This is the best new coffeeshop in Atlanta!!! The space is absolutely beautiful and historic! It is in a house from the 1850s with gorgeous windows and a great view of the train tracks. Don't forget that if a train passes, you get a free shot of Nitro!!! Love it. read more

It's great to have this spot in Stone Mountain. During the weekdays, it's been quiet enough for me to get my reading done there. And of course, the drinks are great. I don't drink caffeinated drinks, but there is a great selection of teas (hot and cold) The last time I was there, they were doing renovations. Hopefully there will be more room/seating options for cafe-goers soon. read more

Perfect. Kind owners, sweet ambience, excellent coffee and pastries. Try the cappuccino if you're so inclined or the nitro if you're that way. Both are done well. In the fall, the apple cider chai warms the throat all the way down and leaves a little tingle. Kids rate the hot chocolate two thumbs up. Plenty of room to plug in and a porch to enjoy. Ok so if you're looking for a place to meet people - it's an overall place called the Mayors House. Go upstairs. Don't come hungry or bring food. The baristas were nice and bring your coffee to you if you order from a table which was convenient - but don't ask about food it may or may not be avail depending on the day. It was a bit vintage - it's an old place so I understand it's a little rickety and maybe dusty in the non dining places but you'll pass by these spots. There's also a little bit of shopping. Available and super cute hammock seats on the upstairs porch. Plenty of plugs at the upstairs 'bar' and the flat white was perfect! read more

Lavender latte--the barista plucked the lavender in front of me. If that didn't make you want to go, then you're probably not a hipster. That's ok; I think you'll still like the place. I don't get out to Stone Mountain often, but that's partly because I didn't know any great coffee shops existed in the area. Now I'm afraid I'll find myself making that drive again, probably for an afternoon date to sit outside of this old-house-coffee-bar and read. They also played unusually good music for a coffee shop. Unbeknownst to me, this was ranked the #1 coffee shop is Georgia. I'm so glad I visited this place! It has a very old southern charm to it! Like a big southern mansion. The staff was friendly! They make their own syrups which makes this place so unique. My coffee was delicious. Very tiny straws though but that's not big deal. Very spacious. Lots to see here! I loved it! read more

My barista was very nice and he made me a yummy vanilla latte with a cute little foam heart. I came here for a casual musicians meeting at the request of my bandmate who is a regular. The establishment is very.....homey. The indoor seating area left a little to be desired, but was still comfortable enough. I could appreciate the vibe though. They do have an upstairs with outdoor seating, but I didn't check it out. I imagined a little local art on the walls and some soft live music or poetry would be just what Gilly's might want to consider. Parking is basically non existant from what I saw, but everyone was parking across the street at the library, as did I with no issues. So overall, I'd definitely return and I'd definitely recommend giving them a visit. Oh, I think they are black owned and operated!!! read more

After moving to Atlanta from Portland, OR, our biggest disappointment has been the lack of good coffee. Just when we had given up hope, we stumbled on Gillys and the heavens opened up, angels sang, and beams of light shown down on us with favor. We have been here nearly every day since. The people are sooooo friendly, and the coffee is better than you can imagine! If you are up for good baked goods, the owners wife owns a bakery and they serve fresh baked goodies daily. This is the closest thing to coffee heaven we have ever found!!! read more

This place checks off so many boxes for things that I value about coffee shops. They don't give you a disposable cup when you order "for here." They're located in a picturesque, historical building. The coffee (I had a nitro cold brew) might be some of the best in Atlanta, at least to my uneducated palette. Note that almost all of the seating is outside right now, although it looks like the interior of the house is being renovated. I initially thought that there was no power for laptops available outside, but a few minutes after I sat down, the barista from inside appeared, noticed my dead laptop, and asked if I would like an extension cord, which I thought was awesome service. My new work from home spot. Beautiful wrap around porches and great music. This historic building has sat for YEARS with no activity. I am so excited to see this coffee shop and future restaurant come to the village. Daniel is so creative with his cocktails. The staff is super sweet and attentive. It's still very new so that have some kinks to work out but spirit of this place is so wonderful. As far as drinks go I get the lick shot. It's ginger beer, lime and espresso and it's so yummy! They have flights if you are like me and have no idea what you want. This place is so wonderful for the community and I am so excited for the future here. read more

Beautiful and unique location! Daniel is a true artist when it comes to mixing espresso and nontraditional pairings. His colleague, Christian, was attentive and the sweetest ever! I am used to venturing down I-20 to find a quality coffee shop with a good ambience and strong WiFi. I now do not have to venture more than 15 minutes from my home base to find either. I was even more pleased that I was able to have amazing conversation with the staff and patrons alike. I look forward to returning, again and again. read more

The guys running the place are SO SWEET and accommodating to personal preferences. Multiple flavors for lattes (iced or hot) and homemade simple strips for iced teas and refreshments! They have non dairy options for their lattes as well which is great to have. The have multiple rooms available for private study and work if you need a quiet and cute place to hang out. A short jaunt from Clarkston, in downtown Stone Mtn, there's a great coffee shop called Gilly Brew Bar. This is a wonderful place to visit when the weather is nice, because after getting your coffee you can stroll around downtown Stone Mtn and even walk into the park from the walk in entrance located ( in front of and to the right) of Gilly's. This would be the perfect place to chill after a run at the park. You can see my pretty latte in this picture. I also had a Jamaican Chicken Patty ( sp?) that was good. read more

The Lavendar, oat milk, iced latte is my jam! I love the lil sprig of Lavendar they add. The atmosphere here is very cozy. My favorite thing are the swings upstairs on the outdoor wrap around porch. This coffee house is in an old house so it definitely has charm. Added plus is coffee is good and the staff is super friendly.
