I was traveling into Worcester and stopped by to get some food for my puppy. I came in thinking it was just another pet store & after explaining that my little chihuahua has been a picky eater lately, the gentleman helped me pick out a brand (new to me & pup) that he gives his own chihuahuas. A little nervous but I purchased it. After 2 days, my pup is eating it voluntarily and really enjoys it, thank you thank you thank you!! I come to Gibson's Natural Pet to get all my rabbits essentials including her toys and pellets. I'm sure if I didn't buy her hay in bulk from a farm, I would buy it here as well. I did lots of research two years back on prices of EVERYTHING and you can not beat Gibson's prices. As for dog and cat things, I don't know the prices or how comparable they are but I'm sure they are just as inexpensive. On some of my rabbits toys, Gibson's sells them for HALF the price of what big box stores sells them for. They have a rewards card so if you spend enough, you will get rewards which includes money back on purchases! Win-win in my book! read more

I brought my dog for daycare about 6 times. I left because one of the staff members hurt my dog and then came out very aggressively telling me that I needed to train him better. I was picking up my dog around 6:30pm, and was waiting for them to bring him out. While waiting, I heard my dog cry like he'd been hurt. Then, I heard a woman scream with anger; I couldn't make out the words. Everyone in the front heard, and the staff member running the cashier turned off the monitor which had a camera feed to the play area. The woman then came storming out of the back and told me aggressively that I need to train my dog to be held by his collar. My dog's harness was put on backwards, and it was clearly pinching him. As I was trying to fix his harness, I told them that I do pull him by the collar and that she probably hurt him when she put the harness on backwards. He has never snapped at me before, and has had the harness most of his life. She was very angry and wouldn't take any responsibility for hurting my dog. I was so angry when I left and concerned for my dog, and for the next couple days, I tried to replicate what happened at home, pulling him by the harness and collar. He never reacted negatively; he just looked at me strangely. I did everything, except put his harness on backwards because I was afraid he would get hurt again. My dog has been in doggy daycare for most of his life, and he's never had an issue. I concluded therefore that the staff member hurt my dog and then blamed me for poor training. My dog's been to two training courses. I removed my dog from their daycare and do not recommend them. Instead of of one star, I'm giving them 2 stars because the other staff members were very nice and sweet to my dog. It's too bad that this one staff member hurt my dog and ruined my experience with them. I'm very saddened by what happened, but when you choose a daycare, you trust that they will always take care of your dog. For me, Gibson's Natural Pet failed. read more

I had my dog groomed here. They did a beautiful job especially with 65lbs of fussy! He was so fluffy and his nails were perfect!

First of all, no one EVER gets 5 start. But I would give Gibsons 4.5 (Except Yelp doesnt allow it) We have been bringing our Lab here for several years. She always returns happy, clean and well cared for. I know there have been jaded reviews and I took those into consideration before we Chose Gibson's. First of all, to the family who lost animals in the unfortunate accident I truly am sorry and my heart goes out to you. Unfortunately accidents do happen and they are the exception to any rule. It's a terrible loss and painful. But it does not affect every customer. Gibson's has boarded, groomed and cared for our dog and we have always been very happy with the service, the facilities and prices. Before making our choice, we toured several facilities in the extended area (Gibson's is nearly a 40 minute ride for us). The rest were of course nice. but the cleanliness, staff and facilities here were the overall winners. We recently became grandparents and as we were awaiting the arrival of our grandson Bob Gibson himself gave us his personal contact information in informed us that even if we were to need to drop her off after hours, we could contact him and he would be happy to help us out. This is not the sort of service I expected, I was absolutely floored and amazed that he would do this. Caring is an understatement. We will continue to use their facilities and we will do so, likely for as long as we have animals. Give them a fair shot. take a tour of the place and see what you think then. Don't let someone else's negativity stop you from using one of the nicest facilities in the area. read more

Gibsons is one of those shops that due to location, moon alignment and/or other factors that are a mystery to me thinks they think they are gods gift to customers. Nothing could be further from the truth: Pros: - They offer a doggie cam, which for some owners is a big deal. - They also have a large selection of pet supplies. Cons: - The staff could care less about your pet and arbitrarily decide who gets to stay at thier tiny daycare - There pet supplies are 10-20% more expensive then local competitors - The owner/s are not engaged with thier customers and give thier staff carte blanche to apply rules as they see fit regardless of facts. - They have limited daycare room given zoning and prioritize dog clientele based off staff interactions. Basically taking full priced customers over discount customers because of the space issues. Overall verdict: Keep looking, there are day cares within 5 miles that are not only less money but offer better services and prices on pet supplies. read more

I went in with a list of what I needed and had just a few questions about my dog. The woman I spoke with was very thorough and helped me out with not only picking out treats but also helping me know that they also have a day care and grooming center as well. I'm so happy I found this place! They have high quality food, toys, organic tear free shampoo... And they have a reward system. I'd rather take them to a quality knowledgeable center then just your average pet center with unenthusiastic employees. read more

I have shopped at Gibson's for several years and yesterday (April 12 @ 6) had a horrible experience and won't be returning. I was getting out of the car and walking around to grab my pup when I heard an associate yelling obscenities "I can't believe this &#%#$%." The back bays were open where they have the daycare pups. After the associate's rant, you heard a yelp from a pup. I would not leave my pup under their care. I went inside to find three young girls working the register. Not one acknowledged us and continued chatting amongst themselves and yawning; clearly not interested in our business. I won't be returning. read more

I have brought my dog here multiple times for grooming and have experienced a pattern of poor customer service and client communication. As someone that has worked in the industry for years and a current veterinary student, I'm appalled by the way they treat their customers. Carries a good variety of high end pet food, natural treats, toys and accessories for cats, dogs and small animals. Friendly staff and good customer service. Also has grooming and dog daycare. Our dog has been going to the daycare once a week for a couple of months now and loves it. They screen the dogs for temperament and have at least one employee with the dogs at all times, so we feel very comfortable leaving him there. He gets very excited when we tell him that is where he is going and he comes home happy and tired. read more

We love this store. Our dog goes to the daycare once or twice a week and she has a great time. They also allow you to watch the dogs remotely over video. They always have someone watching and playing with the dogs. Very friendly staff, huge selection of animal foods/treats and toys. I would highly recommend. read more

Today I recieved a call from Bob the owner of Gibson's. I can tell you that although I wasn't thrilled with his cut I do know he is a extremely nervous and can be very high strung, and given the fact that he has never been to Gibson's for grooming that could have added to the grooming problem. Bob was sincerely apologetic, offered to re-groom our dog and also applied a credit to our account for the grooming fee. I appreciate the fact that Bob took the the time to call and address the problem. I'm impressed! read more

Just took my 13 week old Mi-Ki here. What service and care they gave my 1.5lb fur baby. The store itself may be great but the staff is even better. Friendly, caring, and downright fun. Typically I run into this store and am greeted personably and warm. Tonight was the opposite. I came in to request an appointment for my Schnoodle to be groomed. When I asked if I could get him in on Saturday (tomorrow) she said the earliest would be Tuesday. When I tried to explain what I wanted she rudely replied, we book out a week in advance very rudely. Like how dare I even ask her a question. Then when I explained I wanted to have him shaved down but wanted to maintain the mustache and facial expression of his schnauzer description, she replied his haircut will be at the discretion of the groomer. I replied, "excuse me, the groomer will not cut my dog to their discretion. My dog that I am paying for to be groomed" I explained that my pup has many mats, but I had spent the previous night cutting a majority out and only the ones on his legs remained. He just needed a nail trim and to be evenly shaved around the rest of his body. No wash no ears cleaned I can do it myself. She went on to explain that I would be pain more for a matted dog, and that I cannot just get his nails trimmed. I couldn't believe that a woman working the counter with the public at a local small business could be this nasty and rude. She should give lessons on how to talk a customer how to leave and shop at a competitors. If she stays up front, won't be long before this place goes under. I've taken my dog to Gibson's for daycare and grooming for the last 3 years now. They have a great staff that seems to genuinely enjoy being around the dogs and are always friendly. I've since moved from Worcester but this is the only Daycare I trust with my dog. I have a super high energy dog who loves to come here and always comes home happy and exhausted from playing all day. My schedule can get hectic at times and they always accommodate my last minute calls to get him in for the day. Reading some of these previous reviews I can definitely say they don't get enough credit for what they do. These guys are great! read more

Go ahead and block me like you did to the poor family that had to come home last week to pick up their two toy puppies only to find out their precious dogs have died by an aggressive husky!!!! I brought my GSD to ask what they would charge to groom him, was told for nails, ears and a bath -$35, all that + trim -$50. I stated I just wanted the bath, nails and ears. Made my appointment. When I dropped him off, I made sure to state "this is just bath, ears, nails, not trim, right?" Woman behind the counter said "yes". I asked "how long will it take", was told "a few hours". I was shocked when an hour later I was called and told my dog was ready. When I pick him up, he's still wet and I'm told "that will be $50". I said "I was told it was $35 when I made the appointment". Was told the person I made the appointment with was not there. One of the groomers said "I'll charge you only $45, I say "I was told $35. Finally after silence and nasty looks I was rung up for $35. Not only was my dog, wet, not only was his nails NOT trimmed but his ears were not even cleaned. Guess I paid $35 for the cheap bandana, not even sure my dog got a bath. Will NEVER bring my dog back or shop here ever again. read more

We have been taking our dog to Gibsons since we've had him (over 2 years). The service and day care had always been wonderful UNTIL a few weeks ago when we took our dog to be groomed. We dropped him off at 11, received a call at 2pm saying they were just getting to our dog. So he had been sitting in a cage for 3 hours........Not even an hour later we received a second call saying he was finished. 3 days later, we noticed as we were petting him that he had scabs all down his back, around his neck, even on his head. I had called to complain and the person we spoke to just wasn't having any of it, was extremely rude, and didn't even offer an explanation. We went back with him for some treats he likes, he wouldn't even go into the store, he was shaking. If you love your dog as much as we do, and i am sure you do, think twice before bringing your pet(s) here. read more
