Like Gia's. Nice little place in downtown O'Fallon, simple pizza place vibe inside, thin crust pizza solid. Beer choices not extensive but ok (thank you for offering beyond the AB stuff, the world is over it!) Online access a bit of a challenge. No url on Yelp, menu incomplete. Found their website (outside Yelp) and it's pretty elementary. Cannot access a menu unless you go thru pages for ordering online. As a pizza place I imagine they do decent carry out and delivery volume- recommend they put a little money into their online presence as I believe it should pay for itself. I love a good local establishment. The location is cute, and there was a decent amount of street parking available on a Saturday night. I ordered a large pepperoni and a full-size Gia's salad to go. The pizza was a generous size and tasted great, although it stuck to the pizza box and got soggy pretty quickly. There was also a mixup where the kitchen thought the salad was a small/side order, but the young woman getting the order for me noticed the error and had them fix it. The salad was very good with lots of toppings, although the sweet Italian dressing I selected ended up being too sweet for my palate. Vibe inside was very easy-going. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd be happy to bring my family here for dinner. read more

I came in at noon on Sunday and there was one other table but it was otherwise totally empty. 1 manager and 2 servers were working and were more concerned with talking to each other than their customers. We've given this place three chances. The first visit was great, but the last two have been disappointing. On our second attempt, we couldn't even place a carryout order. The third time, we used their online ordering system and placed an order at 12:30 PM on a Friday for a 5:30 PM pickup. When we arrived, they had completely forgotten our order also note I called after I placed my order to make sure we were good to go and which I was told they received it and added the note for the sauce on the side. After finally receiving it, we took it home only to find that it was poorly prepared--cheese barely melted, as if they rushed to fix their mistake, and the toasted ravioli was overcooked. Frustrated, we decided to return the food, get a refund, and head to PaPPo's instead, where we had a much better experience. Unfortunately, we won't be giving this place another try. I wish we could recommend it, but based on our experiences, we just can't. Hopefully, others have better luck. read more

They are rude if ordering by phone and they are worse if at a table inside. The so called waitress Luna says the customer must have situational awareness. If they cannot handle the work load and the manager is not aware of the situation they can bet more customers will never come there again. Our group all ordered the lunch specials, some with pizza and some with sandwiches. Side salads are pretty big with LOTS of bacon and pepperoni on it. I'm not a pork eater and wish I'd known. House dressing was sweet and yummy. Personal pizzas were well reviewed and looked good. I had half a Turkey sandwich and it was average. They were out of chips on the side with no substitute available, which was weird because that's a simple trip to the store. Bread was greasy and turkey/cheese weren't all the way hot and were kind of mid-warm. Soda was disgusting/flat/brix was off. If I went back I'd try pizza. Service was fine. read more

Update: Since our first trip to Gia's we've been back several times. The food quality has gotten a lot better since they first opened. I definitely recommend this hometown pizza joint. We eat there about once a month or every other month. Original: Gia's is somewhere between a hometown pizza joint and a hipster place. Overall it was pretty average. The food was ok. I had a supreme pizza. Some of the ingredients, like the green peppers, were huge. I they'd been chopped a little more. My wife ordered the cheese bread. It was basically a cheese pizza with no sauce. We were expecting a little more garlic flavor. We had ranch to dip it in -- it was from a bottle. Despite ordering a couple small thin crust pizzas, it took about 30-45 min to get our food. Pretty long considering the place wasn't horribly busy. The service was good though. I moved away from the Southern Illinois area several years ago, but when I lived there Gia's was one of my favorite pizza restaurants, due to the freshness of the vegetables on the pizza, the great thin crust and the generous amount of toppings placed on the pizza. I was in town for a short visit, so I decided to order Gia's due to the high quality of their pizza. Their pizza has always been a little pricey, but in my opinion the quality matched the price. Unfortunately, this was my first visit in over a year and the pizza did not have the same quality I experienced in the past. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT! They do not honor their pricing from their Website. I ordered carryout for their Weekend Special which was listed for $30 plus Tax on their Company Website. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up/pay, I was told it was $35 before tax. When I showed the Manager their Website page listing it as $30, she said " I told the Owner a week ago to update that, but he has not. She then stated there was nothing she could do to credit me the difference. As a Manager, you should have the ability to make anything right for a customer. It was not about the $5, which I would have gladly put toward the team tips. The bottom line is this-you have a price on your site as one number and charge your customer a higher number when they come to pick up and are not willing to make it right! I love the Gia's Salad but they give you 2 approx. 1 oz servings of dressing for a really large salad. I need to ALWAYS REMEMBER to order more extra dressing.
