropriately present as well as appropriately absent. Our meal came out timely with an acceptable measure of time between courses. Our glasses were never empty. She bussed the table of any finished dishes each time she was at the table. Cloth napkins, water glasses, and appetizer plates were waiting for guests at every table. Cloth napkins and water glasses always impress upon me. Nice touch. Thank you for not making ask for plates for shareables! The following explains my 4 star versus 5 star review (in addition to the awkward behavior from the host). None of what I am about to write would keep me from dining here again. I would eat here weekly if I lived in the area. The front of the building and the parking lot is rundown or maybe weathered is a better description. It is in no way a measure of what culinary pleasure paired with simple, but noticeable, details that await once inside. In saying this remember it didn't deter us from giving it a chance but, I could see how others would pass it up based on first glance. Even in the weathered state of the building I found that extra effort to create a welcoming environment. Among the potted garden areas you will find wrought iron conversation seating making for a nice place to wait if needed or for a spot to step away for smokers. There is plenty of outdoor seating on a large covered patio. This patio, every table on it, and every place setting on every table were spotless! This seems to be the treasure of this place. High vaulted roof with exposed beams, garden lighting, ceiling fans, phenomenal view, worthy of a special event. Not one dusty or pollen laden chair, no spiderwebs tucked away in corners or plants or the ceiling. Attentiveness I have never managed to accomplish on my deck at home. This little gem reminded me of dining in Europe, mostly low key, casual, individually owned, restaurants with many personal touches. read more

My wife and I had an unexpected date night so we came here for our first visit. I had rigatoni with sausage and peppers, she had penne with mushrooms and eggplant. Taste and presentation were great, although the temperature was just warm and I suspect they were served up on cold plates. It was busy but there was no wait, and the servers were bustling the whole time. There is a nice patio for outdoor seating in pleasant weather. We were seated at a small two-top beside the bar, which was fine, although the bleach smell from the two buckets of cleaning water sitting on the foot ledge of the bar with dirty rags draped over their edge did impact the ambiance a bit. This is our favorite restaurant in Chattanooga. We have never had a mediocre meal here. Everything they serve is beyond delicious! The chef is to be commended for his choices and preparation! They source local meats, cheese and produce where possible and you can tell! This last week, we got the cantaloupe with prosciutto for an appetizer. It was the most delicious thing I have eaten in a long time! My husbands favorite meal is the Veal Chop! It is mouthwatering and so tender, it can be cut with a knife. I could go on and on. We dined here for a special occasion, a birthday, and chose them because we could make a reservation. We had no recommendations to go by. The restaurant was pretty full, which indicated the food must be good. (Parking was not adequate for the amount of business they have.) Service was fairly prompt and our waiter was pleasant. I asked what he recommended, and his answer was knowledgeable and helpful. I chose the salmon, one of his recommendations, and noodles with a cream sauce as a side. The served bread and dipping oil for a starter, and it was good. Our food arrived hot and cooked just right. We all agreed it was delicious! I think my salmon was the best I've ever eaten! You wouldn't know this place was an amazing fine Italian restaurant if you were passing by the outside! Located on a mountain ridge, Giardino is a true gem. I was looking for a spot for my partner and I to have a late Valentine's dinner, and this place seemed to have the most consistent 5-star rating! I made reservations for 5:30PM, but I think we could have easily been sat at this time if we had not made reservations. They have an extensive wine list, along with beer (domestic and craft) and seasonal cocktails. We ordered the Sangria, which was a perfect blend and was not too sweet like some places! They have a few appetizers options, including a meat&cheese board (charcuterie, if you will), bruschetta, fried calamari, etc. We chose to get salads instead, opting for the caesar and insalata di casa (house salad). Both were dressed well and were a good portion size. They brought us bread and oil too. For our entrees we chose the chicken alfredo and lasagna con béchamel. The chicken alfredo was perfect! I love that they use tagliatelle pasta, and it was cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. The lasagna was great and had the perfect ratio of pasta to filling. If we had to point out one flaw for the entire meal, it would be that the lasagna was a bit cool around the outside edges while the middle was warm. Overall, the service was exceptional and the food was just as amazing as the reviews make it out to be! 100% gives this new Italian spot a try if you are in the area! read more

As a vegan, my options were limited to two or three, and the pasta dish that I selected was mediocre. This is one of the best meals I've had in Chattanooga, and the lasagna is one of the best things I've eaten, period. They've done so much with the space, and it was a lovely experience. The bolognese was similar to the bolognese I've eaten in Bologna, which is the highest praise I can think of. The bruschetta has a ricotta burrata blend that's soooo good. The wine selection is exceptional, and there was a sommelier (I think, possibly just a great manager or server!) who brought us a few to try, all of which were amazing. It's priced fairly and the service was quick and polite. We are so excited to have a great restaurant in this space! It's so close to our home that we will be there very often. Saw several friends post about enjoying the food, so made a friend date to give a try. The ambience is casual, with a dark sage colored walls, red booths or simple table and chairs, with the bar centrally located. Friend ordered red wine, caesar salad and their pasta with Bolognese sauce. Everything came in good sized portions, which is nice bc it seems nowadays you get too much or just a bite. Friend said the Bolognese was good, with a subtle flavor, and the pappardelle noodles were good. I decided to order all of the antipasti (except the charcuterie plate) and a mixed drink. I had a basil vodka gimlet and thought it was perfect for this hot, summer evening. I LOVED, LOVED the melanzane. It comes in 2 generous portions (imo). The eggplant is lightly fried and the cheese/prosciutto inside compliments it so well. I really, really liked the fried calamari and the white aioli dipping sauce, especially bc I was able to eat it! Typically restaurants have shellfish fried in the same area, but not here. The batter was light and the seasoning wasn't too overpowering. I thoroughly enjoyed the arrosto di maiale. It was very light, with great, subtle flavors blending nicely. My final antipasti was the bruschetta, 3 nice size pieces of bread covered in a cheese sauce, blistered tomatoes, and basil. It was my first experience to have bruschetta with creamy cheese covering the top, so I wasn't expecting it. I will definitely need to try it again to form a stronger opinion of it.
