    Large hamburger and jalapeño pizza

Went in for the first time and let me say I am impressed the lighting and display in the store brought me in. Then the hospitality of the workers made me order they were so kind and helpful with picking exactly what I wanted. I got a large pizza with hamburger and jalapeño and it was so good the crust the flavor everything was so good. Thank you so much for making my night so good with a full stomach and 200% satisfaction

Saccones Pizza offers a pleasant surprise with its exceptional quality and taste. Beyond its renowned pizzas, the menu boasts a variety of Italian delights, including pastas, appetizers, calzones, subs, and desserts. The pizzas shine with their flavorful combinations and perfectly baked crusts, while the pastas are equally impressive, showcasing the same level of attention to taste and detail. Standout dishes include the Gourmet Veggie Pizza, featuring a unique combination of aubergine, tomato, and broccoli--a must-try for pizza enthusiasts seeking new flavors. With its diverse menu and consistently excellent offerings, Saccones Pizza establishes itself as a must-visit in Leander. Whether you're craving pizza, pasta, or any other Italian delight, Saccones Pizza promises a satisfying dining experience that will keep you coming back for more.

Not a half Melody's Garbage Pie but was supposed to be

SACCONE? This place has been a long time favorite of our family. We first tried the 620/lakeline and got addicted to it. We now live in Leander and use the Hero Way location. Every time I go in there, there are all new faces. Over the years we have eaten a large garbage pie 1/2 one way n half another: 1st half minus the banana peppers Add jalapeños Add green olives This makes a supreme. On the other half, pepperoni, mushroom, and onion. Extra sauce all over. Last time I went there, the guy said they couldn't half the pizza. I wasn't t happen about it but I said ok. Tonight, SMH, was horrific. Three different times of trying before they got it right. I still got charged full price for no extra sauce and a cold pizza. There wasn't anyone there dining in so there wasn't any ambiance. Please let regional management in on this!!

Meatballs are premade and come out of a box according to the cashier. Pizza was a tad greasy. Overall just underwhelming for $30

Wasn't the best pizza. But wasn't the worst. They have two sizes. We got the smaller size. Got one of their speciality. Ended up being $30. We had a coupon and left tip. We came in and was told nothing other than pizzas could be made because their cook didn't come in. Glad I didn't come for pasta or hot sub. Pizza tasted ok- but there are so many options for pizza in the area and this one just missed the mark. Meatballs aren't made there but come out of a box. Ok for regular chain pizza but when you're trying to stick out as a specialty shop, that's not impressive. I have been to Jersey and loved the pizza there! Nothing stood out as above the bar and for the price I would not come back.

Since 1997, Saccone's Pizza & Subs has offered highly praised, authentic, New Jersey-style pizza at various locations in and around North Austin. The latest incarnation just opened with a limited menu near Lake Creek Parkway and Research Boulevard (not too far from their late '90s location, right next to Goya Sushi and Fresh Heim) and I'm happy to report, they've still got it, baby! We called in (512-257-1200) our weekend lunch order today during COVID-19 madness, and were so happy to hear our 2 pies and 1 order of pepperoni rolls would be ready in about 15 minutes. I arrived to find the small storefront's counter service area busy with customers, about 4 others of whom were in on the low-key soft opening and awaiting their own boxes of pizza heaven. My pizza was just as I had remembered: fragrant with a yeasty aroma, crispy on the bottom, bubbly and chewy on the top, with just the right ratio of sauce to cheese, foldable enough that the large slice doesn't droop down at the point. This is the way a New Jersey-style thin crust pizza should taste and why chef Daniel Saccone so often wins awards in international pizza competitions. There is (for the most part) only one size, 18 inch round, but you can choose from either original or signature sauce. Plain cheese starts at $15.50, with toppings going for $1.50 (whole pizza) or $1 (half the pizza) and "gourmet" toppings for $0.50 more. Specialty topping combo pies go from $17 to $23.50 depending on how wild you wanna get. Oh, and there's a 17 inch square Sicilian thick crust pan pizza if you need a break from thin crust. You can also order regular pizza by the slice starting at $2.50 (but you're going to need 3 at least). Calzones are $8 and pizza rolls come 4 to an order for $7. While they are working to build out the full kitchen for preparation of pastas, sandwiches, and salads, the Saccone's team decided to go ahead and open now for take-out orders of pizza, calzones, pepperoni rolls, and cannoli, basically anything they can produce with their high temperature pizza oven. They expect to roll out the full menu by mid-April, assuming all goes well with permitting. From my chat with the friendly lady who received my phone order and the nice guy behind the counter, it sounds like they will be focused on delivery and take-out orders from this location, while the Leander store will carry the bulk of the dine-in business. Welcome back to the neighborhood, Saccone's!

One stop shopping for primo eating and drinking good times…read more * * * Obsidian Brewery makes beer. I have no idea how the beer is. I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The additional botanicals make it strong, attention grabbing, fruity and yet combative. I was absolutely fascinated. Note that Buddha's Hand Gin is only one of the many items they have to explore there. I am totally ready to do more exploring. * * * The kitchen at Obsidian is also of distinction. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. It is what cheese pizza is supposed to be if you don't use the standard canned ingredients that institutional providers sell to Domino's. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place. Lots of Leanderthals having a fine time in couples and groups. This is not a loner's loser bar. You know - the dark rooms with misfits drinking their sixth beer while watching TV. This is a good folks good times full-of-sunlight place. So you definitely want to come with good folks. * * * Good food, good bottles, good people. And if you are feeling chipper, You can even have a homemade beer to celebrate.

Ordering was very easy, and we were even able to see our pizza go into the over and later come out. We came because of a recommendation of a friend, and when the pizza was delivered we were happy about the melty cheese, but turned off by the mushrooms. They look like (and tasted like) canned mushrooms. Ick. That said, the pepperoni and onions were great, and we really liked the thin crust. However, the sauce left a lot to be desired. It really turned me off, but my companion simply said it was weak and didn't seem pizza appropriate. They have large cans of tomato sauce on their racks, so they clearly make their sauce; perhaps this was an off batch. Overall, this was a miss. We won't be back.

Our server was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the place has a cool little vibe that feels relaxed but still energetic. We got there around 11:00, and by 11:15 or 11:20 the place was already lively and noisy, which honestly tells you people know where the good pizza is. I had the House salad with Caesar dressing, and it was fresh and loaded with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, mushrooms, black olives, mozzarella, and crunchy garlic croutons. For pizza, I ordered the City Pie, and those toppings were giving -- pepperoni, Italian sausage, spinach, mushrooms, onions, black olives, and bell peppers. I'm not usually a huge fan of super thin crust pizza, but this one worked because the toppings and flavor carried every bite. The girls ordered the Queen Margherita, and it looked just as good as it sounds with fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, Parmesan-Reggiano, and basil.
