My family and I have been ordering from Giordano's for over the past 10 years. Pete, who used to be the owner would make his pizzas exceptionally well, especially the stuffed pizzas, they would be perfectly made without any juice dripping through the bottom they would have adequate amounts of sauce and cheese and would be evenly distributed throughout the pizza. Also, the crust was very Well done where it was braided and then brushed With butter and layered wheat pieces of garlic all over the crust. Yesterday decided we're gonna have Stuffed pizza for dinner. I called Giordano's on an unfamiliar voice answered the phone. Reed then ordered our pizza and I went for pick up when I got there, I did not recognize a single person Who was working. I asked for Pete, who is a staple at that establishment, I was told that he is in the back - And was lied to - Pete is never in the back as he is a front facing person And likes to interact with his customers. I talked to the person making the pizzas, and he was very nice. However, when he Pulled my second pizza out of the oven. It was dripping juice everywhere, he then placed it into the boxes and handed it to me. I paid my bill and I left. I even left them a $10 tip. I took the pizzas home and as soon as we open the boxes, everyone was frustrated because this was not the pizzas that we had grown accustomed to for the past 10 years. The crust was exceptionally thick on top and felt like bread around the edges. It was not done the way Pete would do it. Clearly there was staffing missing and also there was sauce that was missing. He did not help that liquid from the side of the pie was not all over my table as it had soaked through the box and damaged The table. I called back to the establishment today to let them know that the quality of the pizza was not what we had been used to. I asked to speak to Pete - and once again was lied to by the staff, they stated that he was Stepped outside. I explained everything that had went wrong to The same person I had ordered the pizzas From yesterday and I asked if the restaurant had been sold. Yes, it had been sold After telling the person not a phone about the bad quality of the food And our disappointment and damaging of my table, all I get was a "thank you" And then I was disconnected. It's safe to say that these people who are running this place, the new owners do not care about their patrons. Do not care to offer Apologies for bad food and customer service and are more than happy to take your money. We will not be coming back anytime soon, And I will be sure to inform everyone about this terrible customer service. Update - I was called after my post and was explained to that Pete is working in the Kitchen, they were super nice. And explained that the pizza leaking happens at times, which I do understand..I was offered a credit. I can't argue with this response. And I appreciated the phone call, but it should have not taken a bad review to get good customer service. Give them a try and be the judge for yourself. read more

Stopped by today for Sunday dinner. The veal peperonato, antipasto Giordano, veal parmesan, and eggplant rolletini we're delicious. Stop br for some over the top Italian dishes. Generous sized portions are a great value. read more

It's crazy to find Chicago style pizza in PA. But here it is. I don't eat cheese so I asked for a veggie pizza minus the cheese.... I know I know wtf is wrong with you, well that's just how my life is. They basically will make whatever you ask them. We ordered one veggie pie half cheese half no cheese. We also ordered a deep dish pie as well. The veggie pie was decent, I wish I would have been more specific about the veggies I wanted on it because it hey added broccoli, which I assume people like, I just don't like it on pizza. But I guess that was on me. Now the rest of my party were very impressed with the deep dish pie. They said it was delicious and cooked perfectly. So if you're in the area and looking for some pizza, I'd say try the deep dish. It's very different from a thin crust because deep dish is literally a pie stuffed with cheese, but you might enjoy it. Homelike and delicious, with a large portion size and excellent value. We go often and always end up bringing home leftovers! Pete is warm and generous with his smile, and can recommend which dish you might enjoy based on talking with you for just a few minutes, and his wife is sometimes back in the kitchen. Their sauce (gravy? Call it whatever you like, but it is thick and rich and delicious!!) will impress you with its flavor and simplicity. My daughter especially loves the Chicken Giordano, and my husband enjoys the Veal Pepperonato and the Eggplant Parmigiana. The deep dish pizza was huge and wasn't good in taste. We were told that there is no other pizza with small size for 2 people and we had to literally throw 6 huge gigantic slices of this pizza. I was a frequent customer but was very dissatisfied with my last purchase. I ordered a baked ziti pizza (nowhere on the website did it say it had meat) I received it had meat sauce on it, I once again looked at the menu to see if I had missed seeing meat as an ingredient but it did not include the ingredients. I called the pizzeria and I believe I spoke with the owner, when I told him I was a vegetarian and the menu did not state the ingredients for pizza (other pizzas on the website menu have the ingredients) . He was rude and laughed at me told me "baked ziti pizza always has meat sauce and that the ingredients were in fact listed on the menu" (they were not) I told him that I've gotten the pizza many times at different pizzerias and it never includes meat. He didn't apologize and just hung up. It would be helpful if the ingredients were clearly stated on the menu for people with diet restrictions. This is really good pizza. I got their pizza for a party when in Pen Argyl. The service was slow, but that was because they had a line of orders. When there to pickup our pizza, someone was on the phone taking orders the whole time. They had plenty of pies in the oven and had to wait for them to cook to perfection before removing and adding another. I give this 4.5 Stars if possible. 18" Pie is enough for 3 growing boys. This is the only place besides Dominos that delivers in Pen Argyl. They get three stars for that. I've not had their pizza in a dozen years, because really - if you're ten minutes away from Sals, you should be going there. Their sandwiches, on the other hand, are pretty good. I was alarmed at the $28 price for two Italian subs and a 2 liter tea, but the subs are fairly large. It's the little things that bug me. The subs are never completely cut into pieces (trying to eat a 14 inch sub daintily while working will never happen), they don't bring a fork with salad when delivering to a business (which is unfortunately not a fork store), and they only have Pepsi products, no Coke. I've ordered from there a dozen times, and I'll probably order from there a dozen more times, but that's mainly because they deliver to my shop. read more

Food is pretty good but service is below average. They ignored our special instructions and ruined dinner for us by putting sauce on the cheesesteaks. They were also very late with making the food and with delivery even though they are 3 miles from my home. I know some places take long to make the food but every time we used to order from here it would arrive almost an hour past the original ETA. Would not recommend this place for delivery. read more

Our retiree group (8) ventured to Pen Argyl. Our table was set and we were greeted by our server, took our drink orders and gave us ample time to look over our choices. Pete came from the kitchen and delivered 3 large plates of bruschetta, the ingredients were very fresh and the flavor was outstanding. The group ordered, Italian hoagie, veal parmigiana sandwich, sausage and peppers sandwich, cheese steak and a personal Stromboli, which could have fed a family of four. The portions were very hardy and the flavor of all the sandwiches were top notch. Our server checked on us often and made sure we had everything we need. Pete also came out of the kitchen and made sure everything was to our liking. Old school service and great food is the key to any food establishments. The pizza was so fresh and very good. My family and I were looking for a place to eat and 3 places we looked at were closed. When we got to here, we weren't expecting to have such great food. Lest start with the horrible Parking. Then move to the menu which had labels over the prices which are so old that the original prices are showing through. Then the food came out and was raw and under cooked. Spoke to the manager and she was very nice and compassionate, but I cannot recommend this place to anyone. We live in New York and come here a few times a year to visit family and everytime we are in town a stop at Giordanos is a must! The stuffed meatlovers pizza and the cheese steaks, especially the cheese steaks are phenomenal. The bread is perfectly crispy on the outside but soft on the inside but somehow never soggy. The steak is very tender and mixed with the cheese on the grill so every bite is perfect and full of flavor. The sauce is also excellent and added at just the right amount. We suggest adding on hot peppers for extra spice. Complimentary wine and garlic knots really show the hospitality of this quality family owned and run restaurant. Places like this are getting harder to come by and even with all of the great places to eat in NYC we have never had a better cheese steak anywhere. We are also very pleased to see many high school students working there and having the chance to make some money and foster a good work ethic, so in addition to the excellent food they are also giving back to the community. read more

Giordanos is such a great place! The onwers are so friendly, and the food is so good, from the free wine and garlic knots, to the really good appetizers and many choices for dinner, you will def be leaving full! Not to mention the best cannolis and other Italian desserts they have! Family friendly, and also date friendly. In fact I have been dining here and ordering from this establishment for over 20 years. The consistency has never changed . The food is amazing . And I have never had a bad dish. In 20 years. That can not be said of any other place. As for the oil in your dish Brenda. Maybe that's called olive oil . Something pretty common in Italian cuisine. Oil happens to situate itself on top of water and other liquids in sauces and pastas . Our visit there last night was a mess. it started when we were offered a complimentary wine. We ordered a red and what they called pink. We got a rose and a glass of sprite? We told the hostess and when she told the waitress we heard her saying that we ordered the sprite. We did get the red wine we wanted. We ordered calamari for an appetizer while we waited for another person in our party. And waited, and waited for the appetizer. Finally got them after we had some garlic knots and ate our salads. We should have canceled the order but we didn't. They were not the best, very rubbery,along with the garlic knots that people rave about. I believe the knots were reheated because they were very tough. The main meals were fine but more is not better in my book. The service was probably the worse I have ever had but again this is a small town and I think the waitress had to be new. We had to ask twice for a refill of water and the waitress looked like she didn't know what to do first. She said she had to deliver food to another table first but I noticed she did that, took orders from another table and then served a different table. She was frazzled. After the meal she came over and said do you want the bill or dessert? We might have ordered coffee but that wasn't offered. I think she needs to be retrained.
