Finally made it to this awesome pizza spot in Sandy Hook! There are so many menu offerings ranging from pizzas to wraps and pastas. There is something for everyone! Although we are not thin crust fans, we enjoyed the vodka sauce on the Drunken Grandma. We could only imagine how good their penne alla vodka must be considering how good the sauce was on the pizza!! We are eager to visit again to try their Sicilian pies, which is more our style pizza anyway. We are also eager to go back for pasta night!

One of the few if not the only pizza restaurants in the area that serves a variety of pizza slices. Bought 4 slices. Regular cheese, pepperoni, Sicilian and the incredible drunken grandma. There has to be some NY influence in there pies. Great spot, great staff and fun atmosphere.

We were super impressed by the variety of creative pizzas on the menu at Gino's! Delicious chicken parm pizza especially. The wings and entree were delicious too. We sat outside and the staff was friendly. They accidentally brought us out the wrong pizza at first but worked quickly to make it right. A good restaurant for the family!

We have been eating out alot this summer. That being said I am still finding restaurants / places I have not yet reviewed. My husband has not eaten his food yet so there is a slight maybe that I update this review later with his thoughts. Our app we chose cheese garlic bread. Our order was a delivery order so I know that affects some quality. I dont judge their cheese garlic bread fully on delivery. Delivery wise it was not crunchy but the garlic was plentiful as well as the cheese. My entree capellini with garlic and oil and a side of meatballs with marinara. I love capellini but not all restaurants offer it. Some restaurants that do offer capellini its overcooked. Let me tell you Gino's Palor killed it with their capellini - cooked perfectly. Just preference wise I could have done without the fresh basil throughout. Meatballs again excellent - the taste and consistency both perfect. In addition Gino's paid attention to the instructions I wrote in for my meatballs which was I wanted sauce for them. In the past Different spots when I order pasta with garlic and oil I get meatballs plain with no sauce. Ever since I specify if there is a spot for it. Overall a great meal, and look forward to actually visiting the restaurant.

Stopped in off the highway to stretch our legs while traveling from MA to NJ. Pizza was delicious. Very clean inside including the restrooms. Busy place around lunch time. Great alternative to a fast food place when traveling. Which we lived closer but at least we know it's an option.

We have stopped by Gino's to get slices a few times and have always really enjoyed them. Tonight we decided to go all out and order a bunch of pies. Man do they stack their specialty pies with tons of toppings or what? And not just any toppings mind you but high quality fresh and delicious toppings. The ricotta is soooo heavenly and the breaded chicken they put on you can tell is fresh and juicy. Their slices are huge too so it doesn't take much to feel full which means lots of leftovers here but we are excited for it. Their pasta was also delicious and a large portion. Vodka sauce great! So happy Gino's is right here in town. We will be trying more on their menu soon. Definitely give them a try!!!!

Kind of expensive and a little chaotic. People are friendly but it's a casual place with real restaurant prices.

So, my wife and I, along with our tween daughter, visited Hilltop Kitchen on a whim last Saturday…read more First impressions were wonderful. The dining room was empty as we came early, and it looked beautiful. The entire restaurant, to the eye, is absolutely a vibe. There was one server on shift at the time and she was very nice and welcoming. We had very high hopes for the meal to come. We were fairly disappointed. It was during a brunch service. Initially ordered the calamari as an appetizer. Yes, calamari as a brunch app is kind of strange however since it was available I ordered it. I typically order this wherever I go, because I execution-wise, it's not the easiest thing to prepare correctly. This app was tiny, as in the serving size. Additionally the calamari itself was super small as well. No nice meaty rings. No crispy tentacles. Just a greasy mess. The dish purports the dipping sauce to be that of a fra diavolo, it was not. It was more like a marinara with chunky bits of aromatics and perhaps a bit of crushed red pepper. It was also very pricey given everything. Even if it were perfect, still on the pricey side. At the same time my daughter ordered French toast. For $18. We are talking $6 a slice of brioche. Wild business, that. As mains, my wife ordered the avocado toast. Which she actually seemed to enjoy, although the bread was soggy, and the other items on the plate severely lacking. I ordered the "lobster" cake eggs Benedict. If this was lobster, then I'm the Mother Theresa. It was, by my palate overly processed canned crab meat. At best, overly processed lobster meat, but I highly doubt that given the taste, color, and texture. The CRAB cake itself was meh, the accompanying potato hash was okay, and the hollandaise sauce was passable if not good. We ordered drinks as well. My lemon drop martinis were pretty good. My wife was dissatisfied with her margarita, then ordered a dirty martini that was okay. We walked out with a tab of nearly $200. To say it was worth the money would be absurd. I hate to be so blatantly honest with this review, but this experience (food and drink-wise) was not one I would recommend.

Slice Mob made another stop today, this time at Mangia Mi in Sandy Hook…read more What a great afternoon. From the minute we walked in, Chef Rebecca came over and welcomed all of us. You could tell right away this wasn't just another restaurant. It's her place, and she's proud of it. I really liked the vibe. Big open dining room, an open kitchen where you can watch everything being made, and family pictures all over the walls. It just feels comfortable. The pizza is New Haven-style apizza. The tomato pie was excellent. The San Marzano tomatoes really stand out. Nice fresh tomato flavor, a great bake, plenty of crunch, and a finishing dusting of grated cheese that pulled it all together without getting in the way. The cheese pizza was exactly what a cheese pizza should be. Sometimes the simplest pie tells you the most about a pizzeria, and this one didn't disappoint. My favorite was Donnie's Hot Pepper & Mushroom. The peppers brought just enough heat without taking over. The mushrooms added a nice earthy flavor that balanced everything out. Every bite just worked. One thing that stood out was that everything is made from scratch. You can taste it. Nothing felt like it came out of a bag or was rushed. Mangia Mi is the kind of place you leave already thinking about what you're ordering next time. We only scratched the surface today. I definitely want to come back and work my way through more of the pizzas, fresh pastas, seafood, and whatever specials Chef Rebecca is putting together. Thanks to Chef Rebecca and her team for taking such good care of the Slice Mob. We'll be back.

A little hidden gem in an unexpected location. We missed the place all together and had to reroute…read more Doesn't feel like you are going to a restaurant because it's in a residential complex. Upon entering, you are hit with aromas of deliciousness. The boards around the dining room are creativity written dishes from the menu. The courses were large and had seconds to enjoy again. Everything was yummy from drinks for dessert. Services was wonderful and all around a great find. Felt like you were enjoying a home cooked meal in someone's house.
