The Bob's Hog pizza with bbq sauce and meats, was really good. The Grand Canyon was good but the onions were a bit too plentiful for me and not quite cooked enough--still a bit crunchy. Our fault--we should have gotten it without onions. Caramelized onions would have been really good, but they aren't. Anyway, it was overall good pizza I'd enjoy again but it's so pricey that it's a specialty type of thing for us.

Ambiance - wood laden local pizza restaurant without the cookie cutter chain decor/vibe. Been going here off and on for decades. Food, service and atmosphere are spot on. This time we got the excellent and superb mozzarella sticks, with a crunchy batter, beautifully stretchy mozzarella, and a very better-than-average marinara sauce, Pizza was Fuzzy's Favorite - A double layer of Pepperoni and Mozzarella Cheese , with Classic Sauce, Fresh Red Peppers, Green Peppers, Cheddar Cheese and Oregano. With the classic crust option it fits perfectly between a thin crust and a rather thick crust. For those fans of "one bite everyone knows the rules", very little flop. Great combo of flavors between the sauce, pepperoni, peppers and cheese. Only petty complaint is a non copious amount of grease, bur not a small bit either.

Since it was time for lunch and I was starving, I stopped in to try them. Walking in, you will see the counter and the cooks preparing food. The dining room is decorated nicely, which reminds you of a restaurant, not a To-Go restaurant like the entrance. I couldn't decide what to order, so I decided on the Taste of Italy, which includes cheese lasagna (I added the meat sauce), chicken spending, alfredo, and a stick of garlic bread. I couldn't resist ordering the chocolate mousse cake. Delish! REVIEW The sauce on the lasagna was full of spice and flavor, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The Chicken Spedini was tender with a strong garlic flavor (loved it!). The Alfredo had a creamy white sauce that reminded me of a smooth mac and cheese sauce, and the Chocolate Mousse Cake was so delicious! You must try it. The chocolate mousse had a soft, creamy, whipped texture that melted in my mouth. It had a smooth, chocolatey whipped flavor that tasted like the best chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten! I live in Raymore, but I'll drive back to NKC just to eat at this restaurant!

Unfortunately, the meal turned into an unexpected deep dive into the olive oil industry. We stopped in for takeout which the highlight was the service did not disappoint! Our order came out within minutes (we placed when we got there) the server helped us choose some of their top rated items. The chicken lemonata arrived swimming in so much oil and lemon juice that the pasta could have qualified for a slip-and-slide competition. The garlic cheese sticks, pizza, and chicken fettuccine Alfredo were slightly more edible, but everything leaned heavily toward "greasy spoon" rather than "Italian comfort food." For nearly $70, we were left disappointed and still hungry. Honestly, Chef Boyardee might have won this round from the pantry shelf at home... and for a fraction of the price. We really wanted to love this spot because it is fast and convenient, but sadly this one was not our pasta-bility.

From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a neighborhood deli back in Northeast. The smell alone tells you you're in the right place. The sandwiches? Huge. No skimping, no shortcuts. The meats are sliced right, the bread actually has character (crispy where it should be, soft inside), and everything tastes fresh and intentional. I ordered an Italian steak, and let me tell you--this is the kind of food that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. Perfect balance of meats, cheese, oil, and seasoning. Nothing overpowering, nothing missing. Just right. The staff is warm and welcoming, like they actually care if you enjoy your food (which matters). It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable, not rushed, and definitely well-fed. Johnny C's isn't trying to be trendy or fancy--it's doing what matters: good, honest deli food done right. If you're craving something that feels authentic and satisfying, this place delivers. I'll be back. And if I'm coming back, trust me--that's saying something.

We started with the goat cheese fondue appetizer, which was rich, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. I also ordered the Passion Mare cocktail, which was refreshing and paired well with lunch. Service was a little slow when we first arrived, but once things got moving, everything was smooth. The food was good, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the location couldn't have been more convenient since it was just a short walk from our hotel. A solid option if you're staying nearby or looking for a nice lunch spot before an event.

The MAI TAI, ENVY OF ALL & the white SANGRIA were all tasty, but at $18 a piece, they should have been spectacular. Taste/presentation did NOT warrant the price tag. We are always delighted to see a WEDGE SALAD on the menu & it was just what you expect in a wedge, which never disappoints, but croutons were unnecessary. Unusual the house dressing was a peppercorn ranch for an Italian restaurant, which was heavy for the MIXED GREENS salad. The CAESER was a winner for my 16 year old son. My 91 year old mother, enjoy the CHEF SOUP, which was turkey & rice... this is high praise for one who always has soup and typically finds fault. The CHICKEN PICCATA was meh. I know this is a safe dish for people to order, but this version had no zest, choose something else. The CHICKEN CARBONARA was served with the egg yolk in the center so you stir it into the hot pasta to cook it. My son loved this presentation, made it fun and most importantly DELICIOUS. Our BEST dish was the BRAISED BONELESS SHORT RIB! When we return to KCMO, we'll definitely reorder this dish and sample some of the others. For dessert we shared the COCONUT BANANA CRÈME PIE... too bad it had whipped cream and not baked merengue.
