We found Dr. Van when Ivy was 6 and Max was 4, many visits and two years later we have had nothing but good experiences with the front desk staff, the hygienist, and the doctor. The staff takes their time with our kids and while we learned that there can be a wait to be seen on arrival the actual cleanings and work are fast and pain free for the most part. We have only had one bigger fix that required putting our daughter under anesthesia. The staff gave us a thorough explanation of set expectations of the process. It made kind of a scary thing much easier to watch. Dr. Van and his assistant were impressive and the repairs were finished in about the time expected including one difficult tooth. If you are reading this don't let insurance always tell you where to go. Consider seeing this dentist and at least get some pricing with and without. read more

I've only had excellent experiences since our first time coming in, where the staff is consistently punctual, extremely accommodating, and friendly through the entire visit. We've been seeing Dr Van for a few years for my daughter. He's always been thorough, took his time, and is very good with keeping her calm. I took my 2 year old into Dr. Van's practice for the first time dental visit. His staff acknowledged us when we came through the door. Our dental assistant was Janet and she was very thorough in explaining what we could experience with our son at his current age. Janet also gave us a run through of how Dr. Van was going to examine our son and how long to expect the exam to be. Dr. Van performed the exam and then gave us his assessment of our kid, what we could expect to happen with his current jaw and teeth anatomy, and provide us with areas of focus to prevent cavities. I appreciate his demeanor and breaking down so I could understand what needs to be done to take care of my kid. If I could give this a negative star, I would. I took my kid here about 2 weeks ago, and they kept offering my child laughing gas (even though it wasn't an invasive procedure). I kindly kept refusing but they kept on pressing the issue. The second issue I have, is with dr hai hyunh. This dr kept insisting she told me she discussed certain things with me prior to doing the dental work, but she did not. I specifically told her what my child needed done, she did not listen, and did more than what was warranted. Then, the she had the audacity to tell me that I was in the wrong, and she had discussed this prior, but again she did not. I confirmed before she did the procedure and she continued to do what she wanted, so she could probably rake in more money for the company, who knows. But hence, why the one star. Came here with my twins for their first ever dentist check up. I'm happy I was able to find Dr. Von and his team in Gilroy, thanks to Yelp. Scheduling an appointment was very easy, they were able to squeeze us in almost within a week. Reminders were consistent which I do like, I tend to forget things. The lobby was really clean and the decor was great. Very nautical/ship inspired theme. The staff were very welcoming and didn't mind my twins crying and losing their minds. Dr. Van saw my 22 month year old daughter last week for her first dentist appointment ever. Everything went super smoothly. I scheduled he appointment over the phone and all the forms were sent to us electronically. I received appointment reminders from the office by text message. The office is decorated with a fun nautical theme, which kept my daughter unafraid throughout the process. She loved looking at the fish in the tank and the decorations all over the walls. The office took particular care with COVID precautions. We called in when we arrived and the staff took us in with full protective gear. The chairs were covered with a disposable plastic and the staff all had respirators. There was also an air filter next to the chair and plenty of hand sanitizer available. Kim cleaned my daughter's teeth. She had a great chair-side manner and my daughter was very happy. I guess it helps that my daughter loves the flavor of toothpaste. :) Finally, Dr. Van came and took a look at my daughter's teeth, gave us tips for brushing, pacifier weaning, and things to look out for.
