***3 1/2 stars*** This was a total impulse decision, and not one I regret. The Millennial Chum and I stopped here on our way back from the Jersey Shore Outlets, on a tight schedule and in need of a quick bite. I thought from the road this looked like an interesting spot, and the outdoor seating area was large and pleasant. That was enough, and we quickly pulled in. We were both amused by the interior, which is a bit kitschy - from outside you can see some old school Pizza Hut lamps over the table, and there's at least one or two pop culture displays throughout the restaurant. Very cool. This is a blue-collar by the slice-type establishment, which is usually not my jam (I'm pretty snobby and ridiculous about my pizza) but I liked the look of most of what I saw. The specialty pizzas caught my eye and upon confirming that I was looking at a chicken vodka pie, I quickly ordered two slices, which ended up being one slice too many. I always forgot how hardcore an edgy slice is. It was pretty good; interestingly the star for me by far was the crust which, maybe not coincidentally, gave off Pizza Hut in a good way - it was thick and extra crispy, on the verge of a deep dish. The vodka sauce was fine; I really didn't notice it one way or another, and I'm not sure if that's a selling point or not. I didn't like the look of the regular tomato sauce on other pizzas (they looked too thick/chunky for my preference), which is one of the reasons I gravitated to the vodka. The chicken was plentiful, which is probably the one aspect you need to ensure with a slice like this. Like a lot of pizza in this genre, it was reheated and you could tell. There were a few pockets of grease and dried up sauce areas but honestly pretty minimal and easy to navigate around or remove entirely. I rarely discuss my dining companion's food (they can write their own review), but the Millennial Chum wanted it mentioned that her chicken parm panini also came with eggplant, and was very good. Noted. The service was fine. Understandably my slices were ready to rock within a minute or two but the Millennial Chum's meal was made to order or close to it, which took roughly 10 minutes or so. We of course took advantage of the nice day with the aforementioned outdoor seating, and it was nice of the woman behind the counter to bring out her food to the table. Ultimately unnecessary but a nice touch. This wasn't bad, especially given that we just gave it a random shot based on superficial optics. Am I going out of my way to come back? Eh. Tough to say when you have so many downtown Red Bank area a stone's throw away but for this kind of situation, it's pretty perfect. read more

From the outside, those square pizzas in the window looked amazing. Inside, the retro movie posters, popcorn buckets, and Blockbuster nostalgia set the mood and had my hopes sky-high. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't live up to the atmosphere. Things started off rocky when our kid's meal came out first, only for the staff to realize they had completely forgotten about the rest of our order. When our food finally arrived, it felt rushed--and it showed. The garlic knots seemed reheated, undercooked in the middle, overloaded with basil, and lacking that punch of garlic and parm they needed. The pizza had potential: the cheese was quality, the dough was nice and thin, but both were underbaked. No crisp, , no texture, no finish--just doughy. The sauce was fine, but leaned too sweet for my taste. What made it more frustrating was the lack of attention. The restaurant wasn't even busy... just one other table and a few takeout orders - yet service still felt scattered, and the food came out like an afterthought. Would I give them another shot? Honestly, yes. Those square pizzas in the window still have my curiosity, and I'd like to see this place step up its game. I don't think I have ever felt the need to write a bad review before this. My husband and I ate dinner here... I don't want to get anybody in trouble so I won't mention the rude individual behind the counter taking the order. There weren't any regular sized tables to sit in because the workers were taking up the 2 out of 4 booths. We ordered a slice of pizza was okay, a Ceasar salad which tasted like dirt, and a shrimp parm dinner which was good. But when we asked about Parmigiano cheese, points to fridge, the bottle of cheese was empty...so we asked for more....they didn't have any parm cheese left in the whole restaurant. Thankfully this place is next to Acme...my husband walked over and bought me cheese for my dinner. We wanted to grab a slice on the way to Red Bank and Giannis was right on the way. We got there before noon so there was no waiting. I ordered a chicken parmigiana slice and asked that they really heat it up. They did and it was very good. Even though the slice was reheated the crust was crisp and not soggy. A great set-up and the staff did a remarkable job making it fun while enforcing social distancing requirements amid the ongoing pandemic. The food was well-made and the whole thing was a great trip. I've upgraded my rating to 3 stars because the last few times I stopped in here, the slices were pretty good. The guys working the counter are always very courteous. My main issues have always been with the pizza itself and the delivery. I haven't ordered for delivery in awhile, so can't comment on that, but the last couple pies I picked up were very good. My only complaint now is that the size of the pie and slices are smaller than other local pizza shops for the same price. But at least they seem to have fixed the burnt/smoky taste, and that was their biggest problem. read more

This must be where Goldielocks eats, because the pizza is just right. The pizza has the most perfect thin crust ever experienced. The sauce has the best combination of spices that offers much flavor with a bit of a kick, but will not cause any food lovers with sensitive stomachs experiencing aches. When we visit Red Bank it is usually for a concert at the Count Basie Theater and do not have time to sit at one of the many eclectic restaurants Red Bank offers, BUT now we can find a quick fulfilling bite. There are a BUNCH of salty reviews on this page. Mostly from people who are reviewing the counter guys and the fact they they sweep the floors of their restaurant while you are there. If they didn't, the same people would leave reviews saying, "Floors dirty. One star." SMH Gianni's is the jewel of pizza, service, and customer satisfaction in Red Bank. My father and I frequent this place at least once a week for lunch. He orders meatballs with sauce and some bread and I usually get a panini or a salad. Portion sizes on the salads are HUGE. Enough to bring home afterwards and have a small snack later. The Eggplant Rosette pie is my households all time favorite. Creamy ricotta, nice fresh eggplant, an all-star. I have yet to dive into pasta dishes there but I'm going to try the Alfredo tonight and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. As far as the staff goes. They are super nice guys and are always looking out and making sure you're happy. Just the other day j was there with a friend and his Sicilian slice was charred a bit from the flash in the oven. The guy who brought it over asked HIM if he wanted a new one. That's looking out! I hope this place sticks around for awhile. Loooooove the pizza here! Its our local go-to spot for a decent pizza fix in Red Bank. They do a pretty good white pizza which we usually get with half pepperoni and half mushrooms (the mushrooms are fresh btw) on top. Crust made thin, the way pizza should be. Don't bother trying to place an order ahead of time (unless for a large order) as they end up making it when you arrive anyway. There is usually a good 20-30 minute wait for pick up, 35-40 minutes for delivery. You can also print a $2 off coupon from the website. Good parking, outdoor and indoor seating. read more

I've reviewed this store before. I have a restaurant in Redbank and Fairhaven. Their food can be delivered quickly and ready for friends and family to enjoy and been nutritionally satisfied. My review might be weird but their food is truly exceptional and the best in the area. I get my food delivered from them couple times a month minimum. Try it you'll love it. read more

Right off of Route35 in Red bank, Giannis is a cute place to go and grab a bite. Plenty of parking and seating both indoor and outdoor. Staff is pretty friendly and helpful. We didn't have the pizza, we had a burger with fries. The burger itself was fine, was cooked correctly and was on Italian bread instead of a traditional burger bun. Fries were tasty, but the meal wasn't mind blowing, it was pretty average. They did however give us a double portion when we only ordered for one. Not sure if that was intended or not, but it was very nice of them. Prices are right for the area, but the food was a little lackluster to say the least. If I go back again I'll try something different to see how it is. read more

Had a delivery from Gianni's last night. Nothing mind blowing, an average cheese pie and a pasta fagioli soup that was way way too hot to be fresh from the stove top. Time to update - for a pizzeria, it's 5 stars. I'm so glad other Yelpers have left reviews in the past year to reflect the true quality of Gianni's. The slices here are great, and recently I've brought a large group here twice (30 or so people), and everyone raves about the food. I've never ordered anything but the pizza and the wings, and they are delicious. My companions have also liked the sandwiches and soups. Pasta dishes sound good, and the vodka sauce I've had on the pizza was excellent. Those who live within the delivery radius are lucky indeed; I have to drive my own self here. It's true that staff is a locker room vibe, as another Yelper said, but they're definitely on the friendly side of that. Love Gianni's! Their pizza is fantastic. They offer gluten free pizza that's actually amazing (GF crust is almost impossible to find). Wish they had a few dairy-free pie options but they are always willing to load on veggies to my liking. Great staff, always friendly. My fiancé and I love going there or ordering in from them.
