So when I took my friend to the Yelp Event in town, she actually asked the employees in that establishment where we could get something for a takeout dinner. This place happened to be one of the establishments named from inside Jubi's. Lo and behold, it was the most obvious thing we saw after we exited the bubble tea shop and so we decided to go. I do love the ambiance this place has for these summer months. You can actually sit in an outside bar that looks into the restaurant, and it's definitely a great spot to wait if you need that fresh air. The menu is fairly extensive, so there are definitely options to consider when ordering something here. The employees here do mention that it is about a 10-minute wait to cook the food which was fine. The Panama-Croatia game of the WC was on TV. The pizza we ordered was a chicken bacon ranch with hot honey, and there was also the sampler from the appetizers menu. Nothing wowed me about the food, but nothing was bad either. The pizza had a decent crunch to it, and the hot honey added just the right amount of sweetness to the slice. Out of what I had on the sampler, I would say the jalapeño poppers were the best. It has a zest kick while remaining juicy without getting the breading soggy. The zucchini sticks were helped by the dipping sauces, but they were otherwise alright. The mozzarella sticks did need the marinara sauce on this one to let its flavor shine. Service was good. Friendly faces, and we actually had our food carried out to us when they had our order ready. Can't ask for much else. But yeah, while there are some pizzas in CT I would chose over this if given the chance, this is still a good pizzeria that should be proud to be serving the Bethel area. read more

Famous pizza is an asset to the Bethel area and is so supportive of childhood development, eagerly supporting local school systems and camps! We finally redeemed some cheese slices and also ordered Sicilian slices, then enjoyed them while sitting at their open air counter! The staff was eager to serve us, hand delivering our piping hot slices to our seats with genuine smiles. While waiting we identified a variety of menu items we would be eager to try- including Detroit style pizzas, salads, and wraps. We decided to try a new pizza place and this came up on our "pizza near me" search. I was excited when I saw they had Sicilian style because that's what I grew up on. The place was slammed on a Friday night which we saw as a good sign. Our pepperoni and meatball pizza was kind of disappointing. The meatballs were chopped up so tiny that you couldn't taste them. My office orders take out lunch from here every so often. We usually order the Greek salad with Gyro meat (slices of what seems to be gyro meat off of a spit) or Cesar salad with crispy chicken we order online and they have a tracker so you know exactly when your food will be ready for pick up. Salads are ok sometimes the chicken or the Souvlaki meat is a bit dry and the salads are packed with a ton of lettuce instead of toppings but most times the salads are good. My co workers enjoy the garlic knots and the garlic bread fresh with lots of garlic and a nice tomato dipping sauce. We havent gotten pizza from here but it always smells yum when I go to pick it up. Staff is super friendly and will help to the car with large orders We tried a brownie from the side plastic container on the counter and were less than impressed dry and straight from a box. Parking is a bit rough there are about ten spaces right by the restaurant or you can park on the main street or more down the block They do take credit cards. read more

When I moved to CT from Ohio, I missed placed with crunchy pepperonis. I was used to Donato's or Massey's. I had given up hope until my husband took me to Famous Pizza in Bethel, almost a hour from where we live. I was so excited to see the little crunchy pepperonis! Best pizza in the area! We have lived in Newtown for over three years and have tried every spot within a 30 min drive. Bethel Famous Pizza is the best. Great pizza, friendly service (the owner introduced himself tonight), fairly priced, quality ingredients, and a great menu selection. We have done both dine in and take out...great experience either way. This is a family owned place that takes pride in pleasing customers and making a great pizza. The location is cool too...right on a bustling corner of Bethel's quaint village. We like the Hawaiian pizza, which has bacon, for a nice twist. Standard pepperoni or cheese pies are also great. It is always perfectly baked with a golden crust. The standard crust is just slightly thicker than a traditional New York style. It's pretty much a perfect pie. They also have fountain sodas, rather than just the single serve bottles like so many places in the area, which is great when you dine in.
