This review is long overdue…read more Such a bittersweet review for me... I inherited my late mom's beautiful Vacheron gold watch from the 1970's that was no longer working and missing a part. I did extensive research and decided on Seregin's and I'm so happy that I did. Not only were they friendly/kind and super professional, but this watch, being a relic, and extremely thin and intricate, at this point, was a hard one to fix. Paul, the owner, went above and beyond, connecting with his own network to find the parts that were no longer for sale publicly. He called me multiple times to confirm the heftier price tag that parts and service would cost and when the timeline would be extended. When I came in to pick up the final product and he listened to my story of my beautiful mother and the watch, he truly had compassion and added to the story of this watch. This wasn't a faceless transaction and for something like an inherited treasure, that truly meant something to me. Overall, they clearly know their business here, from your more normal watch to luxury pieces. They care about the products and the customers they service.

He also quoted me $175, which was significantly cheaper than another jeweler I had visited earlier that day. About a week later, I came to pick up my ring, and it fit perfectly. The shape wasn't affected either. In addition to the high quality of the craftsmanship, I also really appreciated how hospitable Vartan and the rest of the associates were. The job was not completed within the promised timeframe. He didn't bother calling me in advance and informing me about the delay. 2. The incorrect battery was installed, and now the mechanical arms no longer function correctly. 3. Several screws were stripped from overtightening, replacements difficult to find. See the photos. 4. The case is not properly closed, compromising the waterproofing. Have zero trust in this watch after seeing the quality of his work. 5. My follow-up phone call and voicemail were ignored. This watch isn't just a piece of jewelry, it's a functional tool I depend on. Ben should have declined the job if it was beyond his expertise; He would lose 35 dollars but that level of honesty would have earned him a 5-star review from me. This shop might be fine for simple watches, but for more complex or technical work, be aware of the risks. I hope my experience helps others avoid the same mistake.

Unfortunately, I was at a festival and lost it so I wanted to replace the watch as soon as possible. I don't have a Swatch store anywhere near me so that's not so easy. They did start selling some of the Moonswatches online including the one I had, but I knew I was going to SF soon and that the store would be down the street from my hotel. Plus, some new colors and models came out that I was interested in. I was taking a risk because collectors buy certain ones up and often wait outside the store for new drops when they release. The watch I was interested in was the grey 1965 which had just come out. I came into the store and was greeted by the staff. I told them my predicament about losing one and wanting to replace it, but also about my curiosity to see other color ways that aren't available to me in SC. They asked about all the color ways I was interested in, brought them out, and added a couple extras that I might like. I was able to compare them all right next to each other and see the small differences like between the Mission to the Moon and the Moonphase which are super similar. I ended up leaving with the 1965 and I'm so happy with it. I even bought a watch for my friend who bought me the initial watch I lost as an extra thank you and to remedy my prior carelessness in losing the first one. Now all is right in the world and I love my new watch. I have to shout out the staff too who were not only helpful, but patient while I made my decision. Plus while I was picking out the watch I was gifting to a friend, one of the female staff members offered to try it on her wrist so I could choose the right size for my female friend.

Every Swatch Store I visited did not have it. I gave up hope until recently. Walked into Union Square store and asked "Peter" if they had the "Mercury" in stock. He said they had every SKU in stock except for the "White Snoopy". What?!! I asked to see the Mercury and was about to buy it when he said they had the "Black Snoopy". I did not know about but; but was immediately smitten when I saw it. I bought it. A tip of the cap to Peter and the entire Union Square Team for their great customer service. You made this guy very happy.

My cousin and I brought our Omegas into United Watch Services for inspection and service. He wears a vintage stainless steel Speedmaster, I wear a Seamaster 300M Titane Chronograph. The shop is small and unassuming, tucked away on the 6th floor of the Shreve Building on Post Street in SFO, and there are various other watch shops listed on the Ground Floor Directory. We met Richard, one of three brothers who run the show, and he inspected our watches, receipted us for them, and told us to expect a call with a set of recommendations and estimates. A day or two later we each got a call outlining what they had determined should be done, and what it would cost. My cousin's Speedmaster had broken hands and had never been professionally serviced. My Seamaster was running slow, lacked a full reserve power, and was generally looking a bit worn from about 12 years of daily wear, diving, sailing, fishing, cooking etc etc. Jessy, the technician brother, discovered that three pins in the supposedly unreplaceable links of my bracelet had worn to a hair's thickness and that my watch was at risk of falling off my wrist at any moment. Keep in mind, I sail, I fish, I dive... Long story short, United ordered necessary replacement parts for both watches from Geneva. For my bracelet, they machined out the old pins and manufactured new pins and tubes IN-HOUSE and completely repaired my titanium/rose gold bracelet for about 1/10th of the replacement cost. They completely serviced, adjusted, oiled, and cleaned and polished both timepieces. The watches look and run like brand-new and we couldn't be more pleased or impressed. Yes, it was expensive, and worth every cent. Thanks for a job well done! read more

My Omega Automatic Day-Date was given to me as a graduation present from my parents over 35 years ago. It stopped running years ago. Not only that, the time was not even settable. I'd basically given up on it. Recently, I purchased a new Omega for my wife as an anniversary present. This made me think about what I wanted to do with my watch. After researching a number of reviews, I settled on giving UWS a try. I filled out the repair form and sent the watch in. A few days later, Jessie called me with a quote of $495. She said the crown and possibly other internal parts would have to be replaced. I also wanted the crystal ($75) replaced as the old one was scratched pretty good. She said the turnaround time would be 7-10 days, maybe more if parts had to be ordered. I've never had this (or any other watch) serviced, but I did realize that $400-$500 was typical for a maintenance service on high-end watches. I expected that the repair cost would be higher given the symptoms my watch had. Ten days later she called back and said the watch was fixed and ready to ship out; it didn't need any extra parts besides the crown and crystal. I received it today and man, it looked great! Watching the second hand sweep around the dial was a real thrill. The replacement parts were genuine Omega.The polished steel was bright again, and the brushed steel on the case and bracelet has a nice luster. Just a pleasure to look at and wear. Now I'm thinking this watch is gonna outlive me! Would definitely recommend UWS. read more

I brought my Rolex to have a few links removed - and was I impressed. Took Jessy, the proprietor and competent serviceman, to do so within ten minutes because he knows exactly what to do..talking about expertise! I also had to have a part of the watch winder for my husband's Maurice Lacroix re-installed - I had to come back after 2 hours for that one, but not only was it glued back well, Jessy managed to clean the exterior, too. Jessy also mentioned to give me a good deal the next time we have our rolexes serviced for maintenance (cleaned, changed the parts and add oil), we'd be willing to come over on a Saturday to do so..we just need to call a day in advance! Thumbs up for excellent service, reasonable pricing and great craftsmanship! The staff were trained by Rolex and other swiss watch companies - check out all the licensed training certs on the wall! As good as it gets! What a great job they did on my 46 year old Rolex. Turnaround was one week. I went to a primo Rolex dealer in San Jose which has an onsite Certified Rolex watchmaker. He said that since it was so old I had to send it to Rolex to get an estimate for repairs. I gave him $125 to ship it to Rolex repair in New York. The estimate came back at $3300. That is no a misprint! I called Jesse at United Watch Services and went to his building in SF. I couldn't remember their company name and went to another company that does watch repair. Quote was $1100 and 4 to 6 weeks. I realized that I had the wrong company and went down one floor to his office. $800 without polishing and on my wrist in 7 days after drop off. GREAT. An excellent watch repair service that stands behind it's work. I brought in a 17 year old Seamaster for repair and it came out like new. About 6 months later, I had another malfunction not related to the original repair and they fixed it for free. I will not take my watches any where else for service. read more

I have two watches that stopped working--one about 25 years old, the other about 40 years old. I probably paid about $50-$100 each for them, but they have a lot of sentimental value. I had to get the movements replaced on both. It wasn't cheap (one had to be special ordered and cost 4X what I originally paid for the watch), but they are as good as new now. They have gained a lifelong customer.

This is my first time with Geneva Watch Repair (GWR) and I brought my Omega Constellation for…read morebattery change. I called in advance and GWR staff (Jack) advised it was something they could complete in 10-15 minutes. Once they handed the watch back to me, I noticed several deep gouges around the case and case back/cap. I was shocked and immediately brought this to staff's attention. The staff noted one should expect gouges with battery replacements and/or case opening (Unbelievable to hear). Afterwards, the tech took my watch to the back noting he would discuss with their watch maker. Hearing the polisher/buffer running, I immediately told them to stop. Those in the watch hobby acknowledge that polishing in general is best avoided as it can deform/wear out the watch case. Per GWR's claim as "experienced Swiss graduate watchmakers", I'm stunned at the poor quality of work and skill, lack of customer service, and dishonesty. I've taken other time pieces to watchmakers in other locales and have never had such a poor experience. I will never recommend GWR to anyone and would advise others looking for watch repair to look elsewhere.

Parking is a little challenging as they're located in Union Square on the 8th floor. I paid for the parking garage since my daughters and I grabbed lunch and shopped nearby after. Movado watches need to have their batteries replaced and be serviced at authorized dealers or you compromise your warranty and the watch seal. I typically go to the Vacaville location since it's closer to me and they charge $50 per watch to replace batteries. It's a little frustrating that it's so expensive but they do a great job. My primary complaint is I've gone there multiple times and nobody was available to service my watch and it ended up being a wasted trip. I was charged $35 per watch for battery replacement and they did a great job and reset the time for me and serviced the watches promptly. That was greatly appreciated as I'm not a fan of leaving them and my daughters were in tow. The office was clean and well organized and by the looks of it their workshop where they service the watches is clean and efficient. I was very satisfied with the service I received and wish I would've brought my last watch that I had decided to pass on due to budget constraints since they were significantly cheaper. I was very pleased and I'll definitely stop by again if I'm in need of having my Movado watches serviced by a knowledgeable authorized dealer. Thank you for taking great care of me.

This is a husband and wife team that run this little shop, and both are very friendly and inviting. They apparently have been running this shop for over 30yrs, and have resided in Chinatown for over 50. Truely a testament to their expertise and honesty. We replaced the batteries on 4 of our watches today, and they have a loyalty card where if you replace 4 batteries, you get the 5th battery replacement free! As it turned out, all of the watches that we brought in today all used the same battery, and each replacement only cost us $5.50! Despite the rampant price inflation over the last few years, these kind people have keep their prices reasonably the same despite rising costs. For removing 1 link, they also only charged us $5. Super nice people, and a business we plan to continue to patronage for years to come. If you pay with a credit card, they do charge a 3% fee to offset the credit card processing fee.
