Ginza has quickly become my favorite restaurant in Sumter. Not only is the food superb but the service is always friendly and you can tell they put forth a lot of effort to make sure you enjoy your meal. To top it all off, they give military a 35 percent discount every Monday making their already very affordable prices even better. My husband and I both always order their combination platter when we come here for dinner. It comes with your choice of three courses: a side, a sushi roll, and a plate. To start things off your side options include: gyoza, miso soup, edamame, or shrimp dumplings. The gyoza is good but the shrimp dumplings are the best option by far. The roll options include a few basic rolls like the California and a few of their specialty rolls. Unfortunately, most of their specialty rolls are fried which I don't usually prefer but they are still tasty. For my entree I usually get their steak udon noodle bowl. Finally gave Ginza a try after being a loyal customer to Mon Cafe Japan for years. This place was extremely clean, the employees were friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Never felt rushed to decide on or order and answered our questions. Took less than 10 minutes from placing the order till our food was served to us. Steaks here are of better quality, not tough or full of fat. Veggies were not over cooked. Rice was done perfectly and tasted fresh. Sushi is hands down the best in Sumter! Loved that they give a decent military discount daily but they also give a larger mil discount on Mondays. Can't wait to go back and try more Sushi! Loved this quick sushi place!! Weren't too busy on the night we came in and our food came out very fast. The service was nice and it was a clean place. The rolls we got were well made and didn't fall apart.. also we're not too big. Personally I hate sushi when it is difficult to eat because of being rolled too large. Another great thing about it is that they didn't have too many options, some sushi places have soo many special sushi rolls it's super hard to pick out what you want. They have basic rolls and a few specialty rolls along with hibachi options. Great price for the amount of food. Will definitely be coming back here often to try some more of the rolls!! read more

A bit overpriced for the portions. Pretty good, as far as Japanese goes (especially for the area) and great that they have delivery. It's nothing special, but I can't fault it much either. Sumter has quite a few Japanese restaurants this one is probably the best so far. The sushi menu has more options than the competition. The sushi was fresh and the food was well made. We dined in and liked that they give you a squeeze bottle of yum yum sauce so you can have as much as you like. The price were very reasonable as well. I did however take off 1 star for the tea. Gold Peak tea is awful... This is the South and we like fresh brewed tea. areless about COVID. We went to pickup our food there tonight and only one of four employees preparing food were wearing masks. The lady on the register had it under her chin, rendering the mask useless. They're leaning over the food as they prepare it, breathing on it, and no masks! I asked them why they weren't wearing masks and none of them responded. This is completely irresponsible behavior and unnecessarily endangers their patrons. It's great sushi but it's not worth losing your health or your life. We won't be returning... not until after this pandemic anyway. read more

This food was AMAZING! I ordered the combination platter with the gyoza, the shrimp tempura roll, and the steak hibachi. I was so impressed with the quality of the food, the freshness of my vegetables, and the amount of food that I got was top-notch. I ordered within an hour of closing time, and it was still good. Normally, at other restaurants, ordering late means your food will be crap. But Ginza did the thing!!! I'm used to many places that give you combination platters with one or two pieces of each thing. But know this had five pieces of gyoza, a full tempura roll, and not to mention a substantial amount of steak hibachi and rice. *Travel Advisor Advisory* Tonight my family & I went here to eat. It was only my small son, husband (his 1st time eating here) & I. There was only 1 other couple eating besides us at the time of our visit. Half way through our meal a song came on over the restaurant speakers that was using the "F bomb" & calling women sluts! I ask the female waitress/sushi maker could they change the song please. She hurried over to our table to give us some to go plates to rush us out instead. My husband spoke to the manager and asked if this was considered a family restaurant and the manage said, Yes. Husband told him then why is this type of music playing in here that it was very inappropriate for a family restaurant? The manage laughed at my husband & just said sorry. The food was very good but because they chose to play rated MA type music in a "Family Restaurant" this is 1 family that will never step foot back there again! I visit Ginza rather regularly. The service and food are excellent. They did have a price increase (like most restaurants) so if you got the old take out menu the prices are a little more. Sushi is great. They have specials on select rolls and combo specials. I noticed some people read the special prices and think that's for all sushi when it plainly states it's for the selected rolls. I watched a man get visibly upset because his combo hibachi was not as large as the dinner entrée. I see a lot of reviews talking about it being overpriced. We ordered for Ginza Grill tonight for the first time and it was SO good! We ordered delivery and got the Teriyaki Steak Bento Box, kid's steak plate, and Champ Chop Roll. The portions were perfect and everything was delivered as if it were plated to be served in a restaurant. The steak was tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The Champ Chop Roll was my personal favorite, the right combination of flavors and a little spice. It was delivered quickly by a friendly driver and the prices were very reasonable. Great place for take-out, I was surprised that you can get good sushi in small town South Carolina.

The food and the sushi are good here. I like to get the bento box sometimes and then sometimes just the sushi. They also have DELIVERY , which is a huge deal for Sumter. The only thing I will say is that sometimes it's super hot in there. I think the positioning of the windows makes it so that around dinner time, the sun is hitting the restaurant just right, and it feels like you're sitting on the grill. read more
