Amazing place to go for a salad. Everything was fresh and delicious. The lattes are AMAZING! Great costumer service as well! Loved our waiter!

This is one of my favorite places in Shrewsbury to eat, and that's a hard decision lots of great places in the area. I would give it a five for the food but our service was horrible. Waitress name was Jen let's start we ordered lental soup and my son asked for it to come with his Joey sandwich. The waitress came out with one sandwich and the soups my sandwich wasn't even hot like it was sitting and they just opened but still incredibly good with the great semolina bread ... But my son and husband didn't get there sandwiches to much much later that they wanted to dip the sandwich in the soup. Then in the middle of eating the bus boy takes all our silverware leaving us nothing to eat our salads with smh. While we ate they kept walking past the table making us feel rushed and it wasn't packed plus we had a reservation did I mention we had to grab the silverware off the next table. This place is very cozy and cool but this time the service took that away.

Me and my sister-in-law's tried this place after a spa day. What a great choice the atmosphere was great. I love the decor. Our server was super friendly and suggestive. They had so many good choices for lunch. We tried the turkey cranberry melt and chicken salad wrap. We also tried the fried goat cheese balls so delicious. I tried the soup which I wish was a little heartier but was good. we really enjoyed our meal. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Had such a good experience here. Small menu with seasonal items to pick from. All the dishes I ordered were served fresh and tasted amazing. My favorite was the Cacio e pepe. This is a small byob restaurant with no bar someone hidden in a shopping plaza. I would recommend making reservations since seating is limited.

Always looking for a delicious local spot. I had D'jeet on my radar for a few months ever since we moved down to the area. We finally got to try it on a Saturday night and were impressed/grateful to find this convenient location. The ambiance is low key yet some how you know that the food is going to be anything but casual. They have a unique art piece when you walk in that also serves as an interesting space divider. Service is friendly. Appetizers Goat cheese fritters - amazing, we ordered a second portion Squash blossoms stuffed with chicken, tinga style and fried in a very light tempura batter- unique combo of Latin and Asian, loved it Entrees Homemade ricotta gnocchi-very good Pappardelle Cacio e Pepe in a butter sauce with Burrata-fantastic Dessert Homemade blueberry tart - can't get any better Needless to say- food was truly on point and will be a new favorite for us.

I ordered d'jeet from pickup and got the Grandpa Joey and my friend got the Joey. Both were absolutely amazing and it was a great size. Added bonus their pesto is tree nut free!

Stopped in for lunch today and was surprised by the price of our lunch @ $80 for two people. Did not realize they now charge for drink refills - so 4 iced teas (that weren't very good) at $4 each and there goes $16! Not sure if the menu said that they charge for refills or not, and the waitress did not mention it. Checked their online menu and they don't list the drinks. Add the 3% credit card fee and tax and now we are over $80. What used to be a regular occurrence will now be an infrequent stop. Sorry D'jeet but the drink thing is a deal breaker for me. With tip almost $100 for lunch - so not worth it.

Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the experience felt off. The hostess was noticeably rude and dismissive, coming across as aloof and unnecessarily sharp, which made us feel unwelcome from the start, as though she were doing us a favor by seating us. After being seated, our coffee arrived lukewarm, and the carafe did not keep it warm. When I asked the waitress if she could refresh it, she told me she would need to charge for another coffee, though she offered to heat it in the microwave. That was disappointing. Granted, we were there about two hours, but the wait staff was a bit rude, too. The food was okay, nothing special. We truly miss the previous atmosphere and business model. I'm not sure what direction the restaurant is trying to take now, but it no longer feels warm, friendly, or hospitable.

The bread was delicious. The fig and beet salad was really refreshing! My favorite was the Caesar salad. I loved the dressing and enjoyed the little anchovies on top. We also ordered the halibut dish to share which was delicious. It was moist and flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the Zeppolis to share. It was a nice treat, but we would probably order another dessert, like the evoo cake. It is a little cramped inside and can be really loud. Of the pastas we ordered, we enjoyed the tagliatelle; the carbonara was a bit too al dente (a little undercooked). The presentation and flavors in the halibut was outstanding, although the fish was a bit overcooked. The Zeppole dessert was ok - I'd recommend you choose something else. Also it's BYOB! The restaurant asks for food donations (suggested $30 per person) for a 3 course meal but if you can't afford to pay you can volunteer some time for your food as well. The halibut caught my eye immediately; I'm a sucker for a perfectly prepared piece of halibut or a great pork chop, and since my partner doesn't eat meat it made for an easy share. Earlier in the day, a couple of women at our hotel bar mentioned the chef had trained at Jean-Georges in Manhattan, which only added to our anticipation. It wasn't until we got back to the hotel after dinner and did a little reading that we learned just how decorated Harary really is; his Restaurant Nicholas held Zagat's top spot in New Jersey for 15 consecutive years and earned a 4-star New York Times review. That context made our middling meal sting just a little more. We started with the bread service and the beet salad. The bread itself was baked beautifully, but the butter and ricotta accompanying it were completely flavorless. My partner and I are not salt-at-the-table people; we trust that seasoning happened in the kitchen. This was the first time in recent memory that we actually reached for the salt shaker. Not a great sign. The beet salad should have been a showstopper. Beets, when done right, can carry an entire dish on their own. Instead, they were buried under an avalanche of arugula. Don't get me wrong, arugula is one of my favorite greens; that peppery bite and beautiful texture are hard to beat, but here it was doing all the heavy lifting while the beets sat underneath doing nothing. We'd eaten most of the salad before we even noticed the sunflower seeds and a smear of mascarpone hiding on the bottom of the bowl. That mascarpone, gently flaked on top with the seeds scattered over it to catch in the folds, could have made this dish genuinely memorable. The gorgeous candy-striped radishes were a lovely visual touch, but they were raw, undressed slices with no seasoning, no acid, no pickling. Beautiful to look at; an afterthought to eat. The whole salad felt that way, honestly. For our main, we shared the Panko Crusted Halibut with bok choy and smoked shallot velouté. The sauce was the star; the smoke level was dialed in perfectly, present in all the right ways without overpowering everything else. The wild mushrooms were lovely, but the dish needed something to break up the texture. The bok choy brought good flavor, but it mirrored the mushrooms so closely that each bite started to blur together. Something crispy, something sharp, would have elevated the whole thing considerably. The fish itself was cooked well; firm, flakey, and not dried out. The panko crust was gorgeous to look at but could have been crispier. Based on its beautiful golden color, it looked like it had more crunch than it actually delivered. The cocktails were a genuine highlight. An old fashioned made with 1792 and a Black Manhattan, both well-crafted and the clearest bright spots of the evening. The three people behind the bar were another highlight. Expedient, attentive, never rushing anyone, and willing to make easy conversation without being intrusive. That is exactly what you want from people working a good bar. The ambiance, though, was confusing. The space seemed to pull in two directions at once; it wanted to feel upscale but also like a sports bar, and it never fully committed to either. Three small TVs tucked into the corners would have been fine. The oversized screen mounted prominently on the wall was intrusive and clashed hard with any sense of elevated dining. The music was classic rock, which I enjoy, but it read as wrong for the room and was a tad too loud. The music for this type of setting should be something to just add some ambiance, not for people to shout-sing too like you've had too many beers at a dive karaoke bar, which I love by the way, this was just not that kind of place. Those same women from the hotel bar had also warned us it could get loud and obnoxious in there. We figured we'd take our chances. We probably should have listened. With the legacy behind this place, the potential is clearly there. The bar staff gets it. Now the kitchen and the room just need to catch up.
