Dinner at Gilt Bar felt like stepping into one of Gatsby's favorite haunts. The interior is stunning , moody, golden, and effortlessly glamorous. The cocktails were beautifully crafted and worth the visit alone. The food was good, but not necessarily the star of the night. What really stood out was the atmosphere and the service, both absolutely incredible. One of those places you go for the vibe as much as the meal.
Ambiance is on point, sexy, swanky, moody, vibey. Intimate little tables, big space. Long wait time, we waited about an hour and half to be seated. But the food was well worth it. We shared bone marrow and it was the best bone marrow I've had as well as the best portions! Delicious!! We also got the truffle pasta and Brussel sprouts- absolutely amazing. For the drink I forget the name but it was good, nice presentation but I would probably try a different one next time. They also had a Photo Booth downstairs on the way to the bathroom -that was a hoot. I guess they have a speakeasy downstairs as well called the library bar- but they had a private event so we couldn't check it out. Good times!
We live right around the corner from gilt bar and absolutely love it. It's always a fun ambiance and the drinks are delicious. They also have a GREAT happy hour (even on Saturdays!!!) and the food is fantastic. The mussels are mine and my husbands favorite, and we've tried mussels at lots of places. And if you want a little change of scenery, you can go to the speakeasy downstairs! There's also a fun Photo Booth right by the speakeasy. Only con is that there can be a wait later in the night.
The ambiance is very moody - dark and bougie, which is fun to go with friends! We ordered the mussels and onion rings as starters, and then the wagyu cheeseburger and spicy orrichette (spelling?). The mussels with garlic bread is amazing and the wagyu cheeseburger was delicious. It's owned by the same ppl who run Au Cheval so their burger game is great. We also got a tequila sour and the daquiri, which were good too. Also, the place is super gluten free friendly - most of the menu could be subbed for gluten free alternatives.
Came here on a recommendation from a local friend. Was warned that this place could have a long wait as they took some reservations but also allowed for walk ins as well. When I came in there was a fair amount of people who who are waiting and I put my name on the list that was number 30. The list did go down fairly quickly, however we opted to sit at the bar and had a few drinks there instead. There were three bartenders working on the bar which felt like a good amount for the size of the bar was. The bar felt fairly bespoke. And their menu seemed to be pretty good as far as the drinks. After looking over the menu I decided to get a Gold Rush and it was good enough to get more than one. We had two different bartenders make our drinks and they were slightly different. One leaning slightly more lemon heavy but both versions are pretty good. Apparently there is also a downstairs library bar that was highly recommended but when we went there was a private event. So keep that in mind if you're planning on coming to go ahead to see if anyone has booked the space. All in all nice bar. I would come here again if I was in the area.
**4.5 Stars** We've been to Gilt Bar a few times in the past year and have always had an excellent meal and great service. Gilt Bar serves as a bit of a greatest hits of all the Hogsalt restaurants. As the easiest spot to get a reservation or even a walk in, this is great, and always a wonderful stop for a nice night out. The truffle mozzarella sticks are some of the best I've had, and the brussels sprouts actually very much might be. They're excellent. Other standouts we've had are the vodka rigatoni, truffle mafaldine, and the brown butter gnocchi, seared on one side and cooked to pillowy perfection. The desserts are excellent as well. And as much as we love the sticky date cake and flourless molten lava cake at Armitage and Trivoli (key lime pie too), my hot take is that the desserts here may be the best selection of any Hogsalt spot. The carrot cake is perhaps the best I've had, and the chocolate layer cake is about as good as it gets as well. The chocolate cream pie is excellent too, you really can't go wrong. This last visit, we finally got an opportunity to dine in The Library, a pseudo speakeasy vibe in the basement. This is the way to do Gilt Bar - you get the same excellent food with an even better dining experience and even more impressive service. Our server, Lilliana, was great, and really made us feel special throughout the evening, including tossing in a complimentary ice cream and champagne. If you're lucky enough to snag a reservation, I highly recommend it - it's like having an Armitage Alehouse in the basement. Why not 5 stars? Well, compared to the other Hogsalt spots, it's a bit like really great JV to the others' varsity. This is tailored a bit more to a younger crowd, from the busy and quite cramped upstairs dining and bar area, to the insane photo booth traffic jam in the hallway to the bathroom. It's like moving through an obstacle course just to use the bathroom. I've even seen hosts grouse on their to the Library with people in line not even bothering to get out of the way. It gets old quickly. That said, if you can get past that (and you can). you're in for a great meal with excellent service.
This place made our Chicago trip truly unforgettable! The food was great, the vibe and ambiance is one of a kind and there is a hidden speakeasy called the library that really made the experience. Chase is a talented bartender and makes amazing drinks, the service was exceptional as well! I'm from Los Angeles and I would recommend this to anyone coming to Chicago! I have never found an authentic speakeasy like this where we live. I can't forget to mention the handmade pasta. I really enjoyed the ambiance at Gilt bar. They allow you to get drinks at the bar and so we did that for happy hour! It's super crowded always so make sure you grab a spot early. We tried the old fashioned and it was well made. Servers were sweet and offered some customizations to our drinks too.
I loved everything about Gilt Bar. For starters, the ambiance and decor are such a vibe. Moody, intimate, floral and with a unique artistic eye, it really set the tone for a great evening. You will definitely need a reservation, but they also offer some bar seating. Our server was friendly and all serving staff was highly attentive. The menu is about half handmade pasta dishes and half seafood and entrees with sides. For two of us we split a starter, salad, and 2 pastas. We finished it all but we were STUFFED so you could definitely do less. The portions are average size, not too large. Starting with the Tenderloin Steak Tartare, this really set the tone for a great meal. I'm a huge fan of this dish and their version was one of the best I've had. Next came the House Salad and while it's simple, the dressing just takes it to a high level. The Vodka Rigatoni is a must. The sauce is so creamy and delectably coats each handmade noodle. The Pesto Bucatini, while also tasty and a nice complement as it was lighter, just didn't pack the same flavor and wow as the other dishes. I appreciated the variety of martinis on the menu but I kept it simple with a classic Dirty Martini to go with all of the delicious food. Everyone who goes to Chicago should definitely try Gilt Bar.
The vibe and atmosphere alone make it worth a visit--dim lighting, vintage touches, and that signature Hog Salt energy that somehow feels both elevated and comfortable. The food was outstanding across the board. The steak tartare was super fresh and perfectly seasoned - my personal recommendation as the dish of the night. The Hog Salt-style burger delivered that classic smash burger they are known for. The ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection--perfect crust, tender center, and packed with flavor. And I have to call out the Brussels sprouts, which were incredible. The balsamic glaze gave them the perfect sweet-savory balance and made them one of the surprise standouts of the night. If you're looking for a spot that delivers atmosphere and unforgettable food, Gilt Bar is an easy recommendation. The only negative was despite having a reservation we still had to wait over 20min past our reservation time. They told us to wait by the bar which was packed and a little overwhelming.
Amazing dinner at Gilt Bar! For appetizers we ordered the tartare, crudo, and the truffle mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks are a must order!! I had pasta for my main and leftovers for the next day. After dinner we went downstairs to use the photo booth of course! I also had a dirty martini for dinner with blue cheese olives that was very good. Service here is standard and the ambiance is amazing. Great spot for a girls night or romantic date!
Gilt bar was probably one of my favorite memories from my Chicago trip. Not only were the drinks fantastic, mozarella sticks delicious, but the conversation was flowing so seemingly throughout the night to the point where we were one the last people there. I got the espresso martini and absolutely loved it, my partner got the 100 Year Old Cigar which was so unique and lovely. The mozarella sticks were super super delicious and we actually preferred it without the marinara sauce only because it overpowers the truffle taste. 5/5 would go back again. Our server also surprised us with ice cream at the end of the night to celebrate my graduation! P.S. don't skip the photobooth! It's $5 per strip and such a cute way to commemorate the night :)

Went to Gilt Bar in Chicago last week and of course had to order the beef tartare--and WOW. As a true beef tartare lover, I can confidently say this is one of my absolute favorites. The bread is thick, perfectly toasted, and super fresh, which pairs insanely well with the tartare. The beef itself is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the two sauces (an aioli and a hot sauce) take it to the next level. Everything just works. If you love beef tartare, do yourself a favor and order this as your appetizer--you won't regret it! read more
Double check your receipt lol. Otherwise, the vibes were nice - the interior is dark and sultry. A great spot for an intimate dinner. Our table ordered the tenderloin steak tartare, the smoked salmon caesar, the spicy orecchiette, and arugula pesto bucatini. My favorite dish was the spicy orecchiette which was not as heavy as I would've anticipated. The orecchiette had the perfect bite to it. Our trip luckily landed on Wine Wednesday, unfortunately the advertised half off wine was not applied to our bill. Definitely recommend securing a reservation ahead of time. read more
Look, I love a hog salt restaurant, and I do genuinely think that this is one of the best. It's fancy, but still chill enough that you can just roll up here and get a drink. I came with my friend on a Saturday night around 6:30 and we got drinks at the bar and stood and waited for bar seats for probably 45 minutes. We then split the burger and the service was super quick and kind. The burger was honestly really good. Haven't had the burger at monkey bar in New York. This one in my opinion was way better. The fries at all the hog restaurants are just mid to me, but the aïoli it came with was excellent. This was more of a Wagyu Smashburger with grilled onions and an incredible pickle. I was a fan! Cucumber martini, and the gin martini were excellent as well. They still have the Photo Booth downstairs and although it's no longer free, it's only five dollars which I don't think it's too bad. Honestly, just great vibes overall and I would definitely come here again for a drink or this is the perfect date spot. Had a reservation for 2 @ 4:30pm on Saturday. Was able to catch the tail end of happy hour (available daily until 5pm, even weekends!). From the HH menu: Started with 2 teeny espresso martinis - cute and dainty. Disappointedly no foam on top, but will decent for $7 Bone marrow $9 - rich but comes with one bone. Still good to grease the stomach. Mussels $12 - decent amount of mussels, garlic bread batons for dipping the remaining broth. Entrees: Vodka rigatoni $22 - quite tasty. Tasted a little bland, but good flavor. Very pretty dish, with the ripped pieces of basil. Tagliatelle Carbonara $26 - very tender strips of pasta, light sauce, and loved the chunks of hazelnuts. Very small slivers of guanciale. Prime Rib French Dip $27 - generous amount of meat on the sandwich, au just boat, okay fries, and a very delicious house-made mayo (aioli as they are calling it nowadays??). Dessert: Strawberrys and cream - cream, strawberries, and meringue plated in a beautiful mound Vanilla ice cream - complimentary as we were celebrating a birthday. Comes with mini pitcher of chocolate fudge and a very long candle. Actually saw 3 other tables celebrating birthdays/anniversaries too. Photo booth in the basement ($5 for 2 pics). Blinding flash (but the pics looked good). Screen was broken as of March 2025, so BE READY for pics!! Should really fix this... Dark and cozy interior, friendly staff, and a speakeasy below! Everything I ate here was incredible, and the espresso martini lives up to its reputation. I also really like the ambiance. The only thing I had a note on was the service, they weren't very accommodating for our large group (we had to sit at two separate tables) but then there was a group there MUCH larger than ours. I recommend the vodka rigatoni and mussels. Go for the happy hour! read more

My favorite happy hour in the city! HH is available until 5pm daily; I would recommend coming on the earlier side or making a reservation in advance as it gets very busy and packed fast. $6 wines/beer and $7 martinis! Some of my favorite dishes were the single wood fired bone marrow and steamed mussels. So worth as you can order many different dishes and share with the table without it being too pricey. Gilt Bar also has a photobooth downstairs for $5 for 2 strips! Loved the cozy/vintage ambiance and we always have a great time here! read more
I don't post every time I come here but this night we had the mozz sticks, orriechette, vodka rigatoni, vezuvio potatoes, Brussels all to share family style between 3 people and I was rolling out of here stuffed! Everything was so so good. Gilt bar is serving some of the best pasta in the city. And we ate it too quick for a picture but the cookie skillet is to die for!!!! Seriously was so full and ordered the cookie anyways and had no regrets. read more

A pricy meal but cool vibes and everything was quite good. I personally don't think it's worth the tik tok hype & not the worth the wait but if you can snag or seat or get a late reservation, I'd recommend it for a group outing or date night! Photobooth is downstairs by the bathrooms. Ambiance (5/5): beautiful vintage decor and everything is dimly lit. Booths are cozy and there's plenty of seating. Once again, perfect for a date night or a girls night out. As someone who is chronically sleep deprived I was pretty sleepy by the end of time there LOL Service (4/5): Friendly and attentive. Our server always checked in on us and made sure everything was set up beautifully. Food: Onion Rings (4/5): these were crispy and I love that the whole onion doesn't just fall out. The onion flavor is great too. The chili ?ranch? It came with was also great and added some creaminess. They were personally a touch oily for me but the table enjoyed! Smoked Salmon Caesar (5/5): I had this at trivoli as well and it hit the second time. If you like salmon and you like Caesar salad it's a must! The dressing itself is creamy and not too fishy which makes the salmon not over bearing. Lettuce is crisp and pairs so well with the croutons. Not life changing but a good salad to have for the table. Vodka Rigatoni (7/10): solid vodka pasta option but I've had better - for $23 you get a plate of pasta with no protein which I think is disappointing for the portion of pasta you get Bev: Tequila Sour (4.5/5): I asked for mine extra sweet and it was perfect :) not a big alcohol enthusiast but it was a solid option Overall, we had a great experience but nothing crazy special worth queuing for. read more

Great spot for dinner, whether it's date night or night out with the girlies. This is a sister restaurant to Trivoli Tavern. Super dim lighting All in all, great food! We ordered the mozzarella sticks, the house salad, and the onion rings for the apps. We ordered the Truffle pasta and the Vodka Pasta with sausage twice! The vodka is a must order. Friendly staff and always coming to the table to get dirty plates or refill water. The best part, is that they have a Photo Booth downstairs by the bathrooms. Such a cool idea and just a nice memory! read more

I wasn't that excited about Gilt Bar but I was really proven wrong. Anytime I see a restaurant on my TikTok feed just a little too much, I tend to be skeptical. You do not need to be skeptical of Gilt Bar. My boyfriend and I started with a round of martinis and onion rings, which were really lovely and really set us up for success. For dinner we switched to Daisies (which I really really recommend) and had the Tagliatelle Carbonara which was the star of the night! Overall we had a great evening and it was worth all the hype. We had a group of 6 and sat in a round comfy booth. This restaurant is dim lit with a rich cozy feel. We tried several appetizers and split the wedge salad. Everyone 110% loved each of them. Had a great night at Gilt Bar with some friends. Service was attentive but not overbearing. We opted to order a few things for each sitting and sample between the four of us. I left stuffed. Our server was great in recommending items to fill out our selections. Gilt bar has great vibes. Dark but perfectly lit. It was packed but somehow not loud. A fun spot to dress up for, but not pretentious. We started with a few apps: - wood fired bone marrow - not sure how I'd rate this. It was my first time having bone marrow and it was ok but unsure if I'd ever opt to try again. Presentation was 10/10 though. And they brought extra bread for us! - fried onion rings - 8/10 definitely delish. Crunchy but doesn't fall apart when you bite into it. Unique for sure. - truffle mozzarella sticks - 10/10. Whole group agreed this was a must order and a really elevated take on mozz sticks. Umami was huge on these. For entrees we ordered: - double Wagyu cheeseburger - 8/10 basically an au Cheval burger. Maybe with the wagyu a bit more on the oily, fatty side compared to au Cheval. Really good, well balanced, juicy and savory. But also you can just go to au Cheval and save a few bucks. - truffle Malfaldine - 7/10 more truffle! Even more umami. Really tasty. We all agreed this was solid but a bit high on the salt side and was missing something to balance out the huge umami flavor. This was so rich, I'm not sure I could finish the whole plate if it was my only entree. - vodka rigatoni - 10/10 star of the night. Vodka sauce was mind blowing. This is a must order. In fact, order two. Finally we sampled two items for dessert: - gooey skillet cookie 7/10 - cookie baked in a skillet served with vanilla ice cream. Really good choice to cap off the night. - chocolate layer cake 6/10 - pretty rich and deep chocolate cake. Very good but I've been spoiled by Gibsons chocolate cake too many times and I'm a snob for it now. Overall Gilt Bar is a must visit for any foodie in Chicago. The first thing I noticed was how dark it was. It was super dark. We're actually had to use cell phone lights to see the menu. Katrina was our server she was very helpful and informative about the menu. I ordered the Airmail and salmon along with potatoes and asparagus. Everything was good. Everything we had was blasting with flavor. The service was great, the drinks were solid. Stopped here for dinner with a coworker. There is actually a speakeasy here as well but you will want to book reservations so that can get down there on Wednesday of each week. Truffle cheese sticks were good, not too much truffle flavor. The bone marrow portion was pretty large with 5 bones. I opted for the lentils and pork belly, couldn't have been happier with my choice. I washed that down with a cookie skillet and carrot cake. We ventured to Guilt Bar for HH and truly had a phenomenal time. Our waitress was incredibly kind and despite a mix up with reservations, they were able to seat us on the patio promptly. There's definitely a 4pm rush of either people who don't have resys or made a late resy nevertheless the check in line only took a few minutes. The interior of the restaurant is stunning. We had the HH teeny tinis and they were excellent. We snacked on the stuff mushrooms and onion rings. The stuffed mushrooms were very heavily fried, so I would skip those if you were looking for a vegetable. The onion rings were very tasty. I'm looking forward to retuning. read more

I was in town for The Warriors vs Bulls game, and had dinner here on a Thursday. Rolled in around 8 with my 2 business partners. We had an 8:00 reservation. We had to wait maybe 5 minutes. Had a really nice booth. First impressions were great ambiance. Great Vibes in here. Everything we ordered was absolutely spot on smokeshow good. Started with onion rings. Amazing hot and crunchy. Followed with a Wedge salad. Loved the egg and thick cut bacon in the salad. Really fresh tasting. We then got the Spicy Rigatoni and the Wagyu Burger. Wow, were these delicious. The Spicy Rigatoni was phenomenal. The burger really was fire. Tasted like an upscale version of a famous burger from California that has the intials D.D. IFYKYK. If I could give one constructive criticism it's on the Old Fashioned. It's just ok. Way too much ice. Would modify that to a big cube. I had a few. Beer: Good choices. I LOVED that they offer a house light or dark beer in an ice cold mug for 5 bucks. Great Value and idea. I got the light which is Trumer Pilsner. Super Solid Beer. Service wise everything was perfect. Our server was super friendly and efficient. I wish I remembered her name. All the staff were great. Best dinner I had in Chicago. Great place. Would definitely return next time I'm in town. 5 stars and highly recommended. read more

I've been to Gilt Bar about three or four times, and the atmosphere is always what brings me back. The space is stunning and romantic, and I love the bar area along with the lower level that has a photobooth. The food hasn't really stood out to me, even though I've tried a few different dishes, but the servers have always been nice. It does get busy, so sometimes it takes a bit before your server can get to you. I'll definitely come back again to try their martinis next time. read more

What a swanky, fun place for pre-dinner cocktails! We were hoping to make it into the Library basement speakeasy, but without reservations, there was a long wait at 7PM. There is a cool, prohibition-feeling bar on the side when you walk in, and bar seating is first come, first serve. After waiting a few minutes, we got a great spot near the window. The hubby and I ordered espresso martinis (definitely one of the more expensive ones we've ordered, but hey - when in Chicago) and it was really nice! While we didn't make it to the Library bar, we got to enjoy a nice cocktail in a beautiful Chicago bar. read more

Originally came to this area because we wanted to go to Ciccio Mio, but with no reservations The Gilt Bar took us in immediately. The seating and restaurant vibe are probably one of the nicest I've seen with dim lighting, candle light and very soft throw pillows around the bench seating, but not so much that you feel like you're eating on a sofa. We got 2 martinis, the truffle mozzarella sticks, the smoked salmon caesar salad, and the vodka sauce pasta. The mozzarella sticks are worth a try, but I probably wouldn't get them again if I went back. The truffle scent is there, but taste wise it gets overpowered by everything else eventually. I probably would've like it more if there were more stiff/structured. The dirty martini wasn't my favorite as it was a bit more vodka than dirty. The pasta and caesar salad were delicious. read more
My husband and I were visiting from Out of town and didn't have a reservation. Their website says they take walk ins for "the library" which is their speakeasy, so we figured we try it. We got put on the waitlist as the only ones on the list. we asked how long the wait is and was told they didn't have an exact time. So we decided to have a drink at the restaurant bar. After waiting 45 min with no update we decided to give up and walk back to our hotel which was close by, as we walked into our hotel room we got a text saying our table was ready. It was exactly 1 hr on the dot. I'm a little skeptical that it was exactly an hr. Felt like there was a little dishonesty of how long the wait would actually be, especially if we were the only ones on the waitlist. Soo I would recommend having a reservation. Otherwise you'll be waiting at least an hr, This was also a Monday night at 10pm. read more
The best birthday dinner ever!! I've been wanting to snag a res here for so long. And so happy we got seated downstairs in the library cause the upstairs was packed and loud. The ambience is dark, moody, sophisticated and intimate - I loved every detail! Love that they have a photo booth which only costs $5! Decided not to do restaurant week cause some of the stuff we wanted to try wasn't on the pre fixed menu. But everything we ordered was phenomenal! Started strong with the $25 truffle mozzarella sticks - I was hesitant at first but they were so so good! The vodka rigatoni was the perfect al dente. My fiance's steak was cooked to perfection with so much flavor. We shared the mussels and the garlic broth was so good I was eating it like soup HAHA. And to finish, they gave me complimentary salted caramel ice cream for my birthday and we got the cookie skillet as well! Dinner was so good me and my fiancé passed out right away once we got home! This was my first time here and though the staff was friendly it felt very rushed and pushy for us to leave. We came for happy hour at 4pm. We were greeted by the hostess, a server and another employee who seemed like the front of house manager. We looked over the menus put in a drink order and a couple appetizers. The staff made sure to keep our waters full but the busser was quite eager to take our dishes and glasses away even though we weren't finished. This person came around SO often that our conversation kept being interrupted from either clearing the table or asking if we were finished. Their attitude came off cold and was not an inviting feel. We ordered a second round of drinks and appetizers and again we kept having this same issue. The teeny tini's had jumbo olives. The onion rings were nice and came with a huge side of sauce. The mussels smelt amazing. The fries were less impressive- bland. The garlic aioli that was pair with them was nice though. Honestly, I probably won't come back because I'd like to enjoy my happy hour and not feel rushed. read more

We went for an anniversary dinner, in The Library . The ambiance was beautiful. It gave speakeasy vibes. The service was phenomenal. Our server was attentive and not overbearing. She made nice recommendations. For food, we had the branzino, truffle pasta, and the smoked salmon Caesar salad. All were delicious. We wished that we had room for dessert. This is one of my favorite romantic restaurants in the city. I always try to get a spot down in the basement when I can. It's super dark and quiet and feels special. The food is always delicious, as expected from a Hogsalt place. I especially love the bone marrow! The orecchiette is my favorite pasta dish of anywhere ever. Went to Gilt Bar for a celebratory dinner today & it was AMAZING! Service was excellent and the food was great. We went during happy hour & ordered: onion rings (4/5), a little oily but the aioli makes up for it bone marrow (5/5!!!) we ordered another because it was just that good. The onions, parsley, and bread with the bone marrow makes the perfect bite carbonara (4/5) handmade pasta was great but wasn't anything special compared to the bone marrow cheeseburger slider (5/5) solid burger & sauce! strawberries and cream (5/5) loved the meringue raspberry sorbet (5/5) really good sorbet & im usually not that big of a raspberry person...also was complimentary! We also ordered the old fashioned (really good especially for $8 during hh), the gummilicious IPA, & 100 year old cigar (smoky & sweet)! The atmosphere alone is worth coming here. We had library seating which was perfect! We paid $5 for a reservation fee for a 9pm dinner time but we had to wait 10 min after our reservation time without any updates. The food was SO GOOD but I wish one of our pasta dishes were a bit warmer. I enjoyed one of our martinis we got but the tuxedo martini tasted only of alcohol and was not enjoyable to drink. The happy hour here is worth every bit of the hype. Reservations are a must. The decor indoors is gorgeous. Their HH menu includes some sliders, appetizers and drinks. They do a mini espresso martini for $7. For appetizers we ordered the bone marrow, onion rings, stuffed mushrooms, french fried potatoes and all were delicious. For mains we split two pastas between four of us: the pesto bucatini and the truffle mafaldine. All the food and drinks were delicious. Definitely add this place to your list. read more
So, I'm extra critical of Tik Tok viral places because most the time they are over-hyped. We originally wanted a reservation at Trivoli Tavern however I was 30 minutes late to their opening and it was already fully booked! I knew Gilt Bar was owned by the same company as Trivoli Tavern so when I saw a few remaining reservations open, I jumped quick!! Reservations open at 9am, 21 days before your desired date. I logged on 21 days prior at 9:30 and only had 4:30pm or 10pm open. We went with 4:30pm and I couldn't be happier that we did!! Even though it was a Saturday, all their happy hour deals were available. We got $19 glasses of wine for $6!!! And the onion rings were half price! As a plus, they were the best onion rings we have ever had! As for the mains, it doesn't get much better than what we had. The vodka rigatoni really does live up to the hype. Each noodle was filled with the creamy vodka sauce which caused an explosion of awesomeness after each bite! David's prime rib sandwich was the epitome of flavor. It also comes with fries and a garlic aioli. The ambiance of Gilt Bar was awesome as well. It's dark and moody (just the way I like my restaurants)! Wish we lived in chicago so we could come here more often! Definitely check this place out the next time you are visiting chicago. Just don't forget to set a reminder for reservations! read more

The wine menu is by the bottle. If you want to see glass options you should look at the dinner and cocktail menu
Is there a specific dress code?
No but you wanna look sharp in a place where you feel like it's the 1920/30's. We opted to dress up but casual is acceptable as well
Is there parking available?
There is metered parking right around the corner from the entrance on both sides of the street.

They have a full vegetarian menu, just ask your server. We tried vodka sauce pasta and plum tomato sauce pasta, liked vodka sauce one a lot!
Is there a dress code?
No. While most were sharply dressed, there were people in jeans and golf shirts. A few in coats & ties. You might feel uncomfortable in shorts. Very dark interior and unless you are at the bar looking to meet people, I would not worry about it.
