We stopped into Sparta for the Bike and Space Museum and were pleasantly surprised to find Ginny's. We really liked the atmosphere- kind of like eating lunch in the kitchen section of a thrift store. We mostly had soup and sandwiches. The soups that we tried (White Chicken Chili, Potato Cheddar and Italian Pasta) were good. The sandwiches were fine, and they had a vegetarian option, which was nice. They also had fountain coke and diet coke, which is getting hard to find. Stop in if you're in town! read more

I moved to the area about eight months ago, and Ginny's was one of the first places my husband and I tried. To be honest, we have had difficulty finding restaurants in Tomah and Sparta that aren't chains or fast food, which we don't like to eat that much. But Ginny's was a nice surprise. We've had their sandwiches, soups, pastries and ice cream, and all are yummy! The only drawback is that their business hours are kind of limited, so it's sometimes hard to just drop in when you want something to eat. Had to go off the path to go to Sparta's and to Ginny's, but worth the effort. Really nice group of young guys run the place. Very sweet small town atmosphere. They make their pies, bread etc... They also make milkshakes.The Sparta trail is only feet away and it is a Trails to Rails bike project. read more

I love this little restaurant! It is a classic small town restaurant with a vintage vibe. They have a nice variety of soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch as well as Kickapoo Coffee (a personal favorite). My husband and I spent the day in Sparta and found Ginny's Cupboard to be perfect for us. We were able to order healthy food choices, delicious ice cream, and get organic espresso. The deck was small and there were people smoking out there, so we ate in the eclectic dining area. The food was very good and the homemade soup was extra good. When we saw the other dining choices on the street were fast food or "greasy spoons" we were glad we ate at Ginny's. read more

We go through Sparta on our way to Ft. McCoy, but seldom stop in town. Yesterday, my spouse and I decided to take a day to drive and poke around the area. I had been to Ginny's about a year ago with a friend, so I knew what a treat it can be. My husband loved everything about the place. The service was quick, the staff was friendly, the food was better than delicious, and the atmosphere really helped our attitudes after a couple of long, stressful weeks. After our meal, we even brought home a loaf of their vegetable bread to relive our memories throughout the weekend. Can't wait to share Ginny's with friends and family. read more

Ginny's was easy to find in the old downtown area. The parking is easy and plentiful. The restaurant is cute inside and we had alot of fun looking at the old Susy Homemakers and other kitchen toys around the restaurant. Two boys were running the front. We were greeted nicely enough. We ordered the pumpkin sausage soup that was amazing good, the cheddar potato was average butnot hot enough. I ordered the chicken salad on whole wheat, which was sliced too thickly for the amount of chicken salad and the bread was too hard. Seemed like it was from the day before. My husband enjoyed his grilled beef panini. I wanted to love this place but after a trip to the bathroom I was a little discouraged. The toilet needed to be clean, we were there at 11.30am on a saturday so I was surprised it was already dirty. And little details like a really disgusting dirty garbage can in the bathroom make a bad impression. I would tell people about this place but I wouldn't highly recommend it and I really wanted to love it. read more

The food is very good. It is a basic menu. Paganini's, sandwiches, soup and a full old fashioned soda fountain. The service is slow though.
