Cute little place. Good donuts and really good chai, and everything is vegan. Will be back.

Gigi's doughnuts is a new doughnut shop that recently opened up in the neighborhood. The place is cute, painted in pretty pastel colors. They do all of the baking in-house, so the smell is very appealing. The owner, Gigi, was very welcoming as soon as I walked into the store. She answered all of my questions about the menu and explained the ingredients. In addition to doughnuts, they also serve coffee and tea. All of the doughnuts are vegan, which is great for those looking for a vegan bakery option. I decided to go with the Le mon glazed doughnut. The Le mon doughnut was a nice combination of sweet and tart flavors. I am looking forward to trying out the doughnut holes and other flavors.

The strawberry frosted donut reminded me of my childhood in the best way possible + Gigi was so nice! So glad this place is in the neighborhood and look forward to coming back soon.

Gigi warm smile and positive energy welcomes you to her pop-up turned store front off of 5th Ave. The vegan, soy-based donuts are delicious with a solid donut base and ample frosting. The donut cake is light yet solid and maintains its structure with each bite. The frostings are ample, so that the cake is more of a vehicle than a standalone. The coffee uses organic beans and completes the treat. I'd love to taste a plain donut, to try Gigi's take on the original donut to get a better sense of the donut cake itself. I know this place will be hopping on Sunday mornings with those attending church services up the street. It's great to see this shop in the neighborhood, and I'll certainly be back

Gigi's doughnuts are always a treat when I visit Harlem! If you're a fan of doughnuts with fun flavors and fluffy and chewy texture, you'll love Gigi's! She opened fairly recently but is already our go-to spot for breakfast doughnuts in the area. The Le Mon flavor, with its strong acidic lemon flavor topped with candied lemon, is my current favorite!

Don't let the average size fool you. These (vegan) donuts pack a strong punch! The strawberry cheesecake donut was delicious. Hopefully they'll get bigger as the customer base grows.

Donut Vanilla Glazed Box of Doughnut Holes. I ate half of them before I remembered to take a photo. Still so many in there!

Just ordered these the vanilla donut holes and the Le Mom and vanilla donut and they were all the best vegan donuts I've ever had! What a great way to start off your day! Great value and the order came to my apt very quickly. Will def be ordering again!

Our dinner reservation at Willow was largely made in response to our LOVE of Le Basque and Coletta,…read moreas all three of these restaurants are part of the City Root Hospitality group. And, there are more to explore!!! Willow is another notch on their belt as it delivered everything we wanted based on previous experiences. The restaurant is quaint and cozy - in other words much smaller than the others previously mentioned. The staff was accommodating and gracious and paid great attention to each table, making certain water was filled and the food was satisfying. We ordered the crab Rangoon to start and what a perfect choice. These were stunning and made even more perfect by the sauce accompanying them. I moved onto the brisket in bbq sauce served with Parmesan fries. The bbq sauce was a Rita's bit overwhelming and the fries seemed more traditional for the Parmasean seasoning didn't come through. It was a good dish although not one I would be running back to order. The brisket was super tender though! My husband had the Korean fried chicken sandwich with an upgrade of onion rings - delicious!! The rings were both crispy and tender as was the sandwich. For dessert we actually asked our waitress to surprise us because we could not choose - there were too many amazing choices!! She did not do us wrong! We had the banana pudding with wafer cookies and it was AMAZING! The appetizer and dessert (paired with their special iced latte) are well worth the trip and made the experience a delight. Once again the City Root Hospitality group did not disappoint!!

SERVICE - located in Chelsea…read more - spacious interior with tables for groups of 2-4 people - reservations are not required though could be helpful if you do not want to risk waiting - great service! our waiter provided us with comprehensive descriptions of the dishes and drinks - food served relatively quickly - ambiance good for a semi formal meal MENU - french American bistro food - all vegan/vegetarian - slightly pricey FOOD - French dip (7/10): vegan grilled steak with provolone cheese, goat cheese, caramelized onion, and horseradish aioli on a toasted baguette served with a side of au jus dip and fries. This sandwich is usually not something that is available vegetarian so i was curious to see the flavors and textures. The steak is chewy and meaty so if you are not a fan of faux meat then i would proceed with caution. I enjoy the cheeses here as they are unique and different from each other. The sandwich overall was okay though not my favorite sandwich ever. - smoked Mac and cheese (7/10): macaroni with smoked goat cheese, cheddar, mozzarella baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with vegan pancetta and breadcrumbs. This was a cozy appetizer especially on a cold day. The flavors of the cheese are rich and smoky with a hint of saltiness from the pancetta and breadcrumbs. I would have liked it to be a larger portion and offered as an entree. WOULD I GO BACK? Maybe. I liked the ambiance and the option to try dishes that are usually meat heavy but the cuisine is not my personal favorite.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar, the atmosphere was exactly what I needed. Quiet,…read morerelaxed, not too loud or busy. A really nice vibe overall. The service was excellent. My bartender Lewis/Luis was incredibly attentive, frequently checking in to see how everything was going. He also recommended the Avocado Sushi with truffle miso to go alongside the Bang Bang Broccoli I had already ordered, and it was a great call. The Bang Bang Broccoli is good the tempura is well done and the sauce is delicious but after a couple of bites, the sauce starts to overpower the broccoli and becomes a little too saucy and salty. I found myself reaching for water more than I expected. The Avocado Sushi had a really beautiful smoky, rich flavor, though I do wish they'd pack a little less rice. With so much rice in each piece, it's hard to get a balanced bite cutting it down by half would make it perfect. The Matchatini was a standout. Creamy on top, with just the right amount of alcohol not overpowering at all, just enough to complement the matcha. As tempting as it was to order another one, I wanted to savor the moment, and I'm glad I did. For dessert, I had my eye on the Matcha Sandwich Cookies with ice cream, but they were sold out. Fellow reviewers saved the day though, pointing me to the Matcha Cheesecake and they were 110% correct. That cheesecake did not disappoint. Though it didn't seem to be a lot of food but I couldn't even finish it on my own so I got it to go.

The space was super clean, calm, and had a vibe that felt authentic to the cuisine. The staff was also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and fast, which made the whole experience even better. But the food is what really blew me away. I got the Korean Wild Green Tea First Picked, and it was unreal. Yes, it had that beautiful green tea character, but it was so much more layered than that--smooth, complex, almost naturally sweet, and honestly one of the most memorable teas I've had anywhere. I also ordered the iced matcha latte, and it was easily the best matcha latte I've ever had: no grittiness at all, just incredibly smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. We also had the baby dumplings in spicy sauce, popcorn shrimp, fried Manchurian cauliflower, spicy kimchi pancakes, Peking duck baos, and the duck rice bowl. Every single dish was excellent. I'm still baffled by how well they nailed the shrimp texture--seriously impressive. The flavors across the board were rich, creative, and satisfying without feeling heavy. If you're in Murray Hill and want a standout vegan lunch or dinner, or you're just looking for one of the best plant-based restaurants in Manhattan, Franchia is absolutely worth going out of your way for. Highly recommend.
