It was an early morning and we were looking for MIMOSAS and MIMOSAS we found. This venue is such a friendly neighborhood spot that is so inviting!!!!!! I ordered a mimosa with grapefruit juice. Delicious! The meal was a veggie skillet. Yummers. Simple, hearty and my belly was pleased. The service was nice. Kind, attentive, and helpful. Look, a breakfast place should not be hard work. This place was everything I needed and I will he returning. Customer service- A+! Food- A+. Sips!!??!! A+! Please check out this lovely quaint spot. You will not be disappointed!

I've been wanting to try Gina's for a long time and now I'm kicking myself for not coming here sooner. The restaurant was warm and inviting and the staff was lovely. I had the Irish Skillet with poached eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns were super crispy (very important lol) and they even offer gluten free toast or pancakes as a side.

Eggs Benedict with house made hash-browns that were delicious!

Breakfast (brunch) spots seem like a slam dunk to me if you are a restaurant owner. The "keep it simple" principle seems to lend itself perfectly to neighborhood breakfast restaurants. Offer some steak and eggs, some Benedicts, some skillets, stuff from the griddle and maybe a page or so at the back of your menu featuring some sandwiches for lunch. Open the place from 7 am to 3 pm or so, and have plenty of servers and busboys so the food comes out fast and efficiently. Gina's Teardrop Cafe in New Lenox pretty much nailed it when we recently visited on a Sunday morning. We were joined by some friends, so there were 7 in our party. We waited for 10 minutes for a table, and the place was hoppin'. None of us had been here before, but we all got the feeling this was the norm for a weekend crowd at this place. The inside tastefully decorated and cozy. It looks like it occupies two units in a strip mall, so it seats quite a few people. We were warmly greeted by our server and she had drinks on the table inside of 3 minutes. These places make their money by turning tables, but we never felt rushed. That being written, within like 10 minutes our food was delivered - hot and exactly as ordered. I went with a Spinach, Artichoke and Grilled Chicken Panini - the only one at the table who ordered off their lunch menu. Other items ordered were Eggs Benedict, a Mexican Skillet, Biscuits and Gravy, Breakfast Tacos & French Toast. The amount of food Gina's gives you for your money is pretty impressive. In a world where many restaurants are downsizing their portions as they raise their prices, Gina's really delivers value for your dollars. The other good news is that they aren't sacrificing quality for quantity. Aside from my sandwich, all the food ordered was really good. There was nothing wrong with my panini, it just lacked flavor. Could've used a sauce of some kind. However, it was a huge portion, and it was cooked really well. It also came with a complimentary bowl of soup - notice I wrote "bowl" because that's exactly what it was. Not a cup, but a bowl of cream of chicken and rice soup. The soup was exactly what you would expect - creamy and delicious with a hint of lemon. Really good. My wife ordered the breakfast tacos. They gave her 3 tacos with scrambled eggs and chorizo and it also came with hash browns. They were delicious, but so big that she could only eat one. My daughter ordered the Eggs Benedict, and again, it was exactly as it should be. Another stand out was the Mexican skillet. Tons of eggs, cheese, veggies and chorizo. Delicious. Everyone at the table was more than satisfied with our breakfast, and our experience definitely validated the crowds and the positive Yelp! reviews. Perfect neighborhood breakfast spot.

Great place, the food is amazing and the drinks are great! Cranberry mimosas are the best! Fried chicken is a must try (hint - ask for them on your eggs Benedict).

Great food, great service. Relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed it! Very open and inviting people. Owner was on sight. Made us feel welcome! Thank you!

A couple kinds of French toast. Scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, country fried steak, bacon, ham, corned beef hash, lots of potato casseroles, waffles, two kids of French toast...it just goes on and on. And then you have a full salad area with fresh fruit !! Oh and did I mention an entire buffet of pastries? Donuts, cinnamon rolls, danishes, muffins. It just kept going !!! Everything was fresh and replenished and delicious. The only thing I'd pass on was the Bloody Mary bar. Not a lot of stuffs. Cold chicken nuggets, bacon, green olives, some sad pickle spears, lemon wedges, celery, kielbasa, that was pretty much it. Would Have like to have seen cheese cubes or maybe some shrimp. But it was not bad, just nothing to write home about. All in all for 20.00 a person for food (I don't remember what the bloody bar was) it was a good deal. And they do it daily, not just on the weekends!!!

We had some dietary restrictions at our table, so there were some special orders, and she absolutely nailed every single one of them. As soon as you had three sips from your coffee cup, she was there to offer you a refill. The table maintenance was impeccable. So many restaurants nowadays miss the mark on this. She was expedient, ultra friendly, without making you feel rushed. The food was cooked perfectly and for breakfast food, very delicious. I say that because I can't tell you how many breakfast restaurants screw up the very basic foods that compromise the simplest meal of the day, in my opinion. Yet, there are so many places that just don't get it right. Kup A Joe definitely is not one of those places. The portions were massive, and well worth the money! If you were looking for a place to go to have a nice sit down breakfast, this is your spot! Well done!
