This is a unique, locally owned shop that carries a wide range of kitchen items as well as an interesting selection of specialty grocery items (cheeses, vinegars, salsas, meats). The store is open and bright with high ceilings and wood floors. The employees are very helpful and kind to customers. This place is a must-visit for any foodie or wannabe. It is filled to the ceiling with interesting kitchen products, a pantry of gourmet foods, and a cold case for meats and cheeses.

What really impressed me was their customer service. When the porcelain on the burner caps cracked and flaked off, I reached out and they immediately told me to send them back. Not only did they fix the issue, but they came back looking even better than before. Communication was quick, the turnaround was fast, and the quality of work exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for true craftsmanship and a company that stands behind their work, I highly recommend IPE.

I had taken them to Gigi's in southern California in the past, but since she past away, the business does not seem reliable. So I did a Google search for companies that reporcelain products and I found this place and another in Illinois. I sent both companies photos of my burner pans and inquired about their ability to refinish the porcelain and the price. Only Independence responded. I package the burner pans and mailed them about 2 weeks ago and just got them back today. They look brand new. I am very pleased with their work. Note - in the past, I've inquired from local antique stove dealers about refinishing, but they quote unusually high prices and they said the pans would be done by a 3rd party. It is probably a place like Independence. So I would skip the middle man and send your parts directly to Independence and in the meantime same some much needed $$$.
