You never know your car is running bad until it runs GREAT! Gino and Tony are the best. I went in for a second opinion. They were right on the button. The repair was $4000. Ford wanted more for less repair work in their estimate. Gino's estimate included more work that was needed.. Ford didn't add it cause they wanted me to come back again after a $4000 bill to get more work done. Gino's took care of everything! I have a 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium with a Turbo.. My Turbo was falling apart. Had that replaced , gaskets, rings, Cat. Converter, and pipe assembly.. I had went out of town left the car with them.. They worked on it 3 business days. I left it on a Friday, got it back on Wednesday.. It runs like a brand new car. Never knew it could ride so smooth and have such power to it.. I've had my car 8 years and this was the only major money I've put in it.. A lot of other repair shops were racking me over the coals by just guessing why my engine light keeps coming on and wanted to keep my car 2 to 3 days to guess what it was. Gino's found the problem in 3hours, that's why I went back a couple weeks later to have the work done... I trusted them with the truth... I'm single female 61yo and researched only those auto places w/4.5+ rating. So hard to trust anyone. Gino's has great reviews so I stopped by to let them look at my 1999 F150 since I am hearing rattling noises. Was disappointed that he could not schedule me today, yet, Gino's brother Tony, came out to look and listen to see what the issues were after I scheduled an appointment for next week. Tony was fantastic and gave me great advice on what to do (and NOT do) while driving until I could drop off the vehicle next week. I look forward to going back next week to get it serviced. Based on their sincerity and kindness and willing to look under the hood before I left, I was very impressed. I have lived in Char/Meck for 38 years. Have always seen this little place on Monroe Rd. Went here because of the good reviews, and I wasn't let down. I don't have good experience with mechanics, I came here because I needed an inner and outer tie rod replaced on my 2025 Sonata from hitting a curb. The dealership I got the car from quoted around 5K in damaged, and said the whole rack and pinion needed to be replaced because the parts I needed weren't sold separately an "wouldn't fit my car". I took my car in, mechanic confirmed parts from earlier models of the car would fit my car, unlike what the dealer told me. I setup an appointment, brought it in, and it was just like new within 5 hours. Parts and labor was about 500, parts being 280 and labor being the rest. I had the most pleasant experience at Gino's today. After having my 2021 car serviced at the dealership and being told I needed front brakes replaced and several other things, I brought it to Gino's. Not only was the quote over the phone much cheaper, I then got a call to say my brakes are good for another 15,000 miles and no charge for looking at the car! I completely forget to check in and take pictures of Gino's. However, with any visuals I will say this! I've been getting my oil changes at Valvoline since I've been in Charlotte. Last week I went to Valvoline to get my oil change and tried to get my fuel injectors serviced. Long story short being that I have a hybrid which means my engine shuts off while it is idle. Therefore the guy at Valvoline couldn't do it, and referred me to Gino's. I called Gino's and made an appointment for Monday which was today at 9am. The car was roughly finished at 10:15am. Now for the meat of the review, the only is personable gregarious and joy to talk to. Very thorough and straight to the point with extensive knowledge. I left the car and walk to a coffee shop a few blocks down. When the car was ready I received a call, which he said he would do once the service was completed. I went to Gino's twice now the first time I went there I was coming from a place called honest one auto care where they were quoting me at a little over 3000 and Gino was able to do it for a little under half of that. They had my car back to me and I think 3 to 4 days while I was on vacation. Everything's been running smooth since. Came back for my second visit today to do some other maintenance work and they had me in and out in under two hours (on a Friday morning) just replacing a serpentine belt. Great price, quick service, and genuine people. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I'll bring my car here until it dies and then I'll bring the next one here until that one dies. read more

I've been a customer for the last 4 years. I stupidly took my vehicle to a different service shop for a quick inspection appointment Feb 2024. I was told that my car almost did not pass inspection due $1000 worth of issues. I called Gino's to schedule them to check out the so-called issues. Not only did Gino's confirm they already fixed the one issue in May 2023, but they also confirmed that the other reported issues we not problems at all. They gave me back my car with no charge. as a 53yr old Professional Factory trained Dealership technician of 35yrs and what i thought was a friend of Tony and Gino, the past 6 were spent working at Gino's... dont believe the smoke and mirrors! you think they're honest but they're marking your parts prices up just because and its a Fact! this shop went from having 75yrs total technician experience to having 40 overnight due to the Nepotism of Tony and Gino... ive never worked at a place that made such a big deal over an employee work on their own vehicle and i didnt think it would lead to firing a tech over it? but when the youngest/least experience (Gino's kid) decided to yell and throw tools into the shop door, as he always does! so be warned if your car ends up with damage it didnt have when you arrived, they say i had an outburst when it was the farthest thing from the truth, they fire me! the most experienced tech in the shop... if you need work on your vehicle and want Professional service from techs with Experience come to Brake & Alignment Center @ 5026 N. I have an older truck and my radiator blew while I was driving. Since smoke was coming out of the hood, I pulled into the nearest auto shop and thank God it was Gino's! They were able to fix my truck by noon the next day and the parts and labor were very reasonably priced. Their customer service is excellent and they're very honest people. I think the experience here can easily be summed up in one word: trust. I trust these guys to know what they're doing with my car. I trust them to give me a fair price. I trust them to be honest with me. I trust them to be decent people. I've been in a few times for various fixes. First off, they are organized. If you have an appointment, they don't mysteriously forget about it and leave you hanging or waiting an extra few hours. Thanks Tony! Secondly, they're super friendly. If you have doubts about this, sit in their waiting area for just ten minutes and you'll meet a bunch of people who've all "been coming here for years". Some of them even drop by just to chat. Lastly, these guys have integrity, which is so important in their industry. They hire only quality, certified people and they don't put up with bad employees. They're honest and fair with you about your car. The only downside, and I can't blame them too much for this, is that they are closed weekends. But, given all of the above, I'm totally willing to take some time off of work in exchange for knowing that my car is in good hands with people I can trust. read more

I can not speak highly enough about Gino's Auto Repair. I was referred to them by a friend when my then Chevy Malibu was causing me trouble and not working. I had my car towed to the shop and the electrical problems ensued. They had never seen anything like this and Gino and his staff had my car for 8 days but were still unable to pinpoint the problem. So instead of charging me to fix a problem they knew wasn't the source of the issue or charging me for all of the labor hours (which would have been in the thousands), he only charged me for one hour's worth of work since they could not fix the problem. I was blown away! You better believe that when I found my new-to-me car, I took it to the shop for them to check out before I purchased it. Gino's will be my mechanic from here on out! It is tough to find a good, quality repair shop that won't take advantage of my extreme lack of auto knowledge. Gino's is the ONLY place that I will go now! I have been going to them for years! I've always been skeptical that I'm told I need certain work done that isn't actually needed or getting quoted prices much higher. That fear has gone away since I switched to Ginos. Not only have they been competitive in terms of pricing but super thoughtful in walking me through what is needed for my car, they help me prioritize the work so I know what is needed now versus what will be needed in the next year. They also do little things like giving me a ride home if the work is taking longer than expected. The place is run by two brothers and they are honest. A guy at Valvoline recommended this shop to me. I decided to give them a call and told them my situation. I asked for a price quote and they told me upfront. I only had to wait one day for my appointment. When they started working on my car, they realized it was leaking oil, and I would need additional parts. They called me right away and again told me the price upfront for the parts and didn't even charge for additional labor. My bill was exactly as I was told. They did not add any shady costs like other mechanics have done to me in the past. They were also super friendly and honest. When I asked about the oil issue, he took the time to show me my old oil housing unit and where it was leaking. I can tell he loves what he does and that they are very reliable. My daughter recently relocated to Charlotte and is getting to know the area. Her car broke down and after reading the reviews for Gino's, I decided to get her car towed there. They diagnosed the problem and thankfully the problem was covered by a manufacturer warranty. We had to get it towed to the dealer, but the professionalism and courtesy that Gino and his brother provided were awesome. They were very helpful even though they weren't fixing the problem. These guys are awesome. I have been looking for a new mechanic for a while since mine retired. These folks are honest and full of integrity. I was having trouble with my power steering fluid. Gino and Tony saw that the hose was bad. Instead of just fixing the problem they actually called Honda and found out that there was a recall on that hose. They saved me over 300 dollars and they certainly didn't have to do that. They do great work in a timely fashion and the price is right. I would recommend them to anyone. I think Gino's might be the best thing ever. Here's the deal: 1.) Olllld school mechanic in Plaza Midwood. Total mom and pop feel; no frills, just down-to-earth car repair. This alone means you're gonna save money, amiright? (I'm right.) 2.) The nicest, most honest people running and working at the joint. "Mom" and Tony have been there forever and they just love doing what they do. It's awesome in like a billion different ways. 3.) Prompt, excellent service. 4.) But, of course, the best reason: *prices.* Ohmuhguh. I mean, you're not going to pay the absolute cheapest price ever like if you drove your car down to Laredo, Mexico or something, but these guys are suuuper reasonable. Managed to save me $220 over a quote given to me by an outfit called Select Import down South Blvd (don't ever go there by the way *points finger and gives evil eye*).
