While visiting RVA from D.C., my wife had a bubble tea craving. Luckily, the city has plenty of options, but Gigi Tea Time was rated highest. So we went. And we're so glad we did! There was easy street right out front. The shop is small, but does have a restroom and a seating area on the second floor. The man behind the counter was very nice and walks you through the large menu of Taiwanese-style bubble tea. I order a large creylon black tea latte with boba. The regular wasn't too sweet- well balanced!

Five stars!! This place is a must visit!! The parking is the ONLY downside of it (street parking near Broad), but there are a bunch of spaces on side streets. The owner made recommendations, and even took some cute pics of me and my little party on our way out. My partner loved their rose tie-guanyin tea, and I am obsessed with the toffee milk tea I got there. Their boba is amazing, and the seating area is the upper loft is so adorable. It was peaceful and quiet on a Sunday afternoon, perfect for reading or studying or good times with friends.

I work across the street from this place and have often wondered if they were any good. Curiosity got me today, and I ventured over and to my surprise... this place is just what I needed. The group on line in front of us was going hard, ordering the Thai tea.. they declared it the best drink in the house. I sampled it and some Taro tea, and I was sold... Taro tea was the winner, slightly sweeter, with some pineapple jelly in the bottom. I have found a new spot in walking distance from work... I will definitely be back because the owner was super friendly.. excellent customer service, great suggestions, and a delicious drink. Thai tea next I think. signed one happy lady.

raspberry/strawberry boba tea with 3 types of jelly

This place is so tiny and cute. I got the strawberry/raspberry boba tea and it was SO YUM. Actually tasted like real tea and not just fake fruit juice like most boba places. I got a large with 3 different types of boba and it was only 6 dollars which is amazing, and the man gave me a punch card for a free drink. i will definitely come back here!! 10/10

We got the coffee milk tea (50% sweet) and the honey oolong (30% sweet). The coffee milk tea is exactly what it says it is - milk tea with coffee. And the boba is a perfect addition. It's just the right consistency of chewy and not overly sweet. The honey oolong is also as stated - slightly sweet oolong tea with boba. If you like oolong tea, you'd love this. I probably should have gone with 50% sweetness. It's a little too oolong-y for me. I got swayed by the reviews and really wanted to try it. If I go back, I'd just go with the original. I'm sure it's great. Service is fast and direct. I asked several questions and changed my order twice. He never rushed me or got annoyed - just asked clarifying questions and repeated the order. I really appreciate that.

I will always have the time for GiGi's Tea! Right on the busy strip of West Broad Street, this quaint tea shop provides authentic Taiwanese teas and Chinese/Taiwanese snacks for the Richmond community. The shop is small, but clean and decorated well with Chinese inspiration and beautiful tea accessories! It looks like they have an upstairs for seating however, I was not sure if this was open for customers. I was not planning to stay and only grabbing a drink to go. Parking: GiGi Tea time is located in the strip of stores on West Broad Street. It's only street parking if you can find any. I walked from the restaurant I ate dinner and did not have to consider parking for my visit. I ordered the Honey Oolong Tea with Lychee Jelly, 50% sweetness. You can taste the earthiness of the Oolong and I enjoyed the authentic tea flavor. I had this sweetened by half the amount and it was the perfect balance with the lychee jelly. The prices are reasonable for each drink! Staff: The owners are a husband/wife duo that is kind and personable! We talked about our dogs and they have a cute shitzu named CoCo that is adorable LOL I cannot wait to come back to try there boba and food as well! So glad I found GiGi Tea Time on Yelp for a new boba tea spot in the RVA area!!

I got (4. Honey Oolong Tea) didn't really like it. It tasted like a black and green tea mix not really sweet at all. It's good for a health person but I'm into sweet or fruity things like taro or thia tea. Nice place has a small upstairs lounge 4 tables. And few games available if you want to play games like jinga, checkers... etc! Free Wi-Fi

Only one person was working, but she made drinks quickly. I got a Honey Oolong Tea Latte with boba and no adjustments. It was alright, a bit sweet, but it was cheap compared to other boba shops ($4.50). Also got a Chinese Crepe, and it was yummy. I wish it had meat though. They don't offer indoor seating or a bathroom right now.

I like that the matcha wasn't overly sweet. The tapioca pearls was freshly made! There's also more seating upstairs with a few board games.

If you want authentic tea then this is the place. Each cup is made with freshly brewed tea and minimal ice meaning you get all the flavor, quality, and quantity of tea unlike some chain bubble tea places. There's no dine in seating right now but their drinks are perfect for on the go for a picnic in Monroe Park.

DELICIOUS MILK TEA. Please get the honey oolong tea. Gigi is a must in Richmond. The tea flavor is strong and balanced really well in sweetness. At the time I went, the indoor dining was closed off, but it looks like it would have been a nice place to hang out with friends and chill. It definitely was a local favorite because when I got there more and more customers came. The only downside was the wait time because there was only the owner working but she was very nice and had to make so many orders before mine. So if you go, please just be patient. There is also the cafe dog that kept you company so waiting wasn't all that bad.

    4. Ceylon Black Tea Latte
    Lily W.

Ok this place has the best pearls in Richmond, the boba balls definitely taste better than kung fu tea. I ordered Ceylon black tea latte with pearls, it's so good. It's probably one of the best boba I have had in awhile. The staff was very friendly as well. I was in a rush when I ordered, but I remember wanting to try other things. So I need to come back again when I visit Richmond. The reason why I didn't give five stars is because I think it's more expensive than most boba places. My large black tea latte with pearls is more than $6. I was shocked, but I was in a rush so I got it anyway. Highly recommended!

Gigi Tea Time is so great! They have a great variety of flavors, service is fast and friendly. Drinks usually aren't overly sweet which is my biggest complaint for most chain boba places. Very flavorful and satisfying every time. My boyfriend's been coming here for a while and Gigi recognized him which is very wholesome. This is definitely my top spot in the area for boba tea. Drink pictured is a large size.
