I dropped the ring off at 1.30pm and had it back by 5pm the same day and now it fits like a glove. Service was super friendly and quick and they sent me a quote via text before doing the work! The icing on the cake was they cleaned the ring too so not only does it fit perfectly now it's also as sparkly as it was the day I got it. I needed to get my boots' soles replaced and was thinking about completely swapping the soles too. Mak provided me a reasonable quote for the rebuild and was also very knowledgeable in the shoe care tips he shared with me. He said he would complete an entire rebuild of both leather boots' soles within the day, and I was able to come before closing time to pick them up. I accepted and left my boots and contact information. Separately from my experience with the shoe repair, a couple came in after me to do a watch repair as I was leaving. Within seconds, Mak was able to identify the problem and said it'd take 10 minutes to fix. Talk about someone who knows their craft very well! He sent a text less than 2.5 hours later letting me know they was ready for pickup. I came before the store closed to pick them up. The boots' soles were revitalized, I put them on and walked around the store with them. I was very happy. Mak is awesome, gets your shoe repair done quickly with reasonable prices, and I will absolutely going to Mak for any shoe repairs I may have in the future!

I called in advance and GWR staff (Jack) advised it was something they could complete in 10-15 minutes. Once they handed the watch back to me, I noticed several deep gouges around the case and case back/cap. I was shocked and immediately brought this to staff's attention. The staff noted one should expect gouges with battery replacements and/or case opening (Unbelievable to hear). Afterwards, the tech took my watch to the back noting he would discuss with their watch maker. Hearing the polisher/buffer running, I immediately told them to stop. Those in the watch hobby acknowledge that polishing in general is best avoided as it can deform/wear out the watch case. Per GWR's claim as "experienced Swiss graduate watchmakers", I'm stunned at the poor quality of work and skill, lack of customer service, and dishonesty. I've taken other time pieces to watchmakers in other locales and have never had such a poor experience. I will never recommend GWR to anyone and would advise others looking for watch repair to look elsewhere.

I cannot say enough about the terriffic level of care that Giovanni and staff give. I brought in my eight year old Rolex for a service and it was returned looking and working like new. I was also missing a link from the band. Giovanni replaced it at no additional charge to the service. He also provided me with a complimentary insurance evaluation letter (which I used in place of an appraisal, to secure personal effects coverage from State Farm). A few months after the service, my watch was damaged in an accident. This caused the pins that attach the band to be bent and damage to a spring. He replaced the pins, repaired the spring and confirmed that the watch was back in good working order. All at no charge and completed within an hour. I will never have my watch serviced anywhere else. You will pay the same for a service at other authorized Rolex service centers, but you won't get the same value. read more

I have a 1959 Rolex Oyster Perpetual (5504 reference/1530 movement) that needed servicing. My dad gave me the watch in 1988. Since then, it has been serviced twice through Rolex Official Jewelers--the most recent being Fourtane's of Carmel in 2003. This past August, yelp.com led me to the Rolex Authorized Service Center in San Francisco. There, I met Giovanni, who spent a great deal of time answering questions about the watch and sharing its history. He removed the back cover of the watch and showed me all of the prior service history dates and locations etched inside. I was quoted a price with a warranty and an estimated completion date. Results? The watch looks spectacular and keeps excellent time. The watch was finished right on schedule and for the price quoted. Thanks, Giovanni! read more

I had such a good experience here that it compelled me to write my first-ever Yelp review. I dropped my Rolex a few days ago and a tiny lume pip broke off the dial. It was floating around between the dial and crystal, and I wanted to get it out of the watch before it could fall into the date window and muck up the innards. I scheduled an appointment and, much to my surprise, they were able to remove it in about 15 minutes. That also included a waterproofing test on the re-assembled watch. It was one of those rare instances when something that I expected to be a pain in the rear was resolved much more easily than expected. It was my first time there, and it's good to know that there's a reputable local option for service/repairs instead of mailing the watch to Rolex. read more

Mr. Giovanni Passalacqua is an honest Rolex service/repair professional. He made an on-the-spot assessment and recommendation for the needed repairs to my Rolex with a very reasonable cost estimate. He completed the repairs within the week and I paid exactly what he quoted. No pressure salesman tactics from Giovanni. He told me what was needed to repair my timepiece and said the tune-up is not necessary unless he discovered something else while making the repairs. A Rolex repair shop/dealer (Stockton, CA) gave me no choice. $1200.00 complete service tune-up and extra for repairs with no estimate. Time - several weeks. Giovanni said the service and tune-up was NOT necessary at this time but maybe later and he quoted me a much more reasonable price. read more

I think I`d stay away from this place. I sent my 1978 sub in for stem and crown. Estimate was given for service ,replace face (Original ) hands,bezel, stem and crown. Total $1400. I feel the center wanted to replace my original subs parts with service parts,keep the originals,resell them. When I opted to replace stem and crown only I was quoted $220.+ $40 shipping and insurance. When watch arrived USPS label stated $18.75 express mail..no insurance and a nice hidden profit! The owner called twice.. First call apologized on answering machine about the shipping ,then informed me that the extra $21.25 went for insurance ..from his office to the Post Offfice! 2 blocks yeah right! read more

Giovanni expressed surprise that my watch needed service because it is less than 2 years old. But it was slowing down. He remembered this had been a complaint of others who had watches with the "new" movement. He thought it was due to inappropriate weight of oil and said he would do as little as possible to make it work again. He fixed the problem and also adjusted the watch for accuracy (something I had forgotten to tell him about). He kept it 7 days to confirm it was running accurately. Solid guy , a real watch doctor , stopped by with my GMT2 Rolex chromo . Watch is 5 years old . Winding mechanism was a bit off I was leaning toward doing a full service . Giovanni was nope you don't need a Service , we can open it up if you like take a look and see if it needs anything . Few day later got call , Giovani with smile on face explained winding mechanism gear was a bit off and was fixed . Giovani is a good guy , honest , and professional . I've been using these guys for 20 years for my '85 GMT master. They have done the usual cleaning as well as some more significant work like replacing the dial and one of the hands. The new regime with Goivanni is a great improvement in turn around time, but still expect a couple weeks. They take credit cards now too. They have even done work small fixes and and crystal polish for free (gasp). They are expensive, but no more than any other place. These are craftsmen afterall. read more

I've been using these guys since 1995 to keep my 1985 GMT Master in top shape. They always do a great job. Yes, the general cleaning is expensive ( $600 in 2009), but you only have to do it every 5 years. Big bonus is that they now take credit cards. read more

It was time for a complete overhaul, service and polishing of my three (3) most treasured and…read morefavorite Swiss timepieces. They are the Rolex Deepsea SeaDweller Professional tool watch, Omega Seamaster Professional Titanium Chronometer and Rolex GMT Master II Professional Chronometer (Coke) . In the case of the Rolex DeepSea and Omega Seamaster, the timepieces also required a new replacement mainspring and adjustment on the titanium wrist band and clasp, respectfully. I have heard great things about the proprietors at United Watch Services (UWS). Specifically, the very experienced, Rolex and Omega factory trained and highly competent brother tandem team of Jessy and Alan Dang. And really happy I did!! Within a very reasonable two (2) week time frame, my timepieces were completely out of service and done. When I went to go pick them up, I was literally floored and blown away by their overall appearance. They were literally like BRAND NEW and of showroom quality once again!! All the little nicks and superficial scratches accumulated over the years from daily wear and tear on both Rolexes were now complete history and a thing of the past! In it's place is an impeccable, flawless, and mirrored liked smooth finish and polish that has to be seen, up close and personal, to truly enjoy, admire and appreciate!! I was utterly impressed and in awe by the workmanship, patience, competency, attention to details, and devotion of Alan, the consummate professional and certified watchmaker which he truly is. Even the Omega Seamaster Professional, with it's natural titanium casing and wristband, looked brand new, very sporty and appeared out of the display case for the first time ever! I'm not sure what magic or technology are being employed here. But whatever it was, rest assured, I'm very pleased, happy, excited and grateful! WOW!! Moreover, the brothers had tested and assured me that topnotch chronometer performance and accuracy of 3-5 seconds + - daily for all my Swiss mechanical timepieces will continue unabated going forward as well. In summary, I highly recommended Jessy and Alan, of UWS, for all of your timepiece overhaul and service needs. They are the consummate watchmakers professional, through and through. They are very experienced, factory trained and highly competent watch makers, with business etiquette, ethics and integrity, beyond reproach. Additionally, I found their overall prices to be VERY fair and highly competitive. Moreover, UWS ONLY use OEM factory and genuine Rolex and Omega replacement parts. Lastly, they are both very cordial, pleasant, friendly and extremely client focused. Bottom line. UWS simply delivers in SPADES!! You will NOT be disappointed! This review is long overdue…read more Such a bittersweet review for me... I inherited my late mom's beautiful Vacheron gold watch from the 1970's that was no longer working and missing a part. I did extensive research and decided on Seregin's and I'm so happy that I did. Not only were they friendly/kind and super professional, but this watch, being a relic, and extremely thin and intricate, at this point, was a hard one to fix. Paul, the owner, went above and beyond, connecting with his own network to find the parts that were no longer for sale publicly. He called me multiple times to confirm the heftier price tag that parts and service would cost and when the timeline would be extended. When I came in to pick up the final product and he listened to my story of my beautiful mother and the watch, he truly had compassion and added to the story of this watch. This wasn't a faceless transaction and for something like an inherited treasure, that truly meant something to me. Overall, they clearly know their business here, from your more normal watch to luxury pieces. They care about the products and the customers they service.

I called in advance and GWR staff (Jack) advised it was something they could complete in 10-15 minutes. Once they handed the watch back to me, I noticed several deep gouges around the case and case back/cap. I was shocked and immediately brought this to staff's attention. The staff noted one should expect gouges with battery replacements and/or case opening (Unbelievable to hear). Afterwards, the tech took my watch to the back noting he would discuss with their watch maker. Hearing the polisher/buffer running, I immediately told them to stop. Those in the watch hobby acknowledge that polishing in general is best avoided as it can deform/wear out the watch case. Per GWR's claim as "experienced Swiss graduate watchmakers", I'm stunned at the poor quality of work and skill, lack of customer service, and dishonesty. I've taken other time pieces to watchmakers in other locales and have never had such a poor experience. I will never recommend GWR to anyone and would advise others looking for watch repair to look elsewhere.

I took my G-Shock GGB100-1A to Ben for a battery replacement after he assured me he could handle…read morethe job. Unfortunately, here's what happened: 1. The job was not completed within the promised timeframe. He didn't bother calling me in advance and informing me about the delay. 2. The incorrect battery was installed, and now the mechanical arms no longer function correctly. 3. Several screws were stripped from overtightening, replacements difficult to find. See the photos. 4. The case is not properly closed, compromising the waterproofing. Have zero trust in this watch after seeing the quality of his work. 5. My follow-up phone call and voicemail were ignored. This watch isn't just a piece of jewelry, it's a functional tool I depend on. Ben should have declined the job if it was beyond his expertise; He would lose 35 dollars but that level of honesty would have earned him a 5-star review from me. This shop might be fine for simple watches, but for more complex or technical work, be aware of the risks. I hope my experience helps others avoid the same mistake.
