He recommended replacing the movement rather than repairing it because it had some serious damage (due to my poor maintenance) and Tim noted the company has made improvements to the mechanism. He gave me a quote on what it would cost, which included the driving time. He came back with the new movement a couple weeks later and installed it and explained the updates the company had made to the mechanism (which are very nice). The bill was what he quoted, and much cheaper than buying a new clock. It has worked fine since, and sounds better now than it ever did before. Highly recommend him!

I found the Clock Specialist via a Yelp review, and we are so glad we did. The owner, Jim, went above and beyond in his search for new works for our clock. I took the clock to Michael, and he suggested a $120 oil and clean, which is quite reasonable if you know the price of maintenance on clocks. He repaired and cleaned the movement, but also cleaned up the exterior. It looks new! When I went to pick up the clock, he even brought it to the car for me and provided towels to keep it from getting scratched. This is a terrific family run business, and I will be back!
