I want for lunch with my twin brother to take advantage of the half price eat in only on Thursday special. I had the Double Trouble sub; Fried chicken cutlet, fried eggplant cutlets, buratta cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. It was the best sub I've had in years. As good as anything from Brooklyn or Staten Island. This is scratch cooking. The chicken and eggplant were crispy hot. The bread slightly toasted in the oven. The buratta cheese melted on the hot cutlet. The veggies were fresh. It also came with additional salad greens, Cherry tomatos halved and onion. It took almost 15 minutes for my sandwich and twenty for my brother's shrimp scampi dish. Well worth the wait. As I said cooked from scratch. A younger couple came in after us and the gentleman commented on the size of my sandwich. I'm 71 and I had to take over half of it home; it was ginormous. You get an additional discount if you don't use your credit card. You can't beat the quality of the food, especially on the half price Thursday discount. They also have pizza discounts on Tuesday after 5PM. $8 for a large pie until 6PM. $10 from 6 to 7PM and $12 from 7 until 8Pm. You will not be disappointed. P.S. The staff is awesome! read more

Peel has one of a kind pizzas and dishes! They believe pizza should be fun and creative, and they really delivered! We started off with the meatballs. They come with whipped ricotta and crostini. Each bite was nice and tender, super savory and melt in your mouth. Their honey mustard chicken wrap was a perfect harmony of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. With the different textures, it gave a nice crunch. Perfect item for takeout for a work lunch! Peel is always creating speciality pizzas to try, so we tried the Bombshell pizza (April 2025)! This lives up to its name - it is fiery, oozing with passion, and an explosion of bold toppings (fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, Calabrian chili, hot cherry peppers). And of course, you can never go wrong with the vodka rigatoni. Their pasta was al Dente and the sauce was rich and creamy with just the right amount of heat. So comforting and irresistibly satisfying! We polished off the night with a yummy little brownie sundae. Have revisited here and there sometime for an upgrade. A very reliable Italian place that's so close to home. Great pizzas with a nice crunch crust. Their counter slice selection is always changing and very creative exploring various combinations even including pickles or jersey corn and both were sooo good. They offer pastas and create your own pizzas as well. They have different nightly specials including half off dine menu. Keep in mind sometimes it looks closed from the outside due to some sort of film covering the window cause of the direct western sun. read more

The sandwiches were hugeee. Doordash also had a buy 1 get 1 free vodka pasta for $22. We just added chicken for extra charge. Our total was $58. It was our first time trying this place out. The chicken is a bit dry for me though. Also, our vodka pasta had peas in it; never seen that before. I had to take each one out they put a lot in and pasta was a bit spicy. read more

Heard a lot about Peel. The location is kind of hidden in the plaza so might take a second to find it. It is a small spot that has an area where they sell pizza by the slice and another small dine in area. The oakhurst pizza had pepperoni burrata and hot honey. It was good but a little oily. It is a little bit of a thicker pizza. The plain was solid too. The crust on bottom was a little hard but all good. The vodka rigatoni with chicken had a nice kick to it. The chicken was served cold which I didnt understand. The meatballs were. decent. Big portion. I really liked the hot honey pepperoni pinwheels. Overall, glad I came. Try this place ASAP. We were the only people dining in and that's just not right for how good the food was!!!! My party of 3 shared 3 items - the Oakhurst pasta, a personal shroom pizza, and the always sunny fat sandwich. Total with tax was $65ish. The Oakhurst pasta was so flavorful, you could tell how fresh the eggplant and mozzarella were. The vodka sauce was rich and creamy. Two of us said this was our fav of the meal. The shroom pizza was topped with that same fresh mozzarella and was decked out with mushrooms and onions. The bottom was nice and crunchy, I love a crust with some chew. Tasted a bit more like sautéed onions than mushrooms but we weren't complaining!! The always sunny fat sandwich was hefty - chicken tenders, cheesesteak, fries, spicy ranch - all packed into a thick sub roll. We agreed this was our least favorite but it was up against heavy hitting competition. By itself, this sandwich would cure me after a weekend out. We decided to eat in the dining room yesterday, Thursday. It was busy- no wonder-we were delightfully surprised to find out that everything was half price on Thursdays! Three older women; we each ordered an individual pizza. Also a mozzarella sticks to share. Delicious food-all of it. The individual pizza is large enough for two people to share. Peel has taken over the old Oakhurst Pizza spot. Placed an order for take out. They've done a nice job on renovating the space. Ordered a plain, eggplant and shroom pies along with a Vodka rigatoni and garlic knots. Pizza was really good and would definitely reorder. Garlic Knots were on point as well. Vodka rigatoni was ok. Not sure what it was missing but the flavor didn't pop. The menu has a lot of interesting pies that we look forward to trying. read more
