The cheese, butter and other things that I used to buy here are not in the store anymore. It's just sad to see this happen in our little community.

It is a better quality of popcorn and has a great flavor, but I am not thrilled about the ingredients. One potential concern with Palo Popcorn is with silicon dioxide. Some research suggests it may trigger GI problems, such as leaky gut syndrome, as well as DNA and cell damage when ingested long term. More research is needed. There is Maltodextrin in Movie Theater Butter, popcorn. Some evidence also shows that maltodextrin can change gut bacteria. This is important to note because research has shown that gut bacteria play an important role in our health. One study found that maltodextrin can increase the number of "bad" bacteria and decrease the number of "good" bacteria in the gut. This leads to a weakened immune system and increased risk of disease. For example, maltodextrin increases the growth of E. Coli bacteria, which may have a role in causing Crohn's disease This means if you're at risk for Crohn's disease or other gastrointestinal problems, you may want to limit maltodextrin in your diet. We walked away with a Bobs frozen pizza that had simple ingredients and turned out to taste pretty good, although it had a lot of cheese, and some Italian sausage for future homemade pizza or pasta. There is some playground equipment outside, and a large path leading to the store, which I suspect someone may have mistaken for a driveway before, since there was a sign clarifying that it was not, indeed, a driveway. There's a sausage outside you can pose with if you'd like, and a large Adirondack chair. If you're nearby and like sausage, Wisconsin products, or Johnsonville, it's worth a stop.

It was a bit on the pricier side, but seemed to fit the vibe of the store and clientele. I got a matcha in the morning (a bit grainier than I like) and a protein shake in the afternoon since I missed the 3pm food cutoff (which was a little chalky for my taste). The service was a bit slow and unfocused, so I ended up waiting a bit both times. I loved that they had complimentary samples of food and drink out - and both were delicious! Our friends that ate breakfast and lunch here raved about the food, but I wasn't able to get anything besides drinks during our stay.

They also have a remarkable wine/liquor and beer section with so many unique spirits to chose from. All this is pretty remarkable for a small grocery store. The people who work there seem to be much more invested in their job compared to a regular chain grocery store. (And are mostly adults) Yes, the cost is most likely higher than big box, but to me it's worth (at least once in a while) a few more bucks to have better choices and great service.
