Our family uses Gios for our events. Great food - steak tips are yummy! Subs, calzones are delicious, too

I ordered a chicken broccoli Alfredo, the lady said to pick up in 15 minutes. I got there in about 20 minutes and the order wasn't ready yet. I said I ordered earlier and they said I didn't tell them exactly what I wanted. I then told them I wanted a chicken broccoli and Alfredo. The man behind the counter said it would only take 2 minutes. No apologies, nothing. I got home opened up my order and there's no chicken. I called them and told them that there's no chicken in my pasta. The lady picked up the phone and then passed the phone to a man and I recognized he was the man behind the counter from the first time. He said I didn't specify if I wanted chicken or not and that's why it was a mistake. He said I can go back and get the correct order for no charge. I went back with the wrong order and they made me a new one. The man came across the counter and said there was a difference of $4 plus change but he'll take $4 only. I said I'll just pay difference because I was hungry and just wanted to leave. He did apologize but felt he was a jerk and not a good business man. I will never go back there again. I started going to this restaurant when I was 17. It's been 30 years! I don't go every day but go once in a while. But still that's no excuse! This place is really pathetic they advertise a liter of soda, Greek salad, large pizza, and boneless chicken for $24.99 but then when you go pshhh the so call tax they add on is ridiculous. The girl at the front says the owner told us we have to do a separate charge for each item, also theres a store charge, service charge, and regular tax. If you ever wonder why this place is never busy it's probably because all the customers are sick of the lies of the prices. Tell me why advertise on the front a sign of certain deals then when you get a receipt it just tells you the final price not the actual break down. I had to ask for about five minutes to get a break down of it. I get it the girl in the front is just saying what the owner is telling her to say but shame on the owner for screwing over customers. Go figure why this place is closed at like 8. I remember reading on Facebook a couple of weeks ago people talking about Gio's and how the prices are never the same and the say one thing on the phone then when you get there it's more$$$$$. read more

Gil's pizzeria has been consistently good each time I've ordered. Their veggie pizza is my favorite - it has fried eggplant on it and is different than most veggie pizzas you'll find. Their service is quick and reliable, and inside they're friendly and efficient. We have always taken our food to go. Inside is clean and had a few tables and even a claw game for kids. We will continue to order from here. They also have great coupons or specials like buy 3 large get 1 large cheese free, which is perfect for parties. read more

Pros: service was fine. Food ready quickly Cons: 1. They can't keep they prices straight. Ordering online- 27.45. Called to order and was told 28.60. Went to pay at pickup and it was 29.79. When I asked about the discrepancies they said it was a credit card fee. There are no prices on the in store menu. That kind of thing is just shady. 2. Almost $30 for two med subs and small Onion rings. Food was right below ok. Edible but not worth the price. read more

The food is amazing but the service not so good. For example, I ordered a tuna salad and came w/o pita bread. Now, if this were a one time thing, no big deal, but it is constant. Again, I love their food and have been ordering it since I believe January as we tried somewhere else previously and decided to try a different place. Missing items is a chronic issue, especially when you order extra. But come on, an item that automatically comes with your meal. Then do you want us to send it? That will be 35 minutes. the pizza was weird looking and I felt sick almost high like after eating it. i kept waving the driving down he saw me but he drove around for 10 minutes and it wasn't my normal driver it was grub hub .The soda was flat . driver didn't answer anything just some whispers when I told him 4$ for a tip he couldve added it after I told him but I had to run back out to tell him 4$ tip again cause he knocked again and first time he knocked driver didn't tell me to do signature either almost a 30$ for medium cheese a soda and 6 mozzarella sticks not worth it anywhere read more

Honestly not so good. Ordered a large margarita pizza and side of onion rings. The pizza was not a margarita, there was no fresh mozzarella and it was not very good. No fresh basil either. Disappointing Tried to actually finish the pizza but we ate less than half. It was loaded with garlic and tasted off. read more

I don't care for the pizza, but the house-made Greek dressing is fantastic. I buy it by the half-pint and make my own salads since their salads don't include olives anymore. The calzones are good. read more

I used to LOVE this place. I ordered so often they knew my number. I moved out of the area, and still came back and picked up food. I haven't since COVID. I went about a week ago, to pick up my typical order. I walked in and was horrified to see that nobody was wearing a mask there wasn't a sanitizer in sight. By nobody I mean, nobody- there were no masks no gloves, nothing, by the kitchen staff or by the cashier. I have spent a lot of money in this restaurant, and I'm sad to say that as much as I love their dressing, their pizza and even their roast beef I just don't feel safe going there again. I'm also going to say that they've been skipping a lot- especially on the roast beef. I hope that they learn and get better but complaints never go anywhere with their owner. read more

I liked the broccoli Alfredo chicken here. Just the right amount of Alfredo sauce. The roast beef if good also. I would recommend them.

Okay got a pen pizza and also a 12.99 salad I ordered a garden salad for 4.00 and was charged 12.99 for it I'm DONE WITH THIS PLACE I'm so mad more about the salad then the pizza I ordered a garden salad I got a small side salad nothing really in container and was charged more then double the price they claim it is . read more

Whenever I'm in the mood for a sub, I always come here. -The tuna, grilled chicken and steak and cheese are seriously the best I've ever had compared to all other sub shops. -I love that they put celery in their tuna, definitely makes flavor way better than just plain old tuna. -The grilled chicken is always cut up really well and never has any fatty or gristly pieces. Same with the steak and cheese. I hate when other sub shops have steak that comes in big ass pieces, but Gios always makes sure to chop it up well. -The onion rings are super good too! read more

Always great food, never been disappointed. They're usually super busy on peak times but the delivery and/or pickup times are rarely crazy. I have always been happy with the food I've ordered but stick to the same few things. Bacon cheese fries are delicious, pizza is great, and the handful of subs I've had are on point as well read more

I used to order from Gios somewhat frequently but my last two experiences have been really crappy so hence the 1 star. A few weeks ago I ordered a Caesar salad with steak tips. It arrived with no caesar dressing, either on it or on the side. I called, They said they would bring some by in 10 minutes. Spoiler, they never came! Today I ordered a buffalo chicken sub with lettuce tomato pickles, blue cheese on the side. It arrived with mayo! It was also soggy. I am not going to get fooled a third time! read more

I have frequented this establishment for many years. The food is fair to good. This evening i orderred 4 items. The pizza was burnt. ( happens). I had requested a specific sauce on my chix parm. Did not arrive as orderred. I called to hopefully get replacement of the items. They refused. Additionally stated that the sauce WAS CORRECT!. I have daid food. It obviously does NOT. Have the correct sauce. Poor customer service. 44 yrs in the industry. This is the 1st time I've written anything. Good or bad. Will never use this establishment again. Have a nice day. read more

Go frequently and its consistently good. If you order online and spend $15 you get a free small cheese pizza! Pizza is good, steak n cheese good. Meatball calzone was only thing that was just so so. Nothing fancy just good local pizza and subs read more

Incredibly rude management. Every time I call this place, I get some lady with a noticeable attitude. Last (and final) time I ordered, they took an hour to deliver, and then I find out they give me the wrong subs. When I call about their mistake, they act as if I'm trying to pull a fast one and get free food or something. They tell me that I have to bring the subs back in order to get new ones? Don't know what they plan to do with food already touched by customers, but to insist that I come down to their store on a delivery order is crazy. I admit, at this point, I'm giving them a bit of crap for their policy and attitude. my wife ordered a steak delight which suppose to include onions ,peppers,mushrooms and broccoli( she is a veggie person) this was for a delivery......when it came it had none of the items listed .they did not offer to make a new one and bring it out to us .....they said they would pick it up and then have to make it all over again as if it was my wife's fault for ordering it in the first place . on the menu it is listed as a new item and it prominently displays the items i listed and it is also 16.99 .......will never order here again read more

Horrible, delivery took forever and when got food it was cold, soggy and just plain terrible. Some people like this kind of pizza, (Greek Style) if this is what there trying to make. It's greasy and the cheese is like rubber, it separates from the pizza crust when you pull it apart. Do these places ever say to them selves, "Hmmm should we care that our food is good or not"? They just keep throwing the same frozen dinner quality food in the fryolator and buy the cheapest quality food possible, because this place doesn't care about what food it makes and it shows. We used to live down the street from Gio's. In fact, when we moved into the neighborhood, my husband found this place and we fell in love with the great tasting and reasonably priced food. The place is un-fussy. This is a quintessentially New England-minded Italian-inspired food joint. As in, 'I've lived here all of my life and I don't want any foo-foo crap', now let's eat'. The tables and chairs are standard issue and several years old. Standard linoleum flooring. You walk in and up to the counter and place your order. All of the food prep is done in front of you. The people working there have been there ever since. We had our fair share of pizza's and their chicken caesar sub with the 'secret' sauce. I put away a few of those subs during the few years we lived in Weymouth. It helped keep my homesickness from L.A. from eating me up. read more

I drive by here often so decided to try it. I walked in and ordered 2 slices on a Saturday night at 8. As soon as she said $3, I knew something wasn't right. You can not get 2 slices for that price now a days. She gave me burnt, old gross pizza. She should have just said there was none available. I will not going back!!! read more

I recently had the BLT wrap here. What sets it apart is they diced the lettuce and bacon and blended perfectly with the tomato and mayo. I was honestly very surprised at how good it was. The times I've been in Gio's, the lunch pail staff has been less than friendly. Just think of your standard "I've never been outside of 495" type of person. I don't really care though. Very disappointed with my $20.00 garden salad with Steak tips. Lettuce was wilted, steak was like shoe leather, no onions in the salad. 1 small piece of tomato. I would highly recommend staying away from this atrocity of a sub shop in Weymouth!! read more

This is a really solid place. It has something for everyone on the menu, but specifically, they have a solid red sauce (read: NOT TOO SWEET!) which means that you can't go wrong ordering their pizzas, their hot subs (the chicken parm sub is awesome IMO) or anything that you can dip in that red stuff. Decidedly impressed and glad that it's around the corner and I can walk there if I want to pick-up, or for those lazy days, I'll enjoy having them bring the food to my door! read more

First time trying and last. By far the worst pizza I've had in YEARS. The cheese almost tasted fake, the crust was paper thin, the dough was soggy. Basically the pizza tasted like Chuck E.Cheese. When you give an order with specific directions. "Well done". It should be no problem for the cook. Unfortunately there's no telling where my order went wrong. Order taking? Cooking? After my order was delivered I called back and gave them a chance to fix it. Unfortunately there was no customer value because the order taker said "not my problem", and the cook in the background wanted to argue as well overhearing the order taker saying outloud what was wrong with the order. I got the second delivery. The delivery driver yelled he had to come here twice.. mind you I tipped him $4 dollars(.75 miles). I open the second order. This time its what I ordered, but none of the chicken is well done (looks microwaved). The supervisor lady at the time said she would make it herself. This is the last time I order from there. It's my works go to place when ordering out. Anytime someone says Gio's, heads are popping out from around corners saying 'did someone say Gio's?' The majority of the orders from our staff is Buffalo chicken salad, combo salad, and any of the pizzas. They have a nice balanced pizza that is half bar room half deli style. The house salad dressing is to die for, seriously, please can I have your source?! Very reasonably priced and delivery charge is 3$ I believe. We are located probably at their delivery line cut off so the 3$ is not a bother for us. read more
