Gina is also very accommodating and offers a wide variety of services and products. She was warm and friendly, and seemingly knew what she was doing. I went in for a lash tint and lift, which I'd never had before (but have had extensions), and she jumped right into it. I had to ask her about the process, the care, etc. - which I thought was a little odd since most technicians will tell you best way to take care of your lashes after the service. I also found out the hard way, that she should have done a patch test to see if I had a reaction to the chemicals... I now have 2 heavily infected eyes from the process, and a bacterial infection in both as well. I emailed her twice to find out if she had other clients with reactions, but never received a response. read more

I am so happy I took a chance with Gina. I bought the living social coupon and have been going back every time for her brazilian sugaring service. The location is small but easy to find and I was surprised to see that her business is not your everyday salon. She works out of a rented space with other independent salon owners, so when you walk in there is no receptionist or pressure to make purchases from a retail store. I have experienced hard and soft waxes at a variety of locations performed by a variety of estheticians and wanted to try something new. Gina was so nice to explain the difference and benfits of surgaring to me. I am also a licensed esthetician, but very new to the industry. I paid close attention to her sanitation practices, hair removal technique and bedside manner. I must say that she is a pro and always remembers me when I come in. There is also a rewards system for return guests. In addition, she offers a full menu of skin care services using Dermologica which I have not tried yet, but from the looks of her skin she must know what she's doing. My friends are always telling me about their disappointing results with conventional waxing services; broken hairs left in the follicle, ingrowns, and sensitivity. I just tell them to give Gina a call and they will not be disappointed. Her hours are limited so I would recommend making an appointment at least a week in advance. The service is a bit on the pricey side with 2 dollar signs, but I really believe that the nearly painless and quick service (no more than 10mins for a brazilian!) along with the long lasting results are completely worth it. read more

Booked an appointment a couple days beforehand, and the only confirmation I got was from yelp confirming my appointment was booked. The day of my appointment, I get an email and a text from Gina asking to confirm my appointment. I responded to the email right away (within 10 minutes) as I saw the email first. I noticed the text am hour later and texted her that I confirmed via email earlier. She then texts me "I will not be there. Sorry." Is it common practice to email your clients to confirm and then just not plan to show up anyways? She didn't respond to my email, which I responded IMMEDIATELY to. If she knew she was not going to be there, why did she wait until I text her an hour later to tell me that? She claims an email was sent from her booking system asking to confirm 2 days ago. I searched my email and did not see it. I booked through yelp and the only email I have is yelp confirming it was booked. Regardless, I will not be booking another appointment with her. Sad to say as I was really looking forward to my appointment. read more

Gina is amazing!!! Found her through Amazon Local for the Sugaring Brazilian special. I've only had a Brazilian wax two times from two different places. Both times were HORRIBLE. I never went back to either places because it hurt SOOO bad and I was SO embarrassed by my reaction! I heard that sugaring is less painful, so I decided to give it a shot. Gina was right on time for my appointment and very professional. I let her know about my past experiences with waxing and she was very sweet. She did her best to keep me distracted by talking throughout the sugaring. To my pleasant surprise, the sugaring wasn't nearly as painful as the prior waxing experiences. Don't get me wrong, it is still uncomfortable, but Gina was so fast it was definitely tolerable. I will definitely be back in the next month or so to keep up with the maintenance. read more

Like most other people, I got one of the deals for the Sugaring. I knew I needed to get it together and get this done since I was leaving for Cancun! So I called and made an appointment. Gina texted me the night before (love it!) to confirm that I was coming...gosh, I love the invention of the text message! I wandered in about 5 minutes before my appointment. Just a forewarning, Gina shares the office with a few other people. She has her own room in the office, but when you walk in there is a reception area where clients waiting for a variety of beauty/health services can wait. Since I came on a Friday, no one was in the reception area. Gina is really nice, and pretty quick about what she does. She was good at keeping a conversation with me which was really nice because sugaring hurts! And I'm not just being a baby, that 'ish is uncomfortable! I have had brazilians before with just regular wax, and this is definitely a different level of unpleasantness. Sugaring is done more at room temperature than hot, which I think makes it more noticeable when she's removing hair because there is no heat to distract you! Without the coupon, it is fairly expensive (which I notice because I'm a poor working girl) so I doubt I would be able to do it very often, but since Gina is so nice I don't think I will bother with trying out anyone else. Even if it means I have to stick with the sugaring. read more

It was my first sugaring experience and when I found out it was all natural, I loved it even more. I won't go back to regular waxing and would definitely come back again. I would have given 5 stars, but there was a small inconvenience when I arrived for my appointment. I showed up about 2 mins early, but there was no one around the salon to check me in. It looked completely deserted, didn't sound like anyone was around, and the doors were opened. I waited 5 mins, then called Gina and left a voice message. Checked my email to see if maybe we might have gotten the appt days mixed up. 10 mins later, I took a guess and decided to knock on one of the doors that said "Do not Disturb," I felt incredibly rude to knock if anyone was even inside, but I was being impatient... I wasn't sure If I was going to be seen or not. Turns out she was inside with a client. When they were through, Gina was very nice and attentive. She was backed up because one of her previous clients showed up late. The least she could have done was notified me before hand or stepped outside at our appt time to let me know. It wouldn't have bothered me. I just didn't know what was going on and the place looked deserted. read more

Gina is great! I had my ears candles by her, which I'd been curious about for ages but hadn't had a chance to try. After suffering through a flu and enduring congestion so bad it left me with dulled hearing, this procedure actually improved my hearing immediately and felt amazing! After a bad experience with Brazilian waxing, I was excited to try sugaring but wanted to make sure I went to someone that would do it right...Gina to the rescue! Scheduling with Gina was a breeze. I saw on Yelp she takes appointment by text so I heard back from Gina immediately and was able to get an appointment around the date I wanted. My actual appointment was so quick and easy. I had two services done and was in an out of there in less than half an hour. Sugaring was just what I had hoped for, quick and painless and little to no irritation afterwards (much different from my Brazilian experience where the wax burnt and my skin was irritated for nearly a week). Some reviews mentioned Gina being standoffish but I did not see her that way at all. Gina was extremely pleasant and friendly. Talking with me the whole time and making the whole experience even better. Gina's done it again!!! And yes its been two years since I've updated my review, but hey it's also been at least two years since I last visited Gina. Well she moved rooms on me again, LoL. All a great thing though. The bathroom is conveniently located in the room with a divider. She still has her soothing music playing while you are there for whatever it may be. For myself my review is on the Brazilian Sugaring. She is absolutely the best. Even after two years she knows when I say I can't handle the pain that I need to just suck it up and finish, LoL. I always get my blonde lashes tinted before going to Hawaii, but I have been disappointed by the last tints I have gotten since moving out to WC, even from some upscale salons.... So I went searching on yelp for lash tints in Walnut Creek, hoping to find something new and hopefully better. Gina came up, with glowing reviews from everyone about her sugaring and a few of her other services. Although lash tinting and sugaring really have nothing to do with one another, I had such confidence from the other reviewers about Gina's skill in general, that I thought I would give her a whirl. I was not let down! The salon itself is very clean, cozy and comfortable, and this is the very first time I have ever had a lash tint where my eyes didn't burn one second during the process, and only for about two minutes when Gina was cleaning my lashes at the end (which is virtualy inevitable). Plus, Gina took extra care to make sure all of my lashes were covered well, and I even have a little eye liner effect - an added bonus! My lashes look beautiful, the price was perfect, and I will definitely be back. That being said, I HIGHLY recommend Gina for a lash tint. Theresia D. had recommended Gina to me a long time ago, so I decided to test her out yesterday for my first bikini wax. The best part was that she was able to fit me in last minute, and I could set up the appointment with her via text. I also texted her once I parked to let her know I was almost there. The waiting room was very comfortable and had magazines, water, and tea bags. Her room was nicely decorated and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I love that she did my eyebrows with me laying down, rather than me sitting up. She uses the sugaring technique instead of traditional wax. I definitely noticed the difference when she did my eyebrows, since I have been getting my eyebrows waxed for fifteen years. For the bikini area, I had nothing to compare it to, but I tried to prepare for the worst. I have to add that I am eight months pregnant, and supposedly pregnant women are more sensitive to waxing due to the increased blood flow and hormones. The actual procedure in the bikini area was pure torture, but on the plus side there was absolutely no pain once it was over. I will definitely go back on a regular basis once I have had the baby. No more razor burn and the convenience of someone doing it for you is worth 30 minutes of torture. For a first time bikini wax, there is a lot of potential for a traumatic experience. Gina's sugaring is on par with other sugarings I've had, but her personality is off. She is a bit standoffish, and curt at times. She was trying to be friendly, but was just barely so. When going for a brazilian, having a warm and friendly provider helps makes the painful part easier to get through. Sadly I didn't find this at Gina's. I work in a customer service job myself and even on days when I'm down, you put on a happy smile until you get off work. read more

I've been going to Gina for sugaring for about 6 months now and I love it! I definitely recommend sugaring over waxing. The process is much less painful.. I just resort to taking an ibprofin before. I am seven months pregnant and about five months in - I could no longer see to groom myself properly. I had waxes in the past, but wanted to try something different and hopefully less painful. I had heard about sugaring but couldn't find anyone local - except Gina. Not only is she the only one I found who does it - but she was great. I've had some pretty horrible waxing experiences, so I was a bit apprehensive that this may not be all that and a bag of chips BUT I was pleasantly surprised. Finally, a sugarer in the Bay Area! I have dark, thick, and coarse black hair and sugar works much better on me than wax. My hair doesn't come in as thick and it takes much longer to come in. First off, I have to say that I am SO happy to have found Gina. I bought a Living Social Voucher for a full brazilian sugaring treatment, which I scheduled right before my trip to Hawaii. Due to incredibly painful experiences in the past (I have tried both regular wax and hard wax) I was terrified to go in for this appointment. Right away, Gina put me at ease and explained how the sugaring would work. I was shocked (in a good way) during the treatment at how painless it was compared to regular waxing!! Gina was excellent about talking to me the entire time, which helped to distract me from the pain and she always applied pressure to the area after waxing, which made a huge difference as well. Overall, I couldn't have been happier with my experience. It's been almost three weeks since my sugaring appointment and I am still very happy with how everything looks. I was able to wear a teeny tiny bikini the entire time I was in Hawaii and did not have to worry about touching up my bikini line with a razor. Also, I don't have any ingrown hairs (note: the sugaring helps to exfoliate the area!). I'd been having trouble with allergies to mascara so had my eyelashes tinted at icandy which was disappointing as there were spots missed and by the next day there didn't seem to be a noticeable difference in the way my lashes looked. Also my eyes burned really bad upon opening which I think is typical there. Anyway a week later I decided to spend the extra $5 to have my lashes tinted by Gina who explained that she tints the bottom lashes first to make sure they get equal coverage. The results were so much better and three weeks later my lashes are still looking good! Also my eyes didn't burn at all after opening them. Gina is a miracle worker! My daughter went to see her due to acne break outs-My daughter had tried many products with little results. Would go to NO one else in the East-Bay but Gina. She is professional and excellent at her trade. I had never done sugaring which is an alternative to waxing and I will never go back to waxing again after 20 years of wax. The sugaring is less-painful and the results better and longer between. I had the sugaring over three weeks ago and the hair is just popping the surface which is unheard of with wax. I cant wait to get a facial soon. The reviews led me to set up an appointment - which we did within 20 minutes via text message - for this morning at 9. She tinted my lashes and brows and told me I didn't need brow sugaring, when I would have happily paid for if she had recommended it! The results were great, the environment - though not fancy - was relaxing, Gina was pleasant, professional, and efficient, and I LOVE the results. The definition around my eyes (I'm naturally blonde lashed and browed) will save me so much time...it looks like I'm wearing 15 minutes worth of eye makeup!
