First off -- I'm apologizing in advance because I took zero photos. Not one. I know, I know. I failed y'all. But just know the donuts did not survive long enough for a photoshoot. Let me make this very clear though: I have been a loyal stan of Dough since they opened. Loyal. I used to trek all the way to the West Side just to get my hands on these donuts, okay? So the fact that there are locations closer to the Upper East Side now? Blessings. I put everybody onto Dough. Everybody. And one of the reasons I love them so much is because they offer vegan donuts, which is right in line with how I had to switch up my diet. And let me tell you -- they are not an afterthought. The vegan options are GOOD good. Some of my forever favorites? The Café au Lait. The Dulce de Leche. The vegan glaze. The vegan sugar. The Margarita donut? Amazing. Piña Colada? Amazing. Hibiscus? One of my top-tier favorites. Honestly, I don't think I have a non-favorite. Some just sit higher on the pedestal than others. Now let's talk about the service because that's really what stood out that day. The young man at the cashier -- I hate that I didn't grab his name because y'all know I usually do -- was so joyful. Great conversation, bubbly personality, just good energy. And listen... there is so much stuff going on in the world. You walk outside and it's heavy. So when you walk into a place and someone is genuinely pleasant? It matters. He was attentive. He was engaging. Every single person that walked in left smiling. That kind of energy isn't fake -- you can feel when it's real. The store was extremely clean (y'all know that's important to me). We didn't get there at peak selection time, so a lot of donuts were already sold out -- which, honestly, says something. But we still walked out with a few of my favorites, and every single one hit. The space itself is nice. Not huge, but you can definitely sit off to the side and enjoy your donut and coffee if you want. But truly? It was about the service for me that day. And yes, this is another January review posted in February because life has been life-ing -- between my son's birthday and everything else, I've been moving nonstop. But we really needed a smiling face that day, and he delivered that. I love Dough. Fresh donuts, tons of choices, vegan options done right, good coffee, good vibes. If you haven't tried Dough yet, go. There's a Flatiron location, one by Rockefeller Center, and one on the Upper East Side (though I think one location may have recently closed, so double-check before heading out). Highly recommend. Now and then I'm near a Dough donuts shop and have to get a few. I'm not into all their fancy artisanal donuts but I go for the simple stuff like original plain glazed and cinnamon sugar. With a cup of their coffee it makes for a nice snack. Toasted coconut is also pretty good. Their donuts are also decent sized for the price. Smaller location with no seating so its grab and go. read more

Four Stars because I need a seat! Rainy day overdue review. Dough on Lexington Avenue is a definite stop for me and also not far from my home. I've been eating these donuts for years. My favorite is the plain with sugar or the Coconut. Definitely any kind of Coconut. I'm not big on the Chocolate flavors but they do look decadent. Sometimes I will get the Peanut Donut. I get the donut and have a seat somewhere in the hood or I take it home for breakfast the next day. It's definitely so huge it's a meal. I'm definitely recommending when you are a neighborhood with a Dough Donut Shop. Dough has a lot of locations. read more

Walked by this new Dough Location on Upper east side. It is one of the smaller locations but it seems to be clean and somewhat spacious. There is no where to sit and eat your donut but there is a bar by the window where you can stand and eat. These donuts are pretty big and doughy. If you want to splurge on a treat this is the right place. Each donut is 6.00 +tax and tip if you do tip. So this is not a spot I will come to alot but on special occasions or if I have out of town friends and they want to try out the donuts. When I was here there was only one person working so the service was a tad slow with a few people in the store placing orders. But it was not too bad. The guy who helped me was nice and apologetic about the wait. I had the chocolate with cacao nibs donut. It is my fav one there. All the donuts here look beautiful and delicious though. read more

Meh. I've walked past this store since they opened and it hasn't had much customers, but decided to give it a go since my partner really wanted a donut. Got a chocolate and cocoa nibs, and the seasonal tropical ones. They were almost $7 per and overwhelmingly dough, which I guess is in their name. I don't know about donut, just dough. The flavorings aren't really the donuts themselves, more so flavored icing. Even the chocolate donut was regular dough with chocolate icing. Service was fine, not many customers. read more

I almost didn't stop in because of the mediocre reviews but I am so happy I did! The doughnuts were out of this world! They were so fresh and the flavors were spot on! We got a strawberry which was my favorite, a blueberry, a chocolate and a cafe au lait doughnut! They were moist and had the best cake-like texture that we all loved! The shop was cute and there were even a few seats by the window. We were thrilled to stop by on a Saturday and find it not too busy! Will definitely be back! read more

I found this place walking by and only walked in after seeing a sign that said vegan donuts! This place is great! They have an extensive array of donuts with fun flavors and pretty nice vegan options. At the time I went, there was vegan cinnamon sugar, glazed, passionfruit, and a blueberry jam one. They were large, fluffy, and one of the best *vegan* donuts I've had! Also, one of the few places in UES that even offers vegan donuts. The shop is pretty small with counter seating, so it's definitely more of a to-go place. The donuts are ~$6 each. I noticed other reviews complaining about the price, but it seemed reasonable given the donuts are large, it's a shop located in UES, and this place is legit marketed as "Artisan" donuts. Whenever I see any business described as "artisan," I know it's going to be a bit pricey. I overall enjoyed my experience and would definitely return! read more

The shop is beautifully pleasant to go and very modern. but the doughnut is very over priced. The cost of one doughnut is about $6. I had a strawberry shortcake. There was nothing much about the strawberry just the Frosting. There is no filling, it was very doughy. The doughnut was very big BUT where is the filling ir something. I would not go back again. I have had Dough donuts before and it was underwhelming but figured I would give it another shot. Total Disappointment. They definitely taste like dough, plain boring dough. I bought 4 donuts and aside from the frosting every single one tasted like plain bread. My Boston crème was especially disappointing, the doughnut was so large so I figured it would have a good amount of cream, nope I swear it had 3 tablespoons of cream in the entire huge doughnut. Ended up throwing the rest of it away bc the doughnut itself just tasted like plain bread. Also got a cinnamon sugar, cheesecake and coco nib fruit. The cheesecake was fine, but when I asked the employee about it, like what is it? Cream cheese? Actual cheesecake? And I was told it's cheesecake. It also looked like a filled donut bc of the way it was frosted over the hole so that was a disappointment. Ended up licking off the frosting and tossing the doughnut. I really wanted the doughnut itself to have flavor and I saw specks in it as if there was vanilla or something but all of them just tasted like bread & not even sweet bread or wonder bread just plain crappy unseasoned bread.
