We had our uncles matted cat and it was extreme! Ginger got us in immediately and was excellent! Her calm nature was so helpful and the cat was happy and relaxed as she got to work clipping the problem area off. He is as good as new with his cleared off back. He is purring and enjoying the fresh breeze and pets on his back now! We will definitely be back with our dogs in the future! Highly recommend!! read more

Ginger is a wonderful groomer. Our Charlie Girl is treated so well and comes back looking like a million bucks! In between full grooms we take her for a nail trim and an eye/butt clean up for like $10! read more

It all depends on Debbie's mood & I guess how she got out of bed that day.....I found her happy as a lark at times, right down to very cold & angered she had to groom my babies her work was up to par as good as average I guess however after having 4 little ones going to her for many years not to mention a small fortune along with tipping her well one day she just said to me I don't wanna do this anymore & I asked her what she meant and she said your dogs I walked out very baffled & confused cause it was her loss My dogs are very well behaved and I can spend my money elsewhere and get treated better in the long run that's for sure! read more

We love Debbie and the excellent job she does in grooming our pups. We have a King Charles and we like to keep his hair short, she has developed quite a bond with him and he enjoys going to her. The other dog just goes for a bath and nails and she is always super excited when we drop off. The place is always very clean and the rates are very affordable! read more

We had no problem with Ginger's Pet Cuttery. Her flat affect may not be to everyone's liking but my puppy liked her. She even recommended a trainer for us that we absolutely loved. Our puppy definitely needed some one on one trainer time. She did a nice job with the grooming and even gave him a toy. No, she does not do large breeds, only small. read more

Moved to Boothwyn so needed to find a groomer closer than our previous in Trolley Square. Read a few negative reviews so initially I was hesitant when I called, but our experience was the total opposite from those and very positive. Ginger (not sure if that's her name?) was able to fit us in on a Friday. Dropped our dog off at 8:30 and received a call he was ready a few hours later. He is a 10lb poodle mix with essentially a poodle coat. Honestly was one of, if not the, best haircuts he received. She did exactly as we asked by keeping his face, tail and ears cut shorter than most Cavapoos. Her prices are competitive, slightly less expensive than our previous groomer- payment was cash or check. More importantly, our pup is very timid and wary of other people and dogs, but he did great with her. I was able to observe him in the back area with my view from the lobby before he or she saw me and he seemed very comfortable and happy. I also saw her working on other dogs when I dropped off and picked up and they were very comfortable and happy as well- none of the negative things I read from other reviews. He was his usually happy and loving self when we picked him up and later at home. Can't speak to others experience and whether that's valid, but keep in mind not everyone is an extrovert, you may have caught them in a stressful situation or time, or you are hearing just one side of the story. Different personalities can be interpreted different ways and are dependent on your perspective. From mine, she handled our dog and two other dogs in a very caring way and she was extremely kind, patient and professional with me. We will definitely be back. read more

UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL I am appalled by my experience at Ginger's Pet Cuttery this weekend. Both my larger dogs are rescued and elderly and this was told to Ginger prior to the appointment. (My other dogs have had a grooming here before too) Upon arriving to the appointment, our dogs were excited but the second we stepped into this place their demeanor changed. We were not welcomed, but instead given orders to step to the side and wait. We waited and then my first dog was taken back for their nail trimming. To my horror, I heard my dog squealing, crying, and barking out of her mind along with other dogs. I tried to remind myself that Ginger was busy and overwhelmed and the dogs were excited, yet her treatment of my dog was UNACCEPTABLE. As I waited with my second dog in the lobby, I heard "stop that!" "No DONT do that!" to my other dog who was getting the nail trim, along with her crying. Ginger came stomping out to declare that "your dog shit everywhere! I cannot trim their nails" and abruptly let my dog out of the grooming area and into the lobby. This was beyond unprofessional and not okay! Before our appointment, our dogs weight/breed/demeanor was all given to Ginger upon her agreeing to the appointment! If she cannot handle a dog having an accident (sorry they get excited or nervous, but this happens to every dog and many different places!!) then she shouldn't have a pet Cuttery. My dog is a rescue from an abusive owner and she was shaking after this interaction. It's not okay to raise a voice to any dog when you chose to do this as your business. It makes me question all the other times my dogs went here for grooming appointments. Has she always been this way? I am so upset!!! Never going there again! read more

Zero stars! Gingers Pet Cuttery in Claymont Delaware. Horrific experience. My small dog had a hair cut here in the past. Close to my house and at pick up the haircut was nice. Several other fuzzy dogs were also there for grooming. Yesterday, I made an appointment for a simple nail clipping for my 2 larger dogs - nails only. Advised the owner both of my other dogs are over 40 pounds and strong. Which shouldn't matter in the first place but I felt an important factor. The owner basically confirmed she could cut both my dogs nails..that's it a nail clipping. Nothing too difficult for a so called groomer. The owners brother also works there and assists her in the grooming process. My first dog went back with her ( taking her off my double dog leash and placing a lead on her) as I waited in the lobby with my second dog - per her request for no distraction on my dogs part. After about 30 seconds all I hear is my dog squirming, and whimpering as she yells "knock it off". She then comes to the lobby, let's my dog in the lobby with no leash (close to the front door) and says "I can't do either of your dogs. Your dog shit all over my floor" obviously during the struggle to hold her down and the nails still not complete. What professional says or does this? I said she's never done this during before (via my vets office) I scattered to leash my dog on the double leash I brought both my dogs in on. She then said "if I can clean this shit up, maybe I can do the second dog" I then took both my dogs (my babies) and left. I stated I will take my dogs another day somewhere else. I was dumbfounded. Never again. From now on, I will always take my dogs to my vet or high class well known salon moving forward. This makes me question the treatment of all the dogs especially my small dog if they resist in any way when I wasn't there. She asks that you not wait and she'll call you when complete for haircuts. Since she can overpower small or larger docile dogs this makes sense. If you are unqualified to handle large dogs do not confirm you can. I'm so upset. I feel like a bad parent taking my dogs to a place where the owners behavior is questionable. Do not go here! read more

Fur babies parents beware..If I could give this groomer 0 stars I would. I just moved in the area and decided to take my 13 yr old cockapoo there bcz it was near my home. Only needed a bath, nails and sanitary. WHAT A MISTAKE! not only did she do a bad job, she left poop on his butt. She had the nerve to tell me as soon as I walked in to pick him up, how horrible he was and loud too! I was so embarrassed and apologetic to say the least. I told her I've never gotten a bad report before, her answer was, "they lied to you". I called and asked her if she even washed my dog bcz there was poop on his bottom. She said yes I did. He was so bad I was afraid to let anybody else wash him so I washed him myself. (mind u there was no one else in her little smelly shop). I wished dog owners would leave reviews for just this purpose..I DO NOT RECOMMEND this groomer. She called me back after the first conversation and asked me if I would be willing to take my dog in and if I would hold him on the table and offered my money back. I'll take my money back she then quickly said she put a lot of work into him, I told her, "but ur the professional. She said,"yes, I am" and I put alot of work into him so I won't give u your money back and hung up on me. So why did she even call me to offer my money back? What a dreadful experience for my dog. I'm very upset the way my dogs and daughter were treated at this place. (Also our small dog got a hair cut there once before and he was happy and came home with a toy. We took him on Friday for his Birthday haircut. He was acting weird and not his usual self when we picked him up. I knew he was upset. I'll never know what happened , but he's still different.) I thought I must be overthinking, so we took our two older rescues for a nail cut. My daughter took both of her two rescued dogs into this place and she was shocked at the cool distant reception. She was told to wait,and she complied. She felt like she was imposing on this person. My daughter had told this person that our older med sized dogs were strong, and weighed about 40 pounds each. The woman took back our sweet girl and then my daughter heard our dog crying and this woman saying in a nasty voice stop it, no, yelling at our dog. She then brought her out and left her loose to run around in the waiting room. The supposed groomer said I can't do either of your dogs because she SHIT all over the room. My daughter was in SHOCK, stunned, hurt for our dogs, and worried that a little girl, would stop trusting people again.This woman kept talking and my daughter said she they were leaving. My daughter felt horrible that she actually took her precious pups to a place that brutalized them. Our dog has some pit bull in her and I think, not sure, that this person disliked dogs that have any pit bull in them. My daughter and her husband have had the loss of his sister recently and this horrible experience at the hands of this woman was just way more then my daughter needed.,Don't go to this groomer if you live your dogs. read more

I had an appt for my dog to get groomed today. Mind you, he gets groomed on a monthly basis (at Petsmart). Unfortunately, Petsmart cancelled his routine appt a week in advance so we made an appt with Gingers. One of the employees met me in the waiting area, touched my dog and told me, "This is going to be a lot of work!" and shook her head in disgrace. I attempted to explain to her our dog is groomed regularly and brushed at home every night. Yet, she continued to tell me it was too much work. Isn't this a dog grooming company?!?! Shouldn't you want our business?? They were so eager to make him an appt yet when I show up you want nothing to do with grooming him? I said, "fine, I'll go elsewhere. Sorry to inconvenience you." TERRIBLE business etiquette Ms. Crabby Claus! Apparently someone did not feel like working today. Mind you -- there were no other dogs in the facility getting groomed so it wasn't like they were swamped. Dog owner beware. read more
