The walls are decorated with beautiful art and even a whole explanation of how coffee originated. The shop celebrates the Yemen influence of coffee around the world. Mokhaport is a coffee shop featuring Ethiopian and Yemini coffee and teas. They also offer smoothies and food items with a sizable quantity of Halal, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and Soy-Free offerings. Mokhaport is located in a small shopping center near the intersection of Mountain Industrial Blvd. and Hammermill Road. The shopping center is across from Sam's and is close to Highway 78. Mokhaport has an intimate seating area. The coffee shop had a few patrons during my visit, many of whom took advantage of the free Wifi and generous number of electrical outlets. Mokaport has some of the best customer service for a coffee shop. The owner is friendly and willing to answer questions and provide recommendations regarding the menu offerings. You are actually provided a sample of your coffee/tea item before it is finalized. I ordered a Dirty Adani (Sweet Yemini Chai with a shot of espresso) with brown sugar and oat milk. I have previously ordered the Adani with the coffee with brown sugar and almond milk, Ethiopian coffee, and the banana danish. Pro tip: save your receipt via text, which makes it easier to duplicate your beverage order once you have found the perfect drink. I visit this coffee shop every time I am in the area, as the coffees, teas, and service are impeccable. Their desserts are catered to those more health-conscious. My banana danish was good, but not as sweet nor with the buttery crust one may anticipate. I visit Mokhaport somewhat frequently. My boyfriend and I love this spot! There's some delicious authentic, Ethiopian food which the owner makes in house! He's told us that he tries to make most of the food in house, and you can definitely taste it. The owner is very kind, and he will help you most anything! He's answered all our questions and has pointed us to some delicious items on the menu. My favorite coffee is the Ethiopian Mokha coffee. There's often calming music playing in the background, and my boyfriend and I have chatted with some kind people! Pretty small and sparse, but they have some incredible tea and wonderful service! I don't know if it's the kind of place I'd come to hang out in for more than an hour again (bright overhead LEDs and sparse seating/decor) but I will definitely be coming back for more of the adani tea. And the sandwiches are good too, made fresh! Be prepared for food to take 10-20 minutes to be prepared though, since it's all made from scratch to order. Just met a friend here for the first time and loved it. It is a cultural experience. The gentleman working there was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. They serve both Ethiopian and Yemeni coffee as well as a variety of teas and smoothies. Mokhaport roasts their own beans, makes their own oat milk and almond milk, bakes their own pastries. Are you vegan, gluten free or dairy free? You have options! I had the blueberry oatmeal bread and it was delicious (GF & DF). Where do I begin? Probably the only place that serves authentic Yemeni coffee/chai. No artificial bs like many other places and so much flavor in whatever you get. Coffee, tea , smoothies, tiramisu, etc. The owner is super friendly and generous to his customers. Been wanting to go here for a while because of the strong reviews but... 1) he double charged me for my coffee (luckily I caught it and he claims he refunded me - we'll see... ) 2) It took 28 minutes for us to get 2 drinks made and we were the ONLY people in the store. 3) a woman came after us and complained that she didn't want to wait longer so he asked me if she could go b4 us and I said, "no" - he then proceeded to make her drink before ours and she left the store before us - and I asked him about it, and he said, "yes" he did put her before us.
