TLDR: Surprisingly good pizza for takeout from a gas station, and even a nice place to sit down and eat, both inside and outside. Giovanni's serves a thin-crust pizza, with a very good balance of crust to sauce to cheese. Really like the thinly sliced pepperoni and the quality of the cheese. Style-wise, this isn't quite like NY-style pizza, as that kind is easily 'folded' when a slice is picked up. At Giovanni's the crust is a bit too crisp and stiff to do that. However, it's a darned good slice, and I'd rate it higher than Sabino's across the street. Tacos/burritos are available all day, pizza requires a 20-minute wait as they're baked to order. Call ahead before you show up and grab a table - there's 4-5 indoor tables and a similar number of outdoor tables under a shaded patio. Nice selection of brews on tap, too. I agree with one earlier reviewer re: their phone service, which needs polishing. They interrupted the order mid-stream a couple times and didn't provide a total bill at the end. Someone needs some call coaching! Otherwise, definitely a place worth grabbing a bite. Will update review once I try their Tex-Mex fare. The reviews were decent so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered a supreme pizza and a chicken bowl. The presentation of the food was perfect. First the pizza was a bit salty in taste and had more peppers and onions than meat (the menu says comes with Canadian bacon,pepperoni, and sausage but I only got pepperoni and sausage. I had to pick the peppers and onions off). It was my first visit so I had no reason to make adjustments as I didn't know they would be needed. The bowl had the best reviews but it was lacking. It's a bowl of over cooked rice with over cooked chicken, corn salsa, and cheese. The salsa was perfect, wish I had a little more. Overall the place has potential and the service is better than most in the area. I probably won't return seeing that the prices are a bit much when I can get better pizza for less. read more

Burrito bowl was good, a little heavy on the green peppers. Mexican rice and pinto beans spot on. I ordered a large one half Hawaiian and half pepperoni with mushrooms. It was good. Tastes similar to the ones they serve at the Alamo Drafthouse. Crust was flavorful and firm, definitely not thin crust, but not fluffy. Peperonni thickness was thin. I ordered it with extra cheese, cheese was warm, soft, very tasty and satisfying, not too gooey and not too greasy. Sauce was salty and not too sweet or with weird flavors/afterflavors, just plain good pizza sauce. I do not know which style is it but didn't seem like a New York Style Pizza that has to be eaten like a taco, these slices were normal sized. It's decent. I'm glad I tried it, sometimes I get cravings for the Alamo Drafthouse pizzas so this will suffice for the next one. Cons: I ordered over the phone. Their service over the phone is not good. They didn't provide the total at the end of the call and just ended the call with an awkward "ok". Something like "we'll see you here in 15 minutes" would have worked. The crust is 100% inedible. The website describes crispy pizza and I was excited to try it. The first pizza I got was undercooked inside and the crust was VERY chewy. I called and they happily made me a second pizza and the person I talked to was very nice. The second pizza was not under cooked but again no crisp, and all chew. The outer crust was absolutely inedible. Not crispy, just shoe leather. I would have liked to talk to the owner when I came in the second time but he was insistent that he was too busy to talk to me both over the phone and in person. Oh well. This place has been great for tacos and the pizza is good if you order there but if you call in a pizza order it is messed up every single time. We have ordered from them many times because they are in our neighborhood and our son is a pizza addict. This will be the last time though because we have yet to have an order go well. I ordered a cheese pizza and a meat lover's for dinner. Neither had any sauce at all and were completely soaked in grease! I had to use half of a roll of paper towels to soak the grease before biting into a very tough pizza. I would have been better off getting DiGiorno! Totally disgusting! Got a bacon egg and cheese breakfast taco this morning. I wanted the green salsa for the taco but she said it had to go on the taco. Couldn't be on the side because it takes "2 days to make the green salsa" weird.. but ok. I get home to eat and the bacon is literally the worst I've ever had. It was completely chewy like gum. This little market and cafe is just outside of my neighborhood. One night I decided to order a pizza from them. I didn't want any cheese just veggies... they did a fantastic job! I love their pizza it is absolutely amazing. Their hours state they are open till 9:00pm, but when my call was answered at 8:01pm I was told they stop taking orders at 8:00pm. I was told they do this in order to clean, but that is when you tell the public you close at 8:00pm. If he wasn't busy turning off his ovens he could of answered the phone right away when it was ringing at 8:00pm. Been going there at least once a week, have had pizza which was really good but my main favorite is the breakfast Tacos, they beat any other local breakfast tacos by a mile (always fresh and tasty). So disappointed. The sign outside said Italian restaurant. I should have known better, after all, it is in a gas station! I usually get a meat ball sub from Subway for a friend of mine that eats very small portions and never eats the bread. She does like garlic bread however and thought I'd get her the perfect combo from an "Italian" restaurant. First of all, they weren't prepared or overly pleased to sell just meatballs. They asked how many, I said 3 so they settled on charging me for 2 tacos $4. I also ordered 2 pieces of garlic bread, they didn't seem pleased about that either. First they made just 1 and then made 3 by mistake. There was quite a fuss about it so I offered to just buy the third one but they kept it. They were $2.99 per slice. I also ordered a Greek salad for myself, $4.25. Now, here's how the food came out. The meatballs were dry, no sauce. The garlic bread was sourdough sandwich slices spread with what tasted like butter flavored oil with a hint of garlic. They were tough and dry. The Greek salad was supposed to have tomatoes, it didn't. It was supposed to have Greek dressing, there was no dressing on it. My friend wouldn't eat it. I'll never go back. I noticed they also have several craft beers on tap. Out of curiosity I asked what they charge. They said $6 or $6.50. why would anyone spend that much to have a beer in a gas station? lol read more

Pizza was excellent if you like a thin, flavorful crust. Toppings were fresh and plentiful. We tried a Margarita pizza and Supreme. Both were the best we've had in the area.
