Tried the Pizza and it was pretty good CSMO. The Lasagna is a NO, wasn't good with the odd strong flavor. Salad was just basic nothing special. Garlic Cheese Bread pretty basic nothing special. Honestly, I used to love going to Mike & Angelo's. It was a great place for a large group, the pizza was good, and their other dishes seemed to always satisfy other people (I only ate the pizza). After a long break from there (10+ years) I returned last night and it was the same, but not the same. The decor doesn't seem to have changed much in the past decade. There's some new glass between booths, most likely a remnant of Covid times. The interior is aimed to invoke a feel of Italy is my guess. It's quaint, not amazing. The service was good, we were seated quickly and the food took a little while but that wasn't a big deal really. Our waitress was great and checked on us often. No complaints here. The food though has taken a nose dive, in my opinion. I am not writing this lightly or with hurtful intentions. The reality is, I didn't even take pictures because I didn't even want to write this review. Unfortunately, I feel I should. The sauce that came out with the mozzarella sticks and cheese covered garlic bread was basically tomato sauce. It lacked spices of any kind or flavor beyond warm tomato. The mozz sticks were decent. The garlic bread seemed to be just cut skinny Italian loaves drowned in the premade garlic butter with parsley you see used in gas stations by the gallon. It wasn't crispy either, which I really expected it to be. I ordered a large cheese, sausage, mushroom pizza and had hope when the waitress offered me fresh mushrooms. I can't imagine anyone would choose canned over fresh, but I guess it's an option for the less discerning crowd. The pizza was fine. The crust area lacked ingredients for about an inch to an inch and a half, making it dry and bland. The pieces in the middle had all the flavors and they were decent. The biggest complaint I would have is the crust. It's a thin crust, which I like, but it was soggy and not cooked crispy. I would like my very tiny squares of pizza to be able to hold up their own weight and not require me to basically ball them up to eat them. The chicken Parmesan should be avoided at all costs. When it was set down in front of my wife I was sad for her. The chicken literally looked like a potato at first, but it was because it was just a deep fried chicken breast. The same, I am guessing, as you would get if you just ordered fried chicken. The sauce was laid on so heavily it was a swimming pool for the noodles. Personally, I like Al dente, the noodles were cooked way past that and were chewy. It saddens me to say it, but without a massive overhaul in their food, I wouldn't feel right recommending anything other than driving past this place to eat. Stay home and make frozen pizza and box pasta with sauce instead. read more

We tried this place after a recommendation from our neighbor. My wife placed a pickup order, and even though we arrived within the time they gave us, the pizza was cold by the time we got home--and we live only five minutes away. She called to ask for a refund or at least a credit, but the person on the phone said they could only offer a remake. We agreed, but then we were told we had to bring back the cold pizza and that they would replace it with a small pizza. I've worked in a pizzeria before, and I've never heard of anything like that. Even big chains like Pizza Hut or Domino's will refund and remake an order without making things difficult. The staff even asked if we had eaten any of it--my kids had a couple slices because they were hungry, but that shouldn't matter when the food is given out cold. We asked to speak with the manager, who eventually agreed to remake it, but at that point it didn't feel worth the drive back or the negative experience, not to mention the concern about how the remake would be handled. We asked to speak with the owner to request a refund, and we were told they would call either later that day or the next. No one ever contacted us. The restaurant itself looks warm and welcoming inside, but unfortunately the customer service was disappointing and left a bad impression. read more

Maybe it's just Wisconsin but I do not believe that it's ever OK to add Squirt to an Old Fashioned. (Or water to scotch on the rocks.) We came for dinner with friends on a weeknight and were so surprised that they close at 8pm! The drink preparations were classic Wisconsin - they used bright red maraschino cherries (no dark cherry or Luxardo options), served with lots of ice in short glasses and overall too sweet. Should have stuck with beer! The pizza was delicious. We ordered a medium sausage and mushroom with giardinera on half of it. The crust was extremely thin and crispy as we are used to getting in Chicago. The size was smaller than a Chicago medium so there was not a bit left! What a complete disappointment! Our family came in to celebrate our Mom's heavenly birthday today. We normally go somewhere else, but decided to go here because our Mom enjoyed your restaurant. I should have known how things were going to go when my 85 year old Dad asked for coffee and our waitress looked at him like he was crazy. She said she wasn't sure if you had coffee. I asked her if someone could make some. She was irritated and said she would check and came back to say all you had was decaf. So we order drinks. My Dad settled for Pepsi/coke whatever it was. awhile later we ordered our meals. We sat there for some time and our waitress came past our table several times and totally ignored us. During the time she was ignoring our table, she was talking to some guy at the bar so obviously not too busy to tend to her tables. The last time she walked by, my husband said excuse me, can we get more drinks at the table. She walked away with a nasty look on her face and when she came back to the table, she said "maybe if you wouldnt have been rude asking for drinks, you would have gotten better service." In no way was my husband rude. All he said was excuse me to get her attention. We are not rude people and are always kind! To be treated this way was absolutely uncalled for. She stood at our table arguing with us about the situation, while the table behind us looked on at her with disgust and couldn't believe what they were hearing from the waitress. I told her we wanted a different waitress and she ignored my request. I finally asked if we could speak to a manager and she blatantly told me that "We don't have managers for rude customers!" At that point we got up and as we were walking out we were told to "have the night you deserve!" We will never be back again and I hope this rude waitress no longer has a job with your restaurant. Hostess- Inept at answering phone. I think she should of been home with a babysitter. No one knew who the owner or manager is, they passed situation onto female bartender, who looks bitter and unhappy- only to find out she's clueless, past her prime bartending days and too busy serving 2 other customers and gossiping. Our silverware was filthy, our water glasses were filthy, and actual food is drowned in marinara sauce- this is on Tuesday night, not busy.... just staff doesn't care. Ordered a large carry out pizza. Told me 15-20 minutes. Got there in 17 minutes. Was told it was not ready yet, it'll be a few minutes. 15 minutes later I asked and they went back and looked. Told me it is close. 15 minutes later I asked and they went back and told me close again. Had I not paid already, I would have walked out at this point. At 45 minutes later, I finally got my pizza with no apology or anything. So disappointed! We used to go here very often but had not been back in over a year due to bad service or pizza. Well, now that this happened, that is it for us and those I talk with. We will not be back and to be honest, there are so many very good and better options for pizza in Racine and Sturtevant. Really awful experience, both food and service. My dad's spaghetti was cold and when he sent it back, it was returned barely lukewarm. (When we pointed this out to the waiter, he said that he "microwaved it for a minute and a half," as if that matters.) The other plates of pasta were tasteless and drowning in an ocean of sauce. French onion soup did not look remotely like French onion soup is supposed to look, or taste. Our waiter was borderline rude when we politely reminded him that a salad and soup was missing. If I could leave it ZERO stars I would! The pizza is good, but I will never again go to a restaurant that our family has supported and frequented regularly for over 15+ years after how we were treated there on a Weds evening in October 2022 when my husband & I met my parents and their friend there for my dad's birthday. They were busy and having issues with their computer ordering system, things we were completely understanding about! After getting our drinks and appetizers, we had to flag our server down more than 1/2 hour later to place our order. No offer to refill our drinks. All 5 of us ordered our own pizzas (3 smalls & 2 mediums), yet we only received 2 of the pizzas as they were ordered. 1 came a small instead of a medium, 1 was brought out as sausage (ordered pepperoni), and 5th pizza was never made! My husband agreed to just eat the sausage pizza. The server told us that she only had those 4 pizzas, mine was not made ...no offer to get it rushed so I could at least take it to go OR even offer something else that was pre-made. I was left speechless as she just walked away while I sat with no dinner. This situation killed everyone's appetite and she avoided our table after this. Others were given boxes and we waited another 20-30 minutes for our bill, which she came over to me, but only so I could look at her handheld screen and she could show me how she was "deleting the pizza I never got" off of the bill. When I asked her to scroll back up so I could see the rest of the bill so I could see what we were paying for, the owner came over to see what I was questioning. While I am not one to ask for things for free, we were literally charged for everything that was ordered (except the pizza I never received), including the wrong pizza for my husband and the medium pizza that was brought out as a small. The owner's response to me when I told him of the issues was that he wasn't sure what I was upset about because "we're not making you pay for your pizza (that I didn't even get)!" When we asked how he was okay with a customer sitting at a table without being served any meal, he felt I had nothing to complain about because I was served appetizers and my wine! This quickly escalated into a heated exchange of words because no attempt at apologizing or rectifying the situation was ever made by him! He rudely responded that he did not need "difficult customers like us," that we needed to pay our bill and leave and never come back! As the bill got paid quickly and my husband got up to leave, leaving space next to me where the owner then proceeded to put his hands on the table, while locking his elbows like someone would do in a bar after too many beers wanting to engage in a bar fight! My dad did unfortunately loose his cool with this behavior and told him he was being an A-hole. As we all started to walk out to leave, I turned to see he had my dad backed into a corner between a pillar & the bar and was in his face. I had to use my arm to block him and push in between them as he refused to back away, and the server then told ME that WE needed to leave because there were young children in the restaurant and WE were making a scene. She then proceeded to "escort" us all the way through the restaurant and out both sets of doors, with the owner following behind her still trying to engage in arguing with us. I have NEVER experienced anything like this, as we tried to be understanding of the issues they were encountering, there I sat without my ordered meal at a family birthday dinner, and then 2 hours and $100+ later, nothing but a multitude of excuses and personal insults with no attempt at a sincere apology, being humiliated in the middle of the dining room of a small family-style restaurant by the restaurant owner! I still cannot even believe that someone that has been in business this long would ever behave this way in his restaurant full of customers! NEVER again will we go to or recommend Mike & Angelo's to anyone!! read more

Wondering why we haven't added this place to our regular dining out rotation??! The food was terrific! I had the Alfredo with chicken and broccoli which was freshly made and well prepared, tasty! The pizza was also really good and you get to choose between fresh or canned mushrooms (if you're a mushroom person) which we thought was a nice touch. The prices were reasonable too. Plus a well stocked bar and plenty of space to properly social distance, a really nice restaurant. We will definitely be back. read more

I was meeting a friend in the Racine area and like often, my Yelp app helped find a place to have dinner. Enter: Mike & Angelo's. Mike & Angelo's has very limited hours. I needed to know if there was wifi and tried calling and no one picked up late in the afternoon, even. I had to email to ask the question and the answer was that, yes, they have wifi. Great! My friend and I needed Internet for our meeting. As I walked in on a Monday night, the place looked hopping and most tables appeared to have the pizza. My friend and I were not especially wanting pizza so I hoped other things were good, too. I ordered the antipasta salad. My first concern was why it's called antiPASTA instead of antipasti or antipasto, so I wanted to make sure it didn't have noodles, which the young server confirmed. This particular salad comes in two sizes: regular and family size. Since this would be my meal, I ordered the regular and asked for the dressing on the side (I try to make the dressing on the side a regular habit and I never ever regret it, but I do often regret NOT asking for the dressing on the side). I also ordered one of my favorites, onion soup. My friend ordered a pasta and received a complimentary salad with her meal. The server was too young, poorly trained and inept at providing a value for her extra cost of a tip out of my pocket. She was pleasant, that wasn't an issue, but not at all thoughtful. Not even a tiny bit. My friends salad came out and nothing for me. Major service let down. If two people are each receiving two things, we should each get one item first and one item second. This is server training 101. At the very absolute least, ASK. Ask people what they would like first or second of if they want everything together. Again, very rudimentary. I asked the server to bring my salad and told her because my friend and would like to eat together. Jesus, Mary and Joseph thank goodness I asked for the dressing on the side!!!!! I am not kidding it was like a bowl at the Olive Garden, but 100% full to the top. It was so shocking it was almost embarrassing. Now, while I don't mean to complain about getting a lot of bang for your buck, I like lots of food but this young girl could have given me an idea of it's size! And it should come with dressing on the side automatically or recommended automatically. She knew I ordered this by myself and surely would not eat it all. Coating it in dressing would render it inedible when I try to take what can't be finished home. And even though it was overwhelming in size, after the fact I realized it wasn't overdone with the ingredients besides lots of lettuce and there were 3 different types of olives. But as for the cheese and meat and pepperoncini, it was rather light on the ratio. Next came my onion soup and my friend's spaghetti. I have to say, this onion soup was one of the worst I've ever had anywhere. The main reason was that the broth tasted watered down. Really watered down. And as for the cheese, it usually is a generous couple of slices melted and as far as I'm concerned it should really be more than one type of cheese - but this was just one slice of mozzarella. That's it. Really boring. My friend did like her spaghetti and said that the sauce was fantastic. But I can only review my food and my experience. The place opens at 5pm. I arrived at 6:30pm, by friend closer to 7pm. By 8:30 the place was nearly empty and by 8:45 we were told to leave because they were closing. We were told by someone else because our server disappeared. As I mentioned we needed Internet because we were meeting to eat but also for other things so it really let me down how unwelcomed we were after less than 2 hours. I try to stay away from "chain" restaurants, but at least if I went to the Charcoal Grill down the street we could have stayed longer and left when we wanted to. I am sure the pizza is great, but wouldn't know because I had onion soup and antipasta salad. If it's on the menu, it should also be good. If it cannot be executed then remove or replace it. Period, no excuses. And I don't know how Mike & Angelo's would get me to come back to try more items. I would chose another place after this experience. read more

This was our first time here, when we parked it looked like it would be crowded inside and we would have to wait, wrong, we walked in, the awesome smell hit us and we knew right away if it smells that good it's gotta taste good too. My husband had a house salad and was very satisfied with it. I had gorgonzola cheese bruchetta which was awesome, but could have used a little balsamic drizzled on top and maybe some fresh basil sprinkled on top before serving it, but never the less was delicious. Garlic bread was there first crispy, soft and buttery all in one. Pizza came and was thin and crispy and tasted really good, sauce wasn't too sweet and looked like it came out of a brick oven. Staff was really nice, very quick, my husband was barely finished with his water and our waitress had another one there for him! Checked on us twice and made sure everything was good. Can't remember hey name but very good service. WE WILL BE BACK. I think we are going to try the pasta next time, that looked really good too. read more

Most definitely not worth the price and I suspect a disappointment to Italians. Screwed up my take out order the other day. Called in 4 pizzas and when they went to pick it up they said we ordered 2. Well when you order 3 cheese and sausage and 1 pepperoni it's hard to imagine how they come up with 1 of each.
