Just saw that Gios was going through new ownership, so I wanted to give it a try! They open at 11. I ordered a calzone and was in and out of there within 10 minutes. You can turn any of the pizzas into a calzone and was told you can custom make anything you would like. The owner was very nice. He told me that they had a kids party there last night and had loud music playing over the speakers. How fun! There is about 5 tables for seating. Not a ton, but was told they usually get all full! I like how they showed me my food before they gave it to me. I also loved the taste of my calzone. I saw them bake it twice, which gave it a nice crunch on the top! Definitely a good pizza joint and I'll go there again to try a dessert calzone next! read more

First time ordering from this business. Ordered a large supreme pizza, minus pineapple, & asked forextra sauce. Pizza arrived within promised delivery time. Tipped driver. We were disappointed by the "almost no sauce" on the pizza. When my husband called to ask what happened to extra sauce request; he was told there was extra sauce. The person answering the phone had made the pizza & had no apology. We will NOT be ordering here again. Stick with the major chain pizza companies is my advice. I never write reviews, but this place is horrible! My daughters who are 3 and 1 ALWAYS destroy their pizza slices. They only ate a quarter of a slice including my wife and I. The wings were undercooked and I do not recommend this place. If I could give this place a rating of ZERO stars I would. read more

There were no other customers in the store when I came in. The staff was friendly. I ordered two calzones and the bread sticks. My order was ready in about 15 minutes since I did not call ahead. I got a vegetable calzone without onions but the black olives tasted like they were rancid. My husband ordered the meat calzone which he said was ok, but he disliked the tomato based dipping sauce. The breadsticks had good flavor and we got a huge portion for the price but no dipping sauce came with them. The bad thing was the breadsticks were loaded up with too much greasy butter which soaked through the box before I could get them home. I could not eat more than one stick due to the excessive greasy butter. I probably can say I tried it, but likely won't be back any time soon. read more

We wanted to do a pizza picnic while fishing and wanted to eat something besides the predictable Domines, Little Caesars or Papa Johns. Boy, am I glad we did! Gio's pizza is great! We got a large pizza topped with green peppers, mushrooms, onion, sausage, and pepperoni. The sauce is not the spicy, heartburn-inducing kind. It's sweet and flavorful. I also noticed the sausage was more flavorful than any other sausage I've had on a pizza. It's almost like it's peppered, but not spicy either. The cheese tastes silky smooth and the crust was chewy! We also had an order of garlic bread sticks. They were the size of canoes. With the little bit of parmesan that was sprinkled on top of these redwood tree bread logs, I was skeptical that there would be any flavor. I figured it would taste like plain bread. They were actually very good! My husband loved them! My toddler love them too! She muscled two of them around the park. One in each hand. She kept tripping and they were falling in the dirt and duck poop, so she was grabbing a couple more every 5 minutes. Luckily there was tons to go around. The ducks sure loved the grounded breadsticks. Lucky ducks. They were big, but from top to bottom and end to end, they were light, fluffy and tasty!! We're in the area quite a bit hanging the park, doing some fishing, and I think we will make this our go-to pizza place when we're up there. I highly recommend Gio's. I thought I would try a new place since it was close by and I had a Wasatch savings coupon for a two topping pizza. I called and ordered a pizza and asked if I could pay the difference for a pizza with more toppings. She said no because they don't have a key Cash register to charge the difference. I'm actually glad that they wouldn't let me pay them more money because I have had better frozen pizza than Gio's Pizza. Oh well. The wife stopped into Gio's and picked us up some dinner. She opted for a couple calzones and an order of Parmesan breadsticks. She got a vegi calzone and I got the exact opposite, a meat lovers, both came with a tomato based dipping sauce The calzones were sizable with plenty of decent quality fillings. The flavor of the calzones was pretty good, the crust had great flavor and was cooked perfectly but I was not impressed with the sauce. The sauce had a very strong herbal flavor and was a bit too sweet for my liking. The order of breadsticks was huge considering it is only $3. The breadsticks were substantial in size and the dough had a great flavor, however, they were drown in a oil/butter sauce that overpowered them (check out the box in the photo to see what I mean). The wife and I each ate one breadstick and couldn't bring ourselves to eat more. The bang for the buck is awesome, a couple tweaks on the sauce and less oil/butter on the sticks and this would have been a 4 star review. read more

We recently moved to Syracuse and decided to try this place. They are my favorite now. We probably get pizza every single week from here. The slices are huge. My three and five-year-old kids now out-eat me on pizza slices. The breadsticks are wonderful. You can tell they are freshly made. Normally I like cheese breadsticks more than Parmesan breadsticks but I feel like eating an entire order of breadsticks by myself every time. If you order Monday-Wednesday they give you the breadsticks for free. The deserts are great too. Normally I don't like cinna-stix, but they are really good from here. read more

I've been looking for a place like this since moving to Utah 8 years ago: local, high-quality, tasty, and maybe most importantly not greasy. It can be a hard sell for my wife to get pizza for dinner, but Gio's is perfect! We got a Hawaiian, a pesto potato, and Parmesan sticks. All were fantastic, but the pesto potato was absolutely killer. I figured that if one of the pizzas would come out too heavy, it would be the one, but it wasn't at all. We ordered delivery through Yelp/Grubhub on a Wednesday night. We were able to request contactless delivery so we didn't even see the driver. On their pizza boxes they put a sticker that says "Tamper Evident Seal" to show you that the pizzas go from oven to box without being touched by anyone. We live a 1/2 mile from Gio's and our order took about 40 minutes to get to us, so it seems that the prep/cook time is a bit longer than somewhere like Dominos. We ordered the breadsticks, a medium BBQ pizza, and an oreo dessert pizza. We started on the breadsticks. The crust was perfect, not too thick or thin and it had a great flavor. The cheese to bread ratio was good. We weren't crazy about the marinara that came with them. It was a bit flat, flavorwise. The BBQ Pizza was really delicious. The BBQ sauce on top was great and the ingredient ratios were perfect for the most part. Every once in a while the red onions were a little overpowering but it definitely didn't stop us from enjoying the pizza. The medium was about the size of a large from dominos but actually a bit cheaper. We managed to save some room and we dove into the oreo pizza for dessert. It was so delicious! We had it with a big glass of milk, which I highly recommend. We are really looking forward to trying out other menu items and we will probably become regulars at Gio's Pizza! read more

Really pleased with Gio's pizza. So far we've tried their $5 pizza (pep and cheese) twice -- way better and larger than the other place. The marinara dipping sauce it comes with tastes homemade to me, my family loves it, including the kiddos. We also get their breadsticks, they weren't greasy or buttery like people have claimed them to be previously, maybe they made adjustments, but they were super soft and really good with the dipping sauce! If you heat them up for about 30 seconds the next day, they're just as soft and yummy! The location is really convenient and the prices are really good for the amount of food you get. My wife and I have been in twice since the new owners took over. We always enjoyed our pizza and experience before, but it is definitely different under new management. The owner is very upbeat and friendly. On our first visit, I mentioned I like getting a side salad with my food and she remembered the second time we came in a made a point to let me know it wasn't on the menu yet, but I could order it. The side salad was huge compared to most places and the ranch dressing was tasty. This is the first time my wife and I have tried anything but a personal pizza or calzone. She had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the chicken panini. Both were very good and we were happy with our choice. There was a little bit of a wait (about 30 mins), but it was a Friday night and peak time so we weren't concerned about it. If you have tried this place in the past and weren't overly impressed, try it again under new ownership. read more

We have always enjoyed Gio's pizza, they are a good company with good pizza. This weekend we tried out their wings.... They only offer Buffalo wings and they are spicey FYI. Their wings looks big but bitting into them they are supper soft and seems to have way too much skin/fat and not much meat. We bought the 18 piece wings and really didn't want to finish them. Probably one of the worst pizza's I've ever eaten. Crust is flat and heavy. Couldn't tell what kind of cheese it had, might have been Italian. Sauce was tasteless and bland obviously straight out of a can. Toppings were of poor quality, not so good. Could have been cooked longer was not crispy. We were told the credit card machine was not working. We left, got cash, came back paid and went home. Once home, the pizza was cold and incorrectly made. To make matters worse, my account was debited twice for the same cold, incorrectly made pizza on top of the inconvenience of leaving so we could pay cash. I have made four attempts to be refunded. The owner is obnoxiously rude and refuses to reimburse my card even after showing her they indeed made a mistake by providing a copy of the transactions on my account. Her response was to hang up on me. I would rather pay double for the same mediocre pizza than to give them my business. When the lady brought out the food in hot deep trays I tasted the fresh breadstick (which are the best things here) with my spaghetti I was all like nuh-uh girl this can't be that good. Ho Hum pizza. It tasted like the pizza was simply thrown together. It was not bad not good either. It is an average pizza. The lasagna relied too much on loads and loads of cheese and not much beef. The alfredo was lackluster. They were short on certain toppings and it was shortly after opening. The huge problem was one of safety. The floor was wet and slick in several places. I almost fell more than once. There are worse places but there are several better ones. read more
