We were a table of 4. Our orders came out sporadically. I got my slice of pizza, and then five minutes later my guy got his Panini and then 10 minutes later my daughter-in-law got her soup and then 10 minutes later my brother got his muscle muscles. What kind of service is that? The waitress was adorable and very accommodating, but she didn't have a clue. My Caesar salad was horrible. Gave me extra dressing and it was thick as mud. No longer. 3rd time I received a confused order, and the portions have been cut in half at least. Taste still ok, not great. Maybe they had someone covering for the regulars. Finally made it to this awesome pizza spot in Sandy Hook! There are so many menu offerings ranging from pizzas to wraps and pastas. There is something for everyone! Although we are not thin crust fans, we enjoyed the vodka sauce on the Drunken Grandma. We could only imagine how good their penne alla vodka must be considering how good the sauce was on the pizza!! Just found my new favorite pizza in the area! We got the Nonna Pizza it was sooo good would definitely recommend. We only got takeout, but the girls at the counter were very nice. We have been eating out alot this summer. That being said I am still finding restaurants / places I have not yet reviewed. My husband has not eaten his food yet so there is a slight maybe that I update this review later with his thoughts. Our app we chose cheese garlic bread. Our order was a delivery order so I know that affects some quality. I dont judge their cheese garlic bread fully on delivery. Delivery wise it was not crunchy but the garlic was plentiful as well as the cheese. My entree capellini with garlic and oil and a side of meatballs with marinara. I love capellini but not all restaurants offer it. Some restaurants that do offer capellini its overcooked. Let me tell you Gino's Palor killed it with their capellini - cooked perfectly. Just preference wise I could have done without the fresh basil throughout. Meatballs again excellent - the taste and consistency both perfect. In addition Gino's paid attention to the instructions I wrote in for my meatballs which was I wanted sauce for them. In the past Different spots when I order pasta with garlic and oil I get meatballs plain with no sauce. Ever since I specify if there is a spot for it. Overall a great meal, and look forward to actually visiting the restaurant. read more

Loved this place until tonight when I ordered a pie and it was delivered without cheese! I was offered the choice between a credit or picking up a new pie. Because I am temporarily unable to drive, for medical reasons, I chose the credit. It tasted awful, but it was what it was. Shortly after I saw that the credit was $5. We have stopped by Gino's to get slices a few times and have always really enjoyed them. Tonight we decided to go all out and order a bunch of pies. Man do they stack their specialty pies with tons of toppings or what? And not just any toppings mind you but high quality fresh and delicious toppings. The ricotta is soooo heavenly and the breaded chicken they put on you can tell is fresh and juicy. Their slices are huge too so it doesn't take much to feel full which means lots of leftovers here but we are excited for it. Their pasta was also delicious and a large portion. Vodka sauce great! So happy Gino's is right here in town. We will be trying more on their menu soon. Definitely give them a try!!!! read more

There is a front and back entrance to Gino's, with outdoor seating by the road side. You can order pizza by the pie or by the slice - they have a bunch of different pizzas on display, you pick your slice and into the oven it goes to heat up. They are BIG pieces, much bigger then they look through the glass. I was actually afraid of leaving hungry, until they were delivered to my table. The cheese pizza tips to the dough side on the cheese/sauce/dough balance, but JUST. The bianca slice I sampled was surprisingly flavorful in the ricotta, when most are comparably bland. It must be fun to live nearby and get to switch up your slice choices! read more

My first time eating there. Ordered a pizza and grinder for delivery online. The driver was very kind and professional. Once I opened up the box I knew it was going to be incredible and once I stuffed myself, the taste buds in my mouth were screaming for more despite having to loosen the drawstring on my shorts. The oils from the cheese are killing it with the delicious infused garlic flavor. It's so good I was hiding from my older kids but had to call them to come join us in the pallet party! Very good square flat pizza. Thin crust, delicate sauce, and balanced cheeze. Properly baked. Best in town along with Good Old Days. Ordered ahead of time and was ready. Pretty good aglio and oglio pasta that was al dente but had not been reduced enough. Tough ask to make this right at most restaurants. Garlic was either perfectly browned or raw. But I like almost raw garlic. Garlic bread so-so. Veal Marsalla was tender with a rich sauce. Portions not huge but normal which is fine with me. I really wanted to avoid a public comment but the info@ doesn't seem to work so I couldn't send a private message. We have ordered from Gino's many, many times since we moved around the corner in March. Mostly the food has been very good and the convenience is a plus for us. However, tonight was a big disappointment. I wanted something different from the usual red sauce and melted cheese so I ordered shrimp scampi. Good points: tasty sauce, very lemony and ample number of good size shrimp. But the downsides made for a disappointing meal. First, the scampi was more like a soup. So much liquid! While the sauce was tasty, it required a search to find the shrimp. Even worse, the shrimp was breaded yet apparently not browned, so the sauce quickly became a gloppy mess. I've never had or seen shrimp scampi prepared with breaded shrimp. Topping it off, I'd ordered spaghetti with oil and garlic as my side and got penne instead. Also, one of the olives in the Gino's special salad had a pit in it - thankfully I hadn't chomped down and perhaps broken a tooth. Here's a photo of my meal about half-finished I'd hoped to share my disappointment directly with the management but I'm not going to call it in. Enjoyed a delicious mid-afternoon lunch at Gino's Parlor. Started with Gino's Special Salad with cheese and their delicious dressing. Fresh crunchy lettuces & loads of veggies. Enough for two! Ordered the Truffle Pizzetta which was cheesy, with chunks of shiitake mushrooms, herbs, and drizzled with just enough truffle oil to give that unmistakable truffle essence. Sipped a cold Sauvignon Blanc and sat outside on the patio watching the Sunday afternoon comings & goings. Service was terrific, Alexa was attentive & sweet. Can't wait for my next visit! AMAZING! The workers are so kind and have a great sense of humor. The food is fantastic and soooo delicious. The overall vibe is chill and relaxed. I got penne alla vodka and it was creamy and literally the best I have ever had. I also got tiramisu and it was sweet and soft, it tasted super fresh to me. I wanted to try the pizza so I got a slice of margherita pizza and it had a lot of sauce and not very much cheese, so if that's your style then you'd love it. Overall a cool place with yummy food. This has been our go to spot! Great food and friendly service! We love their pizza. It can get busy inside but it's worth the wait.

We've only recently moved to CT, but have tried a number of different pizza places in the area. We got a bunch of slices from Gino's last night via TooGoodToGo (a separate plug for that - go check it out!) and they were by far the best pizza we've had here yet! All the kinds we tried were excellent - the sauce was a perfect amount of acid to balance the cheese, and the flavor combinations were unusual but very good (e..g eggplant rollatini). The only flaw I found was that the mac and cheese pizza was a little rich and needed hot sauce or something to be balanced, but love the creativity there either way. Moved here from NY and excited to get a Gino's being that we are familiar with great tasting pizza with NY style/ flavor. When we first had their pizza, it was really great and you can tell it was top notch quality. This is now the third time, we're very disappointed with the quality, texture, sauce, cheese, etc. You are priding yourself on producing pizza that stands out amongst the average, pizza in CT and also charging a lot for specialty pizzas, but the quality has significantly dropped in recent months. Last few times we ordered Sicilian pie, cheese was falling off, dough was undercooked and soggy. Tonight, we ordered plain pizza, and garlic knots. I was utterly shocked at how awful the pizza looked and tasted tonight. I would compare this plain cheese pie to Elios or birthday pizza at a bowling alley! What the hell happened? DOUGH was of such poor taste, texture and quality. Cheese was salty and doughy. Literally compared to that of frozen pizza. If you are going to charge this much for a plain cheese pie and garlic knots that were stale as anything, you need to consider getting better ingredients and cooking it with better expertise. This is not turning into the GInos of Long Island, NY GUYS. Sorry for the poor review, but this is very disappointing when you look forward to pizza Friday and it taste like utter garbage. read more

I was so excited to try this pizza parlor in the quaint town of Sandy Hook and we were certainly not dissappointed! I went on a weekday afternoon with my 2 year old son and 3 year old niece and what a perfect place to walk in, choose your pizza by the slice and sit down with little kids! They had such an appetizing array of pizzas by the slice, the kids had cheese, my SIL had the margherita and I had a Grandma's slice, and it was PHENOMENAL. Living in Queens NY and Long Island for over 7 years, I know a good slice when I see it :) Thin, NY style crust and crisped to perfection. They also had the most delicious, warm garlic knots with a side of marinara and we did not leave one bit of our lunch untouched. They even had apple juice for the kids, and the restaurant was spotless and the staff was super friendly and attentive, even when my son spilled most of his apple juice on the floor LOL. We can't wait to go back for their pasta night with the kids in the coming weeks! So happy a true NY style pizzeria has opened up closeby, what a treat! read more
