Classic American eats in a family-friendly sports bar & eatery with flat-screens & a covered patio. They run special on different days of the week. We went and my husband and I had there amazing wings, they have all different flavors and we also shared an order of soft pretzels with cheese sauce. Everything was delicious, and waitress was kind.

Classic place to hit in this area. They're known for their wings and burgers, so any variation of those are a great choice. This place is more spacious than it looks from the outside. Their outdoor seating has heaters so even as it gets chilly you can comfortably sit outside. We were seated outside right away and as if they read my mind and knew that I was getting chilly, they came over and turned on the closest heater without me even asking. Started with an order of onion rings, two orders of fries and mozzarella sticks. All of these appetizers came out quick and hot. Everything was delicious and crispy. Two of us ordered the steak bistro sandwich which was a little heavy on the balsamic but at all in all very good. Great service, outdoor seating and great classic bar food.

Located in Wind Gap originally settled by Dutch and German immigrants, "Die Wind Kapf", this Slate Belt landmark establishment has been here since 1960 off of Route 512. Formerly a family business, Detzi's Tavern is now under a new owner. It's a basic local sports bar and restaurant, accommodated by surrounded TVs serving comfort food. Upon entering without reservation, local sports history is displayed throughout the two dining rooms, with plenty of tables filled with patrons. There's also outdoor patio seating available when the weather is agreeable. Despite a short wait, my partner, his family and I were seated at a table for four. There was a nice variety on the menu, consisting of burgers, wraps, salads, cheesesteaks, wings, pizza, and entrees. A separate menu featured the specials of the day. We decided on Veggie Wrap, California Burger, Black Bean Chipotle Burger, and Trattoria Burger. As a side, we ordered the sweet potato fries and onion rings. All entrees were well prepared, tasty, and of nice size. It can get very busy and noisy, but it is a sports bar after all. We can continue to recommend this place.

Small portions tend to cater to older folks but delicious. They serve chips with most sandwiches.

I've driven by their road so many times over the years and never knew they were even there! The outside doesn't scream greatness, but given time I think the new ownership will address that. You can't beat the gorgeous views of Saylors lake and after meeting the staff you can really get behind the folks trying to breathe new life into the place so be patient. They are in the midst of renovating the inside and I look forward to coming back to see the results. Good menu mix of sandwiches and dinner plates. We got seats right against the windows and had a blast on a rain soaked Saturday. We came back for more on a Sunday with friends and had another great experience. The parking lot is big with a deck outside, band area inside, long bar, dining area inside with views along the lake. You can come with kids (check if a bands playing though it can get loud in there) or for any occasion. I would say it's a great place for a date too. Our servers were so kind and quick. The pretzel app was sharable and good, Caprese chicken sandwich (little dry in the middle and sloppy to handle) was decent, French dip was great and my friend loved the meatloaf. They had a local Free Will IPA on tap that was fresh and tasty so I was a happy patron. Menu prices were fair and they have a long list of cocktails. Give them a try. I'll definitely return when in the area. Thanks guys!

We ordered appetizers, but they never arrived. Our drinks took roughly 30 minutes to come out. I ordered a martini flight and unfortunately it was horrible. After waiting another 30-45 minutes after getting our drinks, the entrées finally arrived. I ordered nine oysters prepared three different ways, which were supposed to come with two sides. The sides never arrived. The oysters were just okay... I was so hungry by that point that I ate them anyway. My husband tried one and said it was so bad that he couldn't even eat the whole thing. We decided to order dessert, but after waiting another 30 minutes and never receiving it, we finally got up and went to the host stand to pay and leave. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and professional throughout the evening, and I truly appreciated their attitude. However, the service was extremely slow, and it appeared the restaurant was significantly understaffed. While the employees did their best, the overall dining experience was poor due to the long waits, bad food, missing items, and overall poor experience.

A bad meal at my home is always better than what this restaurant served us today!…read more I anticipated a good meal after reading the reviews but should have known that TRINITY, our server, may have lied when I asked her if the specials' Fried haddock was fresh, hand breaded? I mean for $20? It's not nice to lie, trinity! I really wanted a burger but she shared that they no longer serve fresh cut fries and so, I pivoted to an entree. Ok, Saturday @ 4 pm: my husband ordered the SPECIALS Butter Steak, Brussels sprouts and baked potato. The contents were all brown, he couldn't even distinguish between the glob of (grey meat) steak and the Brussels which were accompanied by a left over, barely warm, starched baked potato!!!!! See photos. Disgusting, he cut into his steak and it was recooked as evident by the GREY middle meat. $22.49 And to pay an up charge for the lobster bisque soup that starts in a poly bag and is standard issue throughout restaurants from the purveyor. Ever notice the soup looks the same at most restaurants. Sad but true! My haddock was deep fried, out of a frozen food box as both ends were super hard and inside fish was hardly haddock. More like whiting or pollock. $20 When a person pays for food, it should be exceptional. But the kitchen staff can serve up surprises that only the cook and server know what's going out on these dishes. ‍ OAD (OnceAndDone) BTW: I've been to the SLATE BELT BREWERY in downtown Bangor, PA 4X since I wrote this review. 1000% better

The atmosphere was old-fashioned and a beautiful step back into history. It appeared mostly in good repair and well-kept. The only flaw I noticed in the dining area was the chipping paint next to our table where it rubbed against the wall and the dust cobwebs beneath the little lampshade on the table. We placed our orders and waited approximately 45 minutes for our food to arrive at the table. It arrived hot and was very flavorful as well as aesthetically pleasing in its presentation. The waitress was very polite, amicable, and attentive without being overwhelming. She provided us with complimentary samples of cheeses from a local vendor. The women's bathroom is INCREDIBLY CREEPY! It is located next to the bar, where a number of men were seated and the door did not fit the frame properly permitting people to easily look into the one toilet room. I had to stand guard for my daughter and her for me. That left us feeling incredibly vulnerable, anxious, and uncomfortable enough to not want to ever return- which is unfortunate. Had it not been for the vulnerability and insecurity of the bathroom environment experienced by my daughter and I the rating would be higher and I would consider returning. But the whole thing was too uncomfortable to be overlooked.
