With a full roster of reservations scheduled for their dining room, the four of us walked in and slotted up at the bar for dinner with front row seats to the action in the kitchen. First up: spicy and flavorful Utica greens covered in a healthy sprinkling of cheese. Would order again. After chatting with the owner, we ordered two scallop pasta dishes, a steak sandwich, and chicken Parm (which they were kind enough to make with fra diavolo sauce for my spice lord husband). EVERYTHING was impeccable, and I was honestly tempted to pick up my plate and lick it clean - that's how good the seared scallops over linguine were. Pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was light, well seasoned and well balanced (and not actually on their menu, so bonus points for being willing and able to pull that out on the fly!). Gio's is my favorite restaurant in Clinton. The food is great, as is the service. They know me and so many other costumers by name. It's the type of place that if on the rare occasion your order is wrong they go above and beyond to make up for it. They also give back to the community. They donate pizza to the Clinton A Better Chance program for some of their events and I'm sure they do more than that. It's wonderful small town restaurant with excellent ownership! read more

I have been coming to this establishment for far too many years to admit to and it never disappoints. Not much has changed here over the years other than the prices. They have been around for over a 110 years. The restaurant is nothing fancy and most of their business is take out but to me nothing beats one of their fresh out of the oven pies with their gooey cheese on the bottom and crispy crust. On a warm summer night you can find me sitting outside at their picnic table enjoying a fresh hot pie.
