I booked online for a full leg wax and the receptionist and waxer were both really great! It's just the type of wax used that wasn't a great experience and made me realize why it was so cheap at $50. The strip wax they use is really tough on the skin and much more painful than hard wax. Any waxer/salon using this method is a red flag for me and I can't recommend this place for that reason.

Recently, I switched from threading to waxing. It's more precise and it makes them take their time. Well, they don't seem to like that lol! This is the second time that I've come in, stated that I wanted a WAX, and they try to pull out the thread. When I repeat myself, they try to argue me down about why threading is better. I'm not a young girl getting her eyebrows done for the first time. I'm a grown lady who knows what she prefers on her brows. At the end of this appointment, the girl starts threading anyway, stating that the brows will be sharper. Now, the brows did come out looking good, but they are a bit thinner and I'm annoyed because she kept trying to do extra things. They don't listen, and I don't want to fight with a service provider on something that I want and that works for me. I will be finding another place where getting a wax isn't such a hassle.

I was so confused when she told me. Fast forward 10 min after leaving the place, my eye begins to swell up (see attached photo). I am not on any antibiotics, retinol, AHA, etc. that would cause my skin to be thin. After doing some research, I now think her waxing technique was off, thus ripping my skin off off. I was sad this happened, because the location is great if you live in midtown, but I am really disappointed in this. She took $5 off my total price (normal price is $15 for an eyebrow wax), but I tipped her thinking the rip wasn't that bad. Well, my eye has been stinging and I hope this doesn't scar. Unfortunately, after the wax, my skin over my eyes was burning more than usual but I thought it would go away as it usually does. In about an hour it didn't get better and today I woke up with these red spots and my skin really hurts. It felt rushed, and the Funny Bunny polish that was used seemed old or no longer good. It stayed sticky and literally would not fully dry, even after more than 24 hours. I ended up having to return twice because of it. I do appreciate that they accommodated me and eventually redid the pedicure with gel at no additional charge. However, even the final gel pedicure felt rushed and wasn't as clean or polished as I would have expected. Overall, the salon itself is very clean, quiet, and professional, and the other nail techs I saw seemed talented and focused. I would definitely come back, especially for my manicure, and I'd be willing to try a different technician for my next pedicure. My experience was basically 5/5 for the manicure and 2/5 for the pedicure.
