My husband and I love stopping by Giga-Bites Cafe to check out the wide selection of games they have in stock. Today, we decided to try some food from their cafe and picked a game from their library to enjoy while eating. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to chat, making the experience feel welcoming and relaxed. The food was delicious! We shared a monthly special panini that was cleverly game-themed, just like the rest of the menu (I wish I could remember the name!). The sandwich was flavorful, and the cold glass bottle sodas complemented it perfectly. Our only small gripe was paying an extra $3 for a side of fries that ended up being barely a handful in the basket. Still, it didn't take away from the overall experience. It was fun to see so many people hanging out, playing D&D, card games, and board games. We'll definitely keep coming back for quick bites and to enjoy the game-filled atmosphere. Hands down, some of the most fun I've had doing the playtesting thing in a long time. I was able to meet some friends here so they could playtest my game prototype. I'd never been to Giga-Bites before. All I knew is that there would be gaming and food. Like, real food, and not just coffee and danish. So I'll start with the food. Those guys are having fun with the menu. There are tried and true favorites on the menu alongside periodic specials and themed treats. My meatball sub was very good, though next time I think I'll get the burger. The drink cooler is stocked with more than the ubiquitous coke products. And was there beer? I can't remember. I was too focused on the gaming... Giga-bytes is stocked with a very wide variety of games and gaming accessories. Paint, dice, minis, expansions for whatever your favorite pastime is--they've got it. (Or they can probably get it.). And there are plenty of tables for gaming. Tall tables for the 40K crowd, and low tables for board gaming and RPGs. It wasn't cramped. It was a little loud, but not deafening. We were able to complete our gaming session without any issues. My only complaint: Giga-bytes needs to find some way to keep grease vapors in the kitchen area. It's an open kitchen, which is nice, because the people in the kitchen are nice. But near the kitchen, you can tell the plastic on the gaming products takes a little abuse from the vapors emanating from your burger. But that's it. I'm looking forward to my next visit there. Omg they have a crazy selection of warhammer products! My s/o is a big fan, and was able to find models that are no longer printed. They also have a vast variety of paints and supplies as well. In addition I loved the choice of games, card game supplies and Lorcana stock. We did not eat here, but I appreciated the environment since their were a lot of people having fun playing games, including woman which isn't common in a lot of these shops. One recommendation would be to have registers that can rings up all products. I thought it was weird that only certain sides of the store can ring up certain products. read more

The best gaming cafe I've ever visited by a long shot! The selection of games--board, tabletop, indie, war--is absolutely unmatched. The Warhammer section alone takes up half the store. But there's also a wonderful selection of nerdy trinkets from plushies to enamel pins to choose from. The environment and vibe really sold it for me, though. The place was full of trading card players, groups war-gaming, and folks just hanging out. The staff were similarly personable and helpful, making this newcomer feel welcome. One of the bigger gaming stores I've visited with a nice variety. Other stores can have a very narrow focus but this store has, I'd guess, around 40% wargaming, 20% board games, 30% Role Playing, 10% trading cards (no Pokemon, however). And decent inventory levels, too. The prices are on par with my expectations. The gaming area is spacious. I haven't tried the cafe yet, but the menu appears to have all the basics for their target audience. COVID has limited where you can eat, which might be a challenge in poor weather. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the establishment seems to have an air of energy about it that makes it appealing. Giga-Bites has fantastic product selection, a friendly staff, and plenty of space for games of all kinds! I love the inclusive atmosphere and the sense of community you get from just walking through the doors. My only complaint is that they have two different registers: one for tabletop products and one for cards games. If I want some of each, I have to get rung up two times! My only other suggestion would be a more comprehensive display cabinet of painted miniatures and a better place to store terrain. Came last weekend with 2 of my friends cause we wanted a place to play some board games. when we walked in and no one was at the counter. We stood there for about 3 minutes still no one came my other friend decided to see if they could find someone and couldn't I think there was one employee but he didn't even acknowledge us and walked right past us. At that point we were just standing there for about 8-10 minutes and we just gave up and left. This was probably one of the worst experiences I've had a game borad cafe. read more

I brought my son here a couple of times to play some games, he was new to several of them and the staff and especially the gamers were very helpful and welcoming. It is totally safe late at night as I picked him up at closing time and there was no uncomfortable feeling among some of the people hanging outside as is often the case elsewhere when young folk are congregating. Their food is also much better than most hangouts ( including many sports bars!) The owner and staff are very customer-oriented as well, and will bend over backwards to help if there's a problem or a question. Go visit GigaBytes, you will not be disappointed!!!! read more

If you are into board games or DND, this is a fantastic place to go. It has lots of board games, including several from Kickstarter, it also has tons of minis that I've never seen in other stores, including some from Kickstarter. This is a place for those who are into miniature and fight against other armies, like my son. Not really my cup of tea, HOWEVER I was really warmed up by the people in it, worker and clients, who did not hesitate to spend time with my son to give him advise. Really nice to see. Great venue for snacking and gaming, whether you're tabletop or TCG - just use the calendar in-shop or give them a call to find which days are planned around hosting the activity you're trying to indulge. Not sure what other review is talking about with racism, place is a massive ally to all sorts showing up and feels more like he left out large swaths of crucial information. Their singleton selection for TCG isn't as large as places like Super Games in Milton but their pricing is absolutely on par with TCGPlayer to be fair and honest. Feels like some salty losers don't check TCGPlayer before attempting to purchase their singletons. read more

A little cramped from all the products available, not to mention the large tables for gaming in the middle of the cafe, but ultimately an awesome idea whose time is overdue. I only had a coffee here, but it was very delicious, and I hope to come back to try the food at some point in the near future. I think this business, and others like it, will also go a long way in dispelling the myth about the eating habits of gamers. There has been a renaissance in the gaming world, and it's no longer the dark secret that it used to be. People are gaming loud and proud, which is wonderful, but there is still a stigma that needs to be overcome. This cafe should go a long way to that end. Healthier food options, chic coffee choices, healthy smoothies... a great idea, and a wonderful option to the fast food, bagged salted snacks, and sugary caffeine drinks that were once iconic of the genre. We've visited Giga-Bites in the past and enjoyed they nice selection of bird games, so we thought this was a great place to go for Free RPG day. We arrived right at opening only to find they didn't have one of the advertised products available. Conflicting information and bad attitudes left us disappointed. It really felt like someone was being dishonest... And then checkout was a nightmare, with long lines and no enforcement of social distancing for COVID. This place is great. Tons of games, minis, and accessories for all gamers. The staff is super helpful, especially Callie. Helped me find a game on the self, placed an order for for something they didn't have in stock, and got me signed up for their rewards program and event calendar. Been going here for well over four years, and it's always a blast. Staff at Gigabites are kind, smiling, and helpful. If they can't answer your question, they'll find someone who will. Those who aren't as smiley are usually keeping enforcement on careful rules or tournament etiquette- which is perfectly fine in my book. They've also been doing a top notch job keeping with Covid guidelines. Product management at Giga is also excellent. Their Magic card department is knowledgeable about the game, and fast at getting your orders. They work hard to keep Games Workshop items stocked, and their D&D/tabletop section is one of the best around. Prices are relatively on the expensive side, but this comes from a broke kid fresh out of college. So take take with a grain of salt. If you want to come for food, drink, and some play, expect to be spending $20 or so. They've got some tasty options in the kitchen, and they serve some pretty unique alcohols! One of the parts I love the most about Giga is that simply coming in to play is absolutely free. There's no fee for tables, no reservation necessary. First come first serve. It's because of this, that I always like to at least grab a soda. You're gonna love it. read more

Such a fun place, friendly staff, and very friendly clientele. I love this place! I feel at home in their very welcoming atmosphere.

This place rocks! It is a hangout for every type of gamer, and it is in a newer bigger facility, where the old Atlanta Bread Company used to be in the East Lake Shopping Center in Marietta. If you have not been here yet, I highly recommend you stop by, though I warn you that the hours for the day time are a little odd (call ahead), but at night, it is always busy. My husband and I play games like Warhammer 40K, Fantasy, board games, Cards Against Humanity, etc here, and sometimes we just stop by for some great smoothies (I lived on their smoothies when I had the flu) and great cafe food at excellent, gamer prices. Warhammer hosts a variety of tournaments and fun events, and sometimes has lock-ins for extra long hours of fun. You can also join the Rolling Bones Club and become a regular, and enjoy discounted merchandise and tournament entry fees. Giga also has a very busy and interactive forum, where gamers can get feedback, find out about events, and ask questions about games. David, the owner, is likely to be in, and is friendly and informative, and the staff is pretty laid-back. read more

This is a great place for gamers to call their own during the day, here in Marietta in a rather convenient spot with more to do than ever! Events are seemingly hoping and constant on the billboard and staff is willing to give you the lowdown on fun things to get involved in here. I myself didn't get a chance to see the computer to vouch an opinion on the LAN set up as of yet, but I will say that when you walk in, there is plenty to look into and a great cafe environment upon entry! Behind the counter to your left is friendly and attentive staff that are happy to serve you good Irish and Manhattan dishes (my husband enjoyed his flat bread sandwich). The extended menu goes on with descent sized smoothies, coffees, and brownies. Enough to keep you going sugar and protein-wise. Another thing that I appreciated and as a lady took note of was the clean bathroom. I feel like they are pretty well taken care of; clean, brightly lit, nice homey wall decor, stocked, nice wall color. Pretty cool! So, enjoy a card game at one of the booths with an old friend, plan a secret DnD meet with your friends in the cozy and well-lit backroom, set up a strategy over the green tables with your fantasy-based miniatures and just have fun here! Besides being a cool gamers hangout it is a good sandwich shop as well. I had a sandwich called The Amazing. If is homemade chicken salad, crisp bacon, provolone cheese , lettuce, tomato, and mayo. My friend got a hot dog. Both were very good. In fact I will stop here for lunch sometimes not just for the games. The problem with that is that there are only limited table space since this is mainly a game store. If you are a gamer of any type try this place out. It has a friendly staff, usually a verity of games going on to watch, many times a demo will be going on to try a new game or if you just want to hang out this is the place for you. This is a huge store. Most of the space is devoted to miniatures, including tables with lots of shared landscape/terrain/building pieces. We were there looking for board games, of which there was a nice selection including some tables available for game-playing. I didn't see any games available for demo play, but we were not there long enough to ask about that. We arrived mid-afternoon and so didn't try anything in the cafe, but the food smelled good. I have always been pleased with the quality of the food and the service. The owners have always been helpful with their answers to questions in regards to paints and rules questions. And unlike some places I have been to in the past they will joke around with you and just pass the time without pushing their products beyond mentioning hey we got some new stuff in that you might like. I will also say that they try to ensure that it is a very open gaming crowd as many begin to turn exclusionary towards new patrons in a us and them mentality. The absolute BEST place to play games in the Atlanta area. They have tons of both high and low top tables for miniatures games, board games, RPGs, or Card games. They also have a good selection of fresh food and snacks (and now BEER) for you while you game. Their Games Workshop selection is second to none and even if they don't happen to have something they're more than happy to order it for you. PROS -Lots of products available for various kinds of non-video game systems, although they do have a small video game station! -Lots of space for various kinds of games: war games, card games, table-top games. This place does still get packed during peak hours! -Gaming tournaments. I know they do official tournaments, but I am not sure about any unofficial ones. -Clean, and at least the women's bathroom smells fresh and is always clean. -Love their food, coffee, smoothies, drinks, and snacks. -Wonderful staff. The fellas that work there, even the not-so-talkative ones, are charming and work hard to provide excellent service. -Active owner. One of the hardest-working, engaged owners of an establishment I've ever met, and I think it shows in the environment. CONS -When it gets packed, it gets loud. It can be a challenge, but it can be worked around. I spend every other Friday here for a slight-homebrew D&D 3.5 game that I run. Their BLTs are to die for, as are their coffees and the Hawaiian Hoopla. The owner and the staff are great to be around and make the place personable. I saw a review on the food being expensive, and although the price is higher than a basic sandwich, I do not believe they are overcharging for the product they deliver. They aren't throwing together the cheapest ingredients possible. They're using higher-quality ingredients (green leaf lettuce instead of iceberg), arrange it neatly on the plate, and deliver a napkin alongside. Even if they were overcharging for the food, the presentation and service is absolutely worth the money you pay for it. If you're not sure what to get at the cafe, a BLT and a Hawaiian Hoopla smoothie are a good start. WARNING: If you get the Hawaiian Hoopla smoothie, be prepared to want that every single time you're within five miles of the place! Never regretted a cent that I spent here. Not one. This is a cute little place out in Marietta for gamers. They've got internet and tabletop gaming (Warhammer) and such for use nerdly types and a pretty extensive menu considering it's a small cafe. My biggest complaint is I wish it was bigger and catered not just to minature gaming, but that they had space/tables for board gamers too. I'm afraid it goes largely unnoticed, as it's in a strip mall, kind of out of the way, but the staff is great. read more
