    Donut City in Tucker GA

So initially when I tried to check in I was not able to. I thought that I was going to have to uninstall my app and reinstall i had this issue before. I tried to search the business on the app it didn't come up I was unable. What I did was Google search to see if the place is on Yelp and there it was from there I was able to check in. I found out about this place a couple of years ago through my supervisor on my job. The glaze donuts taste like a bakery I used to go to in Elementary School in Savannah GA in the fifth grade. The flavor and taste is like nostalgia to me. If you want donuts from here best to come by early in the morning if not you are going to be asked to pick from what is left it happened to me previously I picked some once they were ok it's just the plain glazed are delicious and the white cream filled are also two of my favorite donuts then another time I left because what I wanted to spend my money on was not available instead of them making more of the donuts that are in demand. The donuts are fresh and delicious. Pull up and check them out for yourself. I got a 6:pk of donuts a guy who is homeless asked me for a donut so I asked my cashier to put the sixth one in a bag for me. I asked the bro to wait outside for me. He ended up coming in the store so the guy working there came to the counter and said something to the guy then he left out the door when I completed my order I went outside and he was gone. I assumed that he lives in the area because I saw a sleeping bag on the sidewalk a couple of doors down on the right side. He asked me could he work for a donut and I said know you don't have to do that.

I heard this place had pretty good breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts so I came to try. The sandwiches are pretty good. Not as good as back home, but decent enough to come back. The doughnuts were great. Fresh and very tasty. The bacon and brown maple doughnuts were interesting, sweet vs salty but the bacon was rather gummy not crispy enough for me to order again.

I was craving some donuts. I saw Donut City and I haven't tried before so why not. It's a small family owned business. Lady was really help with picking out donuts. I got some cake donuts, Apple fritters, glazed, lemon filled, and some buttermilk. I really enjoyed the buttermilk little on the sweet side but super moist.

Highly recommend "Celina with a C" and her band, that lady was singing the house down and working the room at the same time. My steak was cooked perfectly. I also added shrimp to my ribeye for a surf and turf and I got 6 colossal shrimp, so they don't skimp on servings. All the food is seasoned well, but I didn't find anything salty. Katch is really cute inside and it's a great spot for an evening out with the girls, date night, or even a solo night at one of the bars. I've been here a few times and would recommend for dinner or brunch.

The execution from the kitchen was also noticeably slow, making the overall dining experience feel poorly coordinated. The pricing is particularly difficult to justify given the quality delivered. Nearly every element of the experience is treated as an à la carte charge, including a $10 entertainment fee for a live band that was excessively loud and performed only a limited number of songs. Rather than enhancing the atmosphere, the volume made conversation difficult. Service lacked attentiveness, and the restaurant did little to acknowledge or elevate a birthday celebration. At this price point, one expects thoughtful hospitality, confident cooking, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, none were consistently present. Overall, the restaurant presents itself at a premium level without delivering premium food, service, or hospitality. The value simply isn't there, and based on this experience, I would not recommend it.

My previous 4 star review was mostly because the menu wasn't really my favorite offerings, and when you are going to eat in the same place 4 or 5 times in a week, variety that matches your palette help. I had my favorite 1 or 2 meals, but some of the takes on standard dishes just weren't my thing. If previous reviews were just on staff, it would always be 5-star. So why a new review? Because on my last trip to town, I had two daily specials which normally I listen to patiently then order my go-to(s). My favorite bartender Juan laid out the Chicken Parmesan one day, and as an Italian who makes a great version of that dish, I was intrigued. When it arrived, everyone within visual range wanted to know what it was. A huge piece of chicken, cooked perfectly in a nice gravy and just the right amount of cheese. Also the angle hair pasta was cooked just right. So in one dish, Marlow's avoided the 3 pitfalls of most non-Italian restaurants when they try pasta, good sauce/not too much cheese/properly cooked pasta (angle hair is often over-cooked because it is so thin). The next day Juan asked again if I wanted to hear the special, and after the success of the parmesan, I eagerly awaited. I'm not an Alfredo fan, I like my gravy red, but I took a shot. The noodles were well done, the chicken well flavored and cooked, and the gravy was nicely doled out, unlike most places that like to bury the product underneath. Once again, well done. Finally on another day I wasn't feeling the special, so I went with one of my old standbys, the prime rib dip. Always big and filling, and great au jus. So my follow up review is now a 5-star, with these new dishes (I recommend one of the pastas make it to the menu), and the air conditioning fixed, why would I go anywhere else when in Tucker? Oh and Kat and the staff are still 5-star.

It's been a few years since I've dined at Marlow's, but their HH deals brought me in. I sat at the bar, and maybe they were in the middle of a shift change bc it took a while to get greeted and service throughout my experience was slow. I had to wave them down, ask for refills instead of the bartender being diligent. The bar was full, but at one point I saw one of the bartenders texting, so they had time to check on guests. I'm also in the service industry , so I may notice these things more than the average person. Anyways, their happy hour is one of the best I've come across. $5 margs & $6 old fashions to highlight a few items. I love a happy hour with food AND drinks. The food here is still as solid as I remember. I had the kettle chips and wings. Wings were not sauced, but very crispy and came with dipping sauce on the side. The chips were hella good! Crispy and the toppings were great. I had those two appetizers, 3 margs and a creme brûlée for under $40! That's a win, this will be one of my go-to spots for sure.

Now, here is where the rating was impacted! I asked what type of fish it was before making a selection. The staff responded. "Catfish." Coo! Ultimately, it was NOT catfish. I would attribute the texture and how it fried to being along the lines of a Swai or similar fish. The only thing that saved it was the light cornmeal batter, which was good. Not much seasoning, so hot sauce was needed. Sides: Collard greens - good (per my hubs) Macaroni and cheese - standard/good (per my hubs) Deviled eggs - good Broccoli cheese casserole - PASS (there was some sort of brown crumble between the layer of cheese and the actual casserole and it was not needed and wasn't good! Hard, but honest opinion. Also, there were large mushrooms in the casserole (no, it wasn't from a mushroom soup), so beware if you're not a mushroom eater -- I don't mind. Mashed potatoes - good and creamy (Baby girl did no gravy, so we have no thoughts on that!) Fried okra - good (my fav of the sides for the day). We came before 11:30 AM and that proved to be ideal. By the time we left (12:15), it was packed tighter than a can of sardines! Ambiance -- ehhh. It's typical cafeteria vibes. No music. Basic decor.
