The gnocchi was bland and barely touched. One friend did say she enjoyed the chicken Milanese, which was the lone bright spot of the night. We don't mind spending money on food--but it needs to be good food. Unfortunately, nothing justified the price point. I wouldn't go back. It is a lovely place run by lovely attentive volunteers. The whole backstory and the good they are doing goes beyond what the food tastes like. The restaurant asks for food donations (suggested $30 per person) for a 3 course meal but if you can't afford to pay you can volunteer some time for your food as well. So several tables are filled with homeless men and women who were also dining there. The appetizer and entree were tasty but the dessert (a chocolate brownie) was a bit hard and stale. Overall it was a wonderful experience that everyone should go to at least once.
