I ordered a Supreme Pizza and ate at the restaurant. There are plenty of tables at which to sit. The Supreme Pizza was absolutely delicious. Truthfully, you would think a place with a real italian name would make a good italian hoagie. Well, you would be wrong. Probably one of the worst ones i've ever had and i've lived in Phila. my whole life. Don't even bother. The chicken wings were ok but came with no blue cheese, buffalo sauce, nothing. Just plain wings in a container. Pass on that too. The steak stromboli was really big but it was the kind where the ends of it had no meat (just all dough). I doubt very much that was premium rib eye because I've had stromboli's with that and taste much different. They actually did put some tomato sauce in with the stromboli that was OK. While Royersford and the surrounding area may be awash with Italian eateries, it is really easy to find good, bad or indifferent on every street corner. I cannot say I have eaten my way through the menu or nailed every available Italian opportunity...but I stopped here THREE times on my way around the town. I don't know if they had the best pizza, but i can tell you that the stromboli and Calzones were pretty tasty and the servings enormous for the price. Yes, it was not cheap, but it was very good. I honestly think the veggie calzone was not my favorite, it grew more tasty after a day sitting in the fridge. I think some of the veggies were pickled so....meh to that. But it was certainly edible. Good pizza but the prices have really gone up. Over $9 for a house salad last week that had a handful of tomatoes and 3 olives. We ordered online for pick up at the restaurant and the website is terrible. Just really clunky and not well aligned to the menu. Definitely won't use the online ordering again. read more

Again - thanks to the area places closing at 9/9:30 we really were pressed to find a place to eat we could get into without being rushed. After our Thursday debacle at Franzones we found this about 15min away. They closed at 9:30 and we came at 9:00. At first the manager lady pushed back but I promised we would eat fast - much to the chagrin of the waitress. But I kept my word. Ordered Italian fried mozzarella that came with sauce it was incredibly good - the crumbs on it were finely ground making a smith even fry and the cheese was perfect. For my meal I got a Sicilian pizza which I ordered as a medium but upon its arrival was told there's no such thing. I ate two slices and with the clock getting close to 9:30 I kept my word - got a box, asked for the check and we headed out. Would give 5 stars but the counter service is hit or miss - in that it's not really the most organized when they are busy. Not to mention they really need some signs or something so DoorDash and Uber eats people don't feel entitled to just pass everyone else in line who is also waiting to pick up an order (being with one of those delivery services should not result in me waiting longer because they cut to the front and counter staff doesn't stop it). They also should have a sign so the line is is clearly through one entrance and not both. And the prices are a little steep for pizza. (Especially if you don't carry cash). Although if you eat in you get a small basket of garlic knots and they are really good. The pandemic lead to a pretty good increase in price there. And they stopped putting paper under the pizza which has lead to some messy boxes including last night's order where a fair bit of cheese was stuck to the cardboard box between every slice of an entire pie they used to have personal, medium, large and extra large and now it's just personal and large which also means we go elsewhere now when we need more flexibility in the amount of slices needed or when we have a big order because the prices have gotten just a little too expensive and there are other decent places where the cost of a pie is a fair bit cheaper (or who offer coupons). But it's the best tasting pizza in the area. read more

Have had Giovanni's so many times and every time i say "that wasn't worth it". I find their meals to be overpriced and pizza undercooked. The pizzas recently have been extremely floppy and the cheese just drips off? The other day i got half pepperoni and when i brought it inside the entire side of pepperoni gathered at one corner of the box because the cheese just slipped off. Pizza needs to be cooked longer in my opinion. We keep going back because it's on the corner and super convenient but it isn't my first choice. BTW you get charged 3% extra i believe when using a credit card didn't see the sign the first few times. read more

Solid pizza for this area but thats not a high bar to reach. (Theres absolutely no quality pizza up this way). That said we weren't sure if this place is trying to be a pizza place or a restaurant. We were late on dinner and were just in the mood for a couple quick slices, not a sit down meal. But at Giovannis they force you to sit down and get a server for just some slices. Took about 30-45 minutes total for 3 slices that at any pizza place we'd be in and out in 10-15minutes for. Wont be back for slices, if were in a crunch for a pie it might be our best option. read more

First time eating at Giovanni's. The food was decent but by no means worth the price. I had a gluten free pizza, about 8 inches in diameter. I cannot eat wheat or gluten so I was happy to know they had a couple of gluten-free options. I asked for sausage, peppers and onion toppings on my pizza. Little did I know that the modestamount of toppings would cost an additional $2.06 each, that's $6.18 total! Then when I paid the bill, there was a charge for using a credit card. Most businesses are recouping their costs this way now. However, most people do not carry cash. So, for the pizza, a pizzasteak with a small order of fries, a fountain soda and an ice tea, plus tip, the total was $54. The service was good, the place was what I expected in an eat-in/take-out pizzeria. I understand it is a small business. However, when the prices go up and then the businesses charge extra fees, my inclination is to eat somewhere more reasonable. read more

I have an opportunity to visit many restaurants in my travels throughout Pennsylvania, having some close friends in Royersford, hard to find some decent places unless you head to KOP or Philly or even to the Lehigh Valley. I have eaten at this establishment 6 times, all takeout. Food is actually good but the following is a MAJOR problem, also taking into account COVID issues. 1. Arrogant management - you give an honest opinion, you get "It is what it is" - pretty stupid in the restaurant business 2. Attention to detail - The majority of the times I have called you need to explain 5 times to those answering the phones and the order is still wrong, I am talking East stuff. Young kids - don't listen or pay attention, get some better help. Maddening and like talking to a 5 year old. 3. Pickup - understaffed and this place takes way too many orders, over promises and under delivers, basic plain pizza - they tell you 30 minutes and it is an hour. 4. Lines - like you would not believe to just pick up a pizza and the staff is clueless. 5. Irate customers and have seen arguments outside due to the disorganization and lack of parking at this establishment. Advice from someone experienced and working in the service industry: Get your act together, hire people with a brain, get organized, stop screwing up orders and lose your arrogance and sense of entitlement - you are not the only game in town and piss enough people off, you will be gone. Ordered take away online-were told our order would be ready in 45 mins-order was not ready-had to wait 30 more mins while they made our pizza, all while standing in line with a number of any other angry people whose orders weren't ready when they were told either. Hadn't been there for a year or so and was previously a fan as an occasional place to grab some dinner. But, stopped in last night and had some boneless buffalo wings and a salad. The wings were dry and hard like a bad reheat to the point that I was only able to choke down a few. If you are familiar with the movie Christmas Vacation (with Chebby Chase), it reminded me of the scene with the cooked turkey. I can honestly say these were the worst boneless wings that I have ever had, and I eat out a lot. I had been planning to add the wings to the salad, but that was a no-go. It would have degraded a salad that was only marginal at best, in that it lacked freshness and taste; at least the salad was large ... if that's any consolation. Won't be back. read more

Giovanni's used to be my FAVORITE local pizza place, before I went vegan. I even made a list of things to eat before I committed to veganism (nearly seven years ago, damn), and their mozzarella sticks were definitely on there. I recently came back with my family, and managed to have a lovely pizza! The crust wasn't really how I remembered it, it was thinner and crunchier than my memory, but the margherita pizza without cheese tasted really fresh. The sauce was really tasty, and the fresh basil was excellent. I'm pretty sure the garlic knots are vegan. I was super hungry (pizza was taking a while) so I risked it and it definitely tasted like it was made with olive oil, not butter. They were great, super garlicky! If they would offer vegan cheese like they do at Franco's in Phoenixville, I'd be here all the time! There are some great vegan mozzarella cheeses now, like Miyoko's and Follow Your Heart. read more
