First time visiting Giordano's in Kenosha, WI and was very impressed. Was in town to visit family and took me for a great experience. We were a large party of 8 and seated with no trouble. Mind you it's opening day of college football and the restaurant had its fair share of patrons. Our server was quick to say hello and get our drink order, while we did our best to get settled. We let our family order since they're regulars and had a full selection of appetizers as well as a massive large meat pizza (Meat and More Meat). Pizza took a minute but was hand made, with fresh ingredients. Appetizers hit the spot and could've ordered a second round but was told to wait for the pizza. Boy it did not disappoint! Pizza was delicious and not soggy but very crispy. Cheese and toppings were hot and was so good to eat. Service was excellent and was very patient with our boisterous crowd watching football. Giordano's was an excellent choice to enjoy some great food with family. Unfortunately there are no Giordano's in STL, so I guess we'll have to make another trip back. Give them a try!! read more

Upon approaching the building and entering the facility was clean and clear of any hazards. Lights were a little dimmer for a nice ambiance. Only one other family in the restaurant with our group of 4. It took a while for the waitress to make her way to our table to take our order. We ordered our drinks two rootbeer and two water, the brushetta and a cheese and sausage pizza. The tables were set up nicely with plates and silverware wrapped in napkins. The wait time for our drinks was long and we had to ask for them. Our appetizer took well over 30 minutes and we expected, as appetizers should be, to come out before our food. Not sure what happen there (maybe the lack of work from the employee behind the glass in the kitchen on his phone. The brushetta, when we finally got it was amazing. The tomatoes were fresh and refreshing and the mozzarella cheese and balsamic was the perfect amount for a burst of refreshing goodness. The first piece of pizza was delicious, but the second piece tasted as though the crust wasn't cooked through. In addition there is a cooler on the front with pizzas in it. The sign on it is very deceiving. Reads $6 each and as the pizzas looks smaller than those at the table I didn't think much of it. I planned to order for to go only to find out there is a tiny price written with marker on the top left corner that reads $23.16. So I could have placed an order for a large pizza to be cooked, but thought there was a better deal and ended up paying almost $50 instead of $35. Have to feed my family and didn't have time to wait an extra 45 minutes at 7:30 pm. So we got to the restaurant around 6:00pm and didn't leave until 7:30 pm. The facility was clean. The menus are torn and the salt shaker had grime and actual food on it. Waitress was nice, but slow. Frozen products need to be clearly marked. Appetizers should come out before the meal. read more

Ordered delivery via DoorDash. The order stated Giordano's was preparing the order for two hours. When trying to call the restaurant, sat on hold for twenty minutes and nobody ever answered. Giordanos completed the order via the app as if it was delivered and I was charged for my order. No food was ever received. read more

Very unpleasant experience and rude service. We came with a 4-month-old and a toddler, and out of courtesy to others, switched to takeout when the baby got fussy. The waitress was noticeably rude--first took our order, then told us to reorder at the bar. After a long wait, we were told to use a delivery app, which immediately canceled our order. Food was fantastic. That's the best thing I can say. On the flip side, our server was... inexperienced? Untrained? Not confident? Inattentive? Scatterbrained? Not great at customer service? At least from the observed behavior and our interactions. We were seated very quickly, and then waited about 10 minutes for our server to even come to the table, despite the fact that there were only 6 tables seated with three servers in the place. He did not greet us or introduce himself, just stated "are you ready to order" in a very flat toned manner. We placed our full order in the first interaction. Drinks came out right away with appetizer about fifteen minutes later. He did not come back to our table until he delivered our food despite a clearly finished dish and two empty drink glasses (my fiance sat for 17 minutes, yea we timed it because we were noticing a general trend in service, with an empty glass). Pizza came out right around 45 minutes after we ordered in accordance with the menu. It was phenomenal. Really could not emphasize that aspect more. We saw our server one more time when he brought our check (after we had to ask the host for a box and the check) and when he brought it back. He did not wish us a good evening, say goodbye, or make any effort to bid us adieu. There was one guy that brought us ketchup at one point that was very pleasant, and the server at the table next to us appeared to do a good job as well. Great food, it's a good deep dish place. However the service was lacking, there were only four other people in the restaurant so it was hardly busy, but for some reason our waitress wasn't to be seen. It took a good couple minutes for us to even be seated because no one was up front. They seemed to be having a store visit or consulting with a manager, and our waitress chatted with them for a minute as we tried to flag her down. It was only when the manager noticed us that she came by, and when she did, she spoke only to my boyfriend. Weird huh? Also, just a side note, it took like 45 minutes to get our entree. Giordano's was an absolute favorite when I worked in the Loop in Chicago. Either my memory has faded terribly or... the recipe for the deep-dish Chicago style pizza has changed, but certainly not for the better. Or... maybe they just like their pizza a lot different in Kenosha, WI. Whatever the reason for the change, the pizza was simply uninspired, unimpressive, and un-good. The crust was good and buttery, the cheese was ample, but the sausage and pepperoni were both lacking in flavor/spice and the sauce was bordering on truly tasteless. All combined, the pizza looked wonderful but had no flavor. I was very disappointed in that I had talked up Giordano's to many of my motorcycle friends and then we planned a group ride to all ride to the restaurant in Kenosha to enjoy a wonderful lunch together. The weather was good, the ride was great, the company and comradery was spectacular, but unfortunately, the pizza sucked. I am writing this review the next day to remove the emotions of the moment. My pizza was delivered 30 minutes late and was stone cold. The driver walked away from me as I was talking to him. When I called, the local Giordanos manager was very professional, apologetic, and refunded my money. He also explained that they use Uber Eats as their delivery service. They have a history of problems with Uber Eats and their drivers. Uber Eats stacks deliveries from multiple restaurants. This creates multiple pickups, and multiple delivery stops without Giordano's knowledge. This makes the Giordano's delivery app useless as their estimated delivery time does not consider the drivers other, unknown to the pizza restaurant, activities. While Giordanos produces a quality pie and adheres to a positive customer service code, they fail in delivery service by using an inferior company, UberEats, as a subcontractor. I can not recommend that anyone order delivery from Giordano's. You also might be cautious with other restaurants who use Uber Eats for the same reason. read more

Yes! Chicago style pizza. Do it's been a while and had some craving for good Chicago Style but without the chunky tomato sauce. I had 1/2 Italian sausage and 1/2 Canadian bacon and it was delicious cheesy. The place was not crowded during a weekday early afternoon. Otherwise... it would have been packed. It does take long to cook the perfect pie so make sure to order some appetizers. Although, I had to remind the server, to bring the soup and salad before the pizza. When we walked in, there was already a group ahead of us waiting at the host stand, but they said they hadn't seen any staff come by. I could see people eating but no staff in the dining room or bar. Eventually, a server came by and seated the family that was there before us, but she didn't acknowledge us or come back to seat us after she sat that first group. I was confused but decided to wait. About 4 or 5 minutes later, she returned and sat us. We ordered right away because I was concerned that it would be a while before we could get the servers attention again. So far, she was the only member of staff I had seen in the entire restaurant. I ordered a Margherita pizza but forgot to specify the crust I wanted and was very disappointed to see a thin crust pizza be brought to my table. The server should have asked me to pick a crust rather than make the decision for me. The pizza was absolutely flavorless and the crust was tasted like it was made out of cardboard. I don't know how to describe how dry and unappealing it was. The pizza did look delicious but it was barely edible. The server did check to see how the food was but I didn't even have the energy or desire to order a replacement pizza. My confidence that it would be better was almost zero. We also had garlic parm fries as an appetizer and they were fine. My daughter had a kids spaghetti that was acceptable as well. The prices here are theoretically fair but not really worth it considering the service and food quality. I did eventually see a manager wandering around but he didn't seem to be doing anything that was beneficial to the operation of the restaurant. Let's start with the appetizer...to say it wowed us would be a definite overstatement.  The cheesey bread was not hot, warm at best, the three chicken nuggets were over cooked, the bruschetta....well I'm just going to say was horrible, the tomatoes were not fresh, looked almost like they could have come from a can, definitely looked nothing like what you have pictured on your menu.  The only hot item was the 3 mozzarella wedges.  So I have to tell you our meal has not gotten off to a good start.   While waiting for our pizza to arrive, I watched another server deliver pizzas to his table, he put on quite a show with the pizzas he delivered, stood on a chair and pulled the cheese over his head....WOW!  I at least had some hope of a great pizza!    Our pizza arrived with no fanfare, nothing like the other servers pizza deliver.  I should have known that something wasn't right when the server barely had any pull on the cheese when he served the pizza.  Not only was the cheese not cooked all the way thru, the top dough was raw.  It turned my stomach.  I sat for some time before I got the attention of the young lady bussing tables, (our server was no where in sight) and asked to speak with a manager, I showed the manager, he asked if we wanted another pizza, I told him no as I was not going to wait another 45 minutes for pizza, I asked that it be cooked properly.  At that point, I was done, I had no appetite for anything further.   I am shocked, there were 4 managers walking about, the restaurant had maybe 7 tables with customers, how is that I could not get any part of my meal right?   I gave you a second shot, and it was worse than the first, and we dined in this time hoping to avoid any of the issues experienced in take out.  Jan 11, 2020 read more

Only fair to try again and report back. Summary- good cheesy deep dish, severed with a kitschy shtick. Plan ahead and expect to sit for a bit if you order dish which is totally to be expected. Staff and managers are trying hard to launch and are responsive to feedback which is appreciated! --- We decided to give the new pizza eatery in Kenosha another try after a couple of previous failed attempts. On this attempt we arrived at nearly 5:30PM to find a short line in wait for seating but some confusion and small argument between the hostesses who could not agree on how they would seat the party in wait and where they would eat them all while myself and few other were trying to determine who we needed to chat with exactly to get our names on the seating much less determine how long the wait would be. Classic case of too many cooks in the kitchen! There can only be one person in charge and this was a cleat power struggle. Kinda of funny to watch save for the fact we wanted to be seated to eat. I decided to break into the huff and asked if we could just sit at the bar and eat... got a quick yes, so we sat at the bar. Bar service was fine once the two bar tenders got their grove on about who would do what pet se... it wasn't bad just a bit "busy" feeling as both bar tenders seemed a dash overwhelmed in who would be doing what interns of tending to the bar patrons while filling server orders. Again, not bad, just noticeable clunky. They were very friendly and attentive otherwise. Order was take quickly, drinks up, app out with a good enough rhythm. App- mozzarella triangles - Ok. Not really good enough to order again... some what flat taste wise... beading and sauce are really mild seasoning wise. Pizza ordered- small deep - half cheese, half sausage, extra cheese... crispy. It was brought out relatively promptly considering the time required to bake a deep pie. Bar tender served up the slices nicely using their kitschy signature cheese pull to show how cheesy the pizza is. All good, and I can see why they do it for in indoctrinated to Chicago style pizza and to generate some table/social buzz. Again, all good. Taste- pizza was ok with SO liking it more than I. She liked the crust, cheesiness, and milder than most sauce. I on the other hand found those things just okish. I know that I like a crunchier, buttery, cornmeal type crust... this isn't that. A richer cheese, and more seasoned sauce. Lastly, totally not a fan of pre-crumbled sausage... too mild and processed feeling which seems off the mark for what is priced as high end pizza. That being said, it wasn't bad, it was good enough, just not my style. Again, my SO preferred it to other pizza in the area. Take away... ZERO STARS GIVEN. Terrible service: It started promisingly with prompt seating and order taking. I suspect they do this only to keep everyone from leaving immediately. We were served flat soda and bitter, sour, barely warm coffee in a dirty cup. Unfortunately, we had placed our deep-dish pizza order when we ordered our drinks, so we were committed. We confirmed at ordering that we would have time to eat before our movie *an hour and a half* from the time we ordered. We were assured there would be no problem and the pizza would be ready in 45-50 minutes. We sat with cold nasty coffee and soda for 20 minutes before anyone returned, only to ask us if we had ordered appetizers. We had not. "Better" coffee (all but cold) and decent soda (others had complained) were procured. At 50 minutes, after noticing that tables that had arrived after us were receiving food, I flagged down the waitress. She claimed the kitchen was "slammed" and that's why it would be *another 30 minutes* for our pizza. Obviously, we cancelled the meal. We waited a useless 5 minutes for anyone to make any effort to collect payment for the crap drinks or even acknowledge our dining experience. After the only waiter said, "Have a great night!" We took our cue to leave. I cannot emphasize strongly enough that anyone who is looking for a fine pizza dinner in Kenosha look *anywhere* but here. There are numerous well-rated restaurants. It truly breaks my heart because I am a Giordano's fan since the mid-90's and still make the trek to Des Plaines 1-2 a year to go to the Giordano's restaurant I first discovered. (A top-notch Giordano's if you're in the O'Hare area.) The Kenosha location, based on my three visits over about two years, is noisy, dirty, poorly staffed and trained, and wholly disappointing. So happy the classic has moved into the neighborhood. This place is clean and modern and brings all the best deep dish goodness that I've come to expect from this brand. We got the sausage and mushroom deep dish and it made the whole evening. We tried to finish the pizza, but there was just too much. So cheesy and flavorful. The crust is buttery and flaky. Always filling and somehow leaves you wanting more. During the epidemic, they've been extremely accommodating and adaptable, even "greeting" is by walking to our car as we first pulled in. We couldn't wait to try Giordano's in Kenosha since they recently opened and having experienced over an hour wait in Chicago because it is so worth it, it has been so packed every time we went by... but hey, Delivery is Just as Great. Never a disappointment... all I can say is WOW, their Pizza is Phenom Delish. Something about folding a triangle fantastic made Pizza and savoring every bite!!! So Good and So Glad they are right here in Kenosha, WI. The Special is now our Fav, the thin crust was perfect and the Toppings savoring Fantastic. My husband and I are visiting from California and decided to dine here with my inlaws who are Chicago Deep Dish Pizza style fans. I thought it was just me being picky because I've had 2 deep dish pizzas in the past 7 years and they were amazing so my taste buds remember them. I give this restaurant a 2 because of the service, the wait time to get seated was 10min despite it being full. The waitress was really nice, constantly coming to our table to re fill our drinks and asking us about the experience, then the supervisor started assisting us after she went to break. We ordered a large 5 meat deep dish pizza. When we cut it we got the advertised cheesy string, but all the toppings started sliding off. When tasting it, you can taste chunks of watery tomato. When seeing everyone else pizza it looks like the deep dishes we have tried in the past, BUT they were medium sized pizzas. So, maybe this restaurant doesn't get Large orders often? Since it was the supervisor that was assisting us at the moment we let him know about our disappointment, when normally we would let it slide and deal with it, but it was just such a let down we had to. He apologized and let us know he can give us a discount or make a fresh one. We chose to get a fresh one. So we waited another 30min for a new pizza and while it looked way less soggy, because they added less sauce, the bottom crust was undercooked, but we just left it at that and tried to enjoy one more slice. I am not sure how to write this review. Giordano's is the first Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. I was introduced to 25 years ago and was AMAZED being from Virginia and love it love it love it!!!! My wife loves a BBQ Chicken pizza as I do not, but Giordano's is my fav. One of the best pies I have ever had!! Hands down! We even just had 2 pies shipped to our son stationed in Arizona this week. BEST Chicago pizza everyday all day! However this past time last night 2-26-21 I ordered the Italian beef Sandwhich just do to a craving and not in a pizza mood. Sad to say but it was horrible. It was to the point last nights was 2 bites and done. The bread was too hard to bite into and the beef was so dy uneatable. They say to offer "sweet peppers" how ever they are green peppers. If I was to know that I would have at least gone with Giardinara. It is supposed to come with AUS JUS but super dry I have yet to taste a drop of it. I spent close to $10 on a sandwich and that I could not eat any of it. like I said last night has me to the ultimate decision to never order an Italian Beef sandwich again from Giordano's. I will spend the 30 minutes to go to Portillo's in Gurnee for a beef which is a shame, but that's Ok. I am not looking to Roast Giordano's at all. THEIR PIZZA IS SECOND TO NONE. We have been looking forward to this location opening for a while now since we are big deep dish fans. Tonight we ordered deep dish pizza at 5:10 for a 6:40 delivery. Our pizza was 30 minutes late delivered at 7:10. At this point the family was ravenous and we dove in. The disappointment continued. Our pizza was luke warm at best. I know this is a new location and they're probably still working out the kinks, but if my pizza is going to be 30 minutes late I expect it to at least be hot. I will give them another chance once they've had some time to figure things out and hopefully we have a better experience next time. read more

So this was only our second time eating here. The first time it was opening week and we waited over 1.5 hours to be seated. But that's to be expected. This time around we got seated pretty quickly. Ordered a deep dish right away due to the 40 minute cook time. The waitress came back to take the rest of our orders and we ordered chicken wings and a sandwiches to come out with our deep dish. The kids got their meals and finished up, we got our deep dish after the 40 minute wait. Never got our chicken wings or sandwich which were suppose to come out with the pizza. Without noticing our waitress asked us if we wanted boxes. We only got our food after we mentioned something to a manager. Edit: Giordano's replied to me on here in some attempt to rectify this experience. I emailed them at the email address they provided (see the comment) and never heard anything back! Par for the course, I guess. Ordered three pizzas on Christmas Eve for multiple families at 4:30 PM. Children waiting to eat diso they can open grandma and grandpa's presents. Was told to pick up at 5:30 PM. It's now 6:30 PM. The place has no idea what's going on, they have probably twenty five people waiting for their pickups. One person ordered at 9:00 AM and has been waiting since 4:30 PM -- they still have no pizza nor even a word about it. No employee has a clue and no manager is here willing to show their face. I'm sure the pizza is great but one must receive it order to taste it and that key step has failed. Will not be ordering from here again. read more

Guys, I wanted to love it. I really really wanted to... but I just couldn't. As someone who used to live in Chicago but is not originally from there, I adore deep dish, but I am not as picky as most natives. When a new Giordano's opened up, I figured I would give it some time before I tried it out. We ordered the appetizer sampler and a deep dish pizza. The appetizers were alright, but nothing special. The bruschetta looked and tasted like it had been sitting around for a while. We waited the 45 min for the pizza, so I was expecting the steamy and cheesy slice of heaven Giordano's is known for. What we got was a warm and bland disappointment. We only had a small slice each which is very unusual for us. I hope this is just a temporary situation because I hate having to drive down to Chicago for a good slice. read more

We ordered a pepperoni deep dish large for delivery at 1620 and would be delivered at 1820 which is a long time for pizza but considering it is a deep dish and I know it takes a long time we were okay with this. Fast forward hours later at 2100 I get called saying the food is finally ready and going to be given to the driver to be delivered. I told the young lady on the phone, no thank you and then called a different pizza establishment that delivered within the hour. The deep dish pizza at this place isn't even all that great for it to take several hours to make. I understand sometimes it gets busy but I feel like our order was forgotten or put at the back of the line, it was unacceptable to wait that long for delivery. We had lunch at the Kenosha Giordano's yesterday and our first time eating there. It was, by far, the best meal we've had at any Giordano's anywhere. We had the appetizer sampler and it came with a ton of garlic bread, chicken and mozzarella triangles. All we're fantastic. We also had a Greek salad and one of the best Italian beefs I've ever had. The deep dish pizza was perfection. The crust was buttery and crisp and really hit the spot. I don't recall our server's name but he was amazing and definitely went above and beyond. Tables are not wiped down properly, there was sauce on the shakers from previous uses, the " fresh plates" stacked under the pizza racks had crumbs on them, the booth seats had grease on them, garbage on the floor.
