Yummy! Three of us for lunch, yes please! We all got salad bar and really enjoyed that, fresh with great soup too! Then one had the portabella mushroom ravioli and really enjoyed that. I visited Giovanni's yesterday with seven guys with my motorcycle group for lunch. I wasn't extremely hungry since we had eaten breakfast at 9am. But I can't resist the mushroom Brie soup. I also decided to get a salad from the salad bar. My buddies ordered pizza. Giovanni's has a wood fired brick pizza oven in the dining room. The restaurant was fairly full but service was excellent. My soup was out of the kitchen quickly and the salad bar had a great variety of different ingredients. We also met another biker group while we were there. Giovanni's Main Street Kitchen is one of our FAVORITE restaurants. We have been here many times, and have never had a bad experience. Service is always stellar, and today was no exception. Hady did an excellent job! On to the food! The salad bar always has the freshest ingredients, along with great soup. One of these days I'll try that pizza from the brick oven, but I can never turn my back on the white chicken lasagna. Hubby claims the baked spaghetti with meat sauce is the best he's ever had. OMG this is the best food I've had in forever! I wish we lived closer ! We are about 1 1/2 hrs away we live in Fort Myers ! We visited on our way to Lakeland Florida and could not believe how wonderful the food was. I just lucked up on this place in remote Wauchula, Florida. I am not sure why I failed to write a review the day I went, but that was probably for the best. The food was delicious and large portions. So I had leftovers. Let me say the sandwich reheated well- surprising with the wrap. The sauce was just enough so that nothing dried out and the flavor and texture were great! Service was excellent, I wanted to sit outside and they were able to accommodate me- even though staffing was slim. I wasn't in a hurry, so my patience was more than appreciated. They gave me the garlic bread for the delay! That helped the tip for the server!!! Beautiful outdoor patio and nice Main Street vibe. I will be in the area again soon and will make this a stop- even if just to get food to go. If I don't eat in maybe I'll grab a pizza. read more

We ordered food to go. The eggplant parm sandwich was excellent as was the margarita pizza. The chicken parm sub was a little dry, and if I ever order it again, I would ask for a side of sauce for dipping. Overall we were very pleased. I would have lunch at Giovannis again. The food was delicious! The service I want to say was outstanding. My server Stephanie was awesome. I left my purse at the restaurant & called. Everything was as it was. Trust worthy staff. Everyone was so friendly. I did feel silly for forgetting something so important. We live in the next town, but we will visit when I(We) get a craving for eggplant Parmesan. Walked in. Waitstaff was friendly. Seated us right away. They only have beer in bottles just an fyi not a knock. Ordered Lobster ravioli and a pizza. My boyfriend said the pizza was really good. The lobster Ravioli was mediocre. The actual dish it was in was hot but the food in the dish was not. Cheese on top wasn't melted at all and the lobster inside was mushy with no real taste or chunks of lobster...the ravioli pasta was hard...needed to be cooked a bit longer. So if they cook it in the stone oven they have...needs to be in a dish that truly cooks the food itself. The salad bar was ok but watch the gnats.... All around ok experience and would return to try something else or have pizza. read more

My Dad, wife and I drove up from Arcadia for dinner out on the town. This is one of his favorite spots to eat where he always orders their lobster ravioli. This evening we arrived "late" around 530pm but they were still able to find us a free table out of the dozen or so that they have in their dining room. Apparently, my Dad typically shows up around 4pm to ensure he gets a seat and good service. Speaking of service, the folks working there are very friendly. They did seem understaffed though and not able to keep up with everyone there. My water glass sat empty most of the night which is my typical service barometer. I ordered my go to Italian dish of chicken Parmesan while my wife followed suit with my Dad getting the ravioli. Our meals came with soup and salad bar. This is tucked in a corner in a tight spot but it had most everything you would want except for pepperonis. A great salad bar to me always has pepperoni. Our meals arrived in a reasonable timeframe and piping hot. With the proper "hot dish" warnings acknowledged, we went to work. My chicken parm was a very reasonably sized cutlet perhaps cooked a smidge too long but still delicious. My one complaint was that the accompanying spaghetti was not well drained. Maybe that is the authentico way to serve it? The raviolis were also a reasonable portion and delicious according to the other two. My wife did call an audible and asked for a blush sauce with hers that was not on the menu but easily accommodated. The restaurant never did quite fill up by the time we left around 630pm. Service was good, our meals enjoyable and the evening out a pleasure. My wife and I would certainly return. read more

Got here around 3:45 and there were about 4 tables already enjoying an early dinner or late lunch. We were greeted and seated. We decided to share the supreme pizza and hubby had a salad bar. We also had garlic bread which was good. The place smells of garlic and spices so we knew it would be good and we were not disappointed. The pizza was delicious the crust was thin and the toppings plentiful. It's always a great day when you find good pizza and this place has really good pizza. We will definitely go back when we come through again. Service was friendly and prompt. I'd like to try a few other menu items as everything that came out of the kitchen looked good. read more

I had the Lobster Raviolie, excellent. Ambiance is nice. Got garlic bread so you can clean up the plate, don't want to leave any sauce behind. My husband had the baked ziti with meat sauce, it was lacking in meat sauce. The ziti needs to be baked with the meat sauce so the ziti sucks up the sauce. The ziti is dry and tasteless with just the meat sauce added to the ziti cheese put on top and stuck in oven to melt the cheese on top. It has a long way to go to be authentic ziti read more

It took forever to get menus and drinks it was cold in the restaurant so we moved outside to another dirty table. Our garlic cheese bread arrived stacked stuck together in a basket . The waitress said she would be back with plates and clean the table the bread was getting cold so we had to start without plates when she finally came back while wiping the table she fling a elbow noddle form the dirty table in the basket holding our cheese bread laughed and pulled it out. I asked for red pepper flakes we were almost done eating before she came back . When we boxed the leftovers she asked if we wanted a bag she never came bag we had to go ask for a bag. The food and service was amazing! Jessica did an amazing job balancing her tables with a very busy restaurant. Five of us ordered different extras - lobster ravioli, margarita pizza, chicken Napoli, chicken lasagna, and chicken penne with broccoli and white sauce. Nice decor, nice staff, a cozy atmosphere. The smell of the stone oven permeated the restaurant. We were served by Christian, she was attentive and extremely nice and helpful. We had the supremo pizza, and Blueberry cheesecake. The pizza crust was great. The toppings tasted fresh. The cheese tasted mild and mellow. Overall the pizza tasted great. But.....the additional toppings caused the center of the pizza to be soggy. A fork was needed. The Blueberry Cheesecake. It looked appealing with blue decoration on top. There were actual blueberries in the cheesecake. The cheesecake was light and fluffy and not too rich. The crust was also a light gram crust not hard at all. Don't let Wauchula's population of 5,000 have you thinking there are no great eateries here. I stopped by for lunch. Well, the garlic bread was fresh & delicious. Its made fresh daily as per the waitress. My 12" pizza was great & wife's meatball parmesan sandwich was fantastic too. We topped it all off with a pecan caramel cheesecake slice. This is the best pizza in the Heartland (since Roserios closed). Their (fried) calzones are absolutely amazing. Food is just delicious. Real Italian atmosphere... every time I visit I expect to see Fat Tony (from the Simpsons) in the corner enjoying some pasta. There is Italian music playing and the atmosphere is just phenomenal. There is a law in FL that every town must have at least one Pizza/Italian joint and this is it in teeny tiny Wauchula. Fortunately, it's worth a stop if you are passing through. ATMOSPHERE- It's directly on the town's pretty main street and note the outside seating as you park for free. Inside is your standard Italian kitsch that you have probably seen a million times. Note the beautiful wood-fired oven in one corner. Also note the basic but adequate salad bar that is very popular. This is a very casual place with every kind of customer represented. ADULT LIBATIONS- They have wine by the glass for sure as I have consumed it and I assume they have beer but have never seen a list. CUSTOMER SERVICE- I think I've patronized this place four times and have never had a problem. My servers have always been efficient and pleasant. FOOD- On this visit I stopped in for lunch and ordered the Spaghetti & Italian Sausage for about $8. Both were made in house. It was plated beautifully and the portion was more than enough for lunch especially when it was accompanied by garlic bread. On other visits, I've found the pizza to be terrific. That wood-fired oven really makes a difference. I've been to most of the restaurants in town and I would rank this my #2 sit-down place. I visited Giovanni's for lunch earlier this week and, since it was my first time visiting, the server recommended the Calzone. The soft airy crust of the calzone was filled with a thick layer of gooey mozzarella cheese and diced ham and paired with a side of sweet marinara sauce. I would give this restaurant a five star rating. If it was just based on their pizza alone, however, taking into consideration the ambience, I can only give it a four-star. Pizza is the best I have had in this entire area which includes Highlands County. You can really taste that brick oven difference. it would be nice if they could fix up the interior a little with some nicer tables and chairs and find a way to eliminate flies in the restaurant. We had lunch there recently and ate in the dining room, and there was a fly dogging our table the entire meal. But if all you're concerned about is getting a really good pizza this is your place. read more

We were craving some pizza and decided to come here because of the reviews and the fact that there just isn't many options around here. When we got here there was only like 1 other table occupied. We placed an order for 2 pizzas and a calzone and then we waited.... and waited.... and waited. The place started to fill up, people would come get their take out orders over and over meanwhile we are still waiting... other tables were all getting their food.... still waiting. I'm sorry but this was literally the slowest pizza maker I've ever seen in my life. The local pizza place here would of pumped out 50+ pies in the time it took this place to make our 2 pizzas and calzone. Like an hour after we arrived we get our food. It was alright. Not bad, not great. Definitely not worth waiting an hour for. Also not cheap. The pies are small and pricey like the fancy artisan pizza places, but unfortunately the quality does not match the price. Cute little restaurant on Main Street. There is free parking out front as well as around back. They have a cute courtyard with tables for outside sitting. Inside is a pretty typical Italian flare atmosphere. They have a nice sized brick oven for pizzas and calzones. That helps to make the place smell fantastic! The staff was very friendly. No complaints at all with that. They are happy to make a suggestion if you want or talk about the local area. Basically they were happy to help with whatever you needed. The spaghetti was a very large portion. The sauce had a different taste to it that I can quite put my finger on. Maybe it was just the heavy tomato taste. Not sure. The meatballs are very good sized. I love the garlic bread! It's made with a thinner bread and crisps up nicely! Very good! The calzone was actually disappointing. It barely had any filling in it. It first looked to be a very nice size but once you cut into it there was not much filling. I would not order it again. read more
