Walking in, I think the best way to describe this joint is chaotic. Chaotic in the sense that there's a ton of stuff shoved in a very small space. They have a little of everything here. It's quite.... interesting. You have trinkets, blind boxes, key chains and lingerie. The lingerie really threw me off honestly. It was the last thing I would expect from a store like this. We did find a couple things in the store to take home with us when we had back to Idaho. There is a 10 dollar min unless you are paying cash. The cashier is there to do her job so don't expect too much customer service. If you're looking for Sanrio type items than this is the joint to hit up. It is quite overwhelming trying to check everything out. As long as you're patient and is willing to take the time to check everything out than you should have fun for you! It might come as a surprise that a store like this produces a very solid cup of coffee. Tucked away in the back behind the register is a setup that yields a delicious brew by someone who clearly has lots of experience dialing in the coffee. I did not spend much time in the area but was very happy to have stopped by and talk with the owner and experience a delicious latte. She also deserves extra praise for letting me SAMPLE the coffee before taking it away! I've never had this kind of service from a coffee shop. While I was told a marvelous Americano can be had here, I opted for my usual latte and was not disappointed. I highly recommend getting your fix of java here if you're in the area.

What I love most about From The Ground Up is that their store encourages you to take your time and be present. It's so much fun and very relaxing to browse through their collection and I always leave feeling better than when I walked in. It simultaneously feels like it's a testament to Salt Lake Culture while also feeling like it belongs elsewhere.
