    Large Cheese Pizza Mozzarella

Went to New York and couldn't leave without getting pizza. This place was rated one of the highest in Utica. I would definitely eat the pizza again. They accommodated about 30 of us in a very short period of time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]With an old time pizzeria feel and staff it's a great vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wasn't the normal New York slice I was thinking of but I'd argue I liked it just as much if not more!

I'd had O'Scugnizzo pizza before but never dined in, so when I was craving some upside down pizza, we headed over. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a super casual joint, with a large dining space with booths and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It reminded me of being a kid and going out to lunch at the local pizzeria.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was friendly and I could tell they enjoyed working together; the front area was full of laughing and lively conversation. We got some cheesy garlic bread, a small pepperoni pizza, and some wings. I was happy with everything, especially the pizza. It's a place I'd like to keep in my rotation for pizza night!

Cheese and sauce flowing off of the crust.

Had a cheese and pepperoni pizza delivered. It arrived lightning fast, but the condition left a bit to be desired, it was so watery that topping flowed off of the crust. Tasted great though. Maybe next time I'll try eating at the restaurant.

A must try, they have been open for over 100 years says it all . Seeing bar stool pizza review made me want to stop and it didn't disappoint. I walked in and ordered a small cheese and pepperoni pizza to go. Took 15 minutes as promised . Never had an "upside down" pizza where the sauce is on top. It was very good . Lots of sauce , the pepperonis are totally covered . And the cheese looks to be sliced cheese to give it a perfect cheese layer. Keeps the dough nice and keeps from getting soggy and for being a small it was a good size for the money ,they do sell by the slice too. Can't wait to have my leftovers . So good

Grew up about an hour away from here and now that I am 30 and moved away I am finally coming here for my first time man am I upset.. I could eat pizza for breakfast lunch and dinner this place is 100% in my top 3 pizza places I will be coming back next time I'm visiting family

A "must" just so you can say you have been here and tried it. It's been going strong for over 110 years. That clearly shows a lot of patrons love it! Unusual pizza - not like the usual American-style pizza. Crust is thick and becomes increasingly crisp and crunchy as it cools. Ingredients are scant amounts, so consider ordering double amounts. Steer very clear of the anchovies unless you absolutely love them. The anchovies are overpowering! Marinara sauce is 100% home cooked and heavy with tomato paste, which can be more bitter than sweet! It's ladled onto the ingredients in very generous amounts. The small pizza will easily feed three hungry adults. Prices quite reasonable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance? Ummmmm. LOL[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. You should try this place. You will either love it or shrug and say, "meh".

The second oldest pizzeria in the country and a place you have to visit if you have not tried it yet. Their signature upside down pizza is hearty and tasty. The sauce is savory and full bodied. The dough is usually crispy. I would highly recommend the pepperoni pie and the sausage pie is delicious. Their pizza is the ultimate comfort food and perfect on a cold Winter day.

Best pizza on earth. 100 years in business says it all. Dont miss it! We came all the way from LA for this.

Only reason 2 slices are missing is I needed to eat SOMETHING.

Went in for a slice on a recommendation. They had about 6 different pizza choices ready to go for…read moreslices. They have a thicker slice than I prefer but I got the mushroom and sausage which was LOADED with toppings. The crust was golden brown looking great but a slightly doughy but hard bottom which made cutting it difficult with plastic silverware as to not dirty my dress clothes. They used a mild spicy sausage which I liked as it gave a bit more flavor compared to the canned mushrooms. Slice was ok and good for a quick easy meal. The cheesecake slice was large and VERY dense with a side of strawberry topping for me to use or not use. It was very thick with large chunks of strawberries. A slice and a cheesecake cost $9. Service was quick and straight to the point. Overall ok quality It won't become a regular place for me but it's good for a quick meal when you have limited time.

I ordered 2 plain slices and 1/2 sausage roll. The girl range it up at $25.xx! I looked at her like I wasn't going to pay that....she recalculated and the price was now $16.xx. Also the pizza was gooie. Should have been baked longer. May have to start looking for another pizza joint To provide consistent good pizza and I think I found it.

Heard they reopened in a new location but never seemed to find time or thought about it. Decided today was the day....Have been kicking myself that we haven't tired it sooner. It was so good. Staff there were friendly, warm, and inviting. We spoke to the owner for a while about a shared experience in DC. The restaurant back in the day was so dark when it was the Black Cat and now is so open, light, and inviting. Nothing fancy but is great for a casual meal. Now for the Pizza.... What makes it so great is the thin light and crispy crust with the right amount of toppings and cheese. They offer many different and unique pizzas and am looking forward to returning and trying several other pizzas. Would highly recommend, truly a five star experience.

It's spacious inside and the staff is super friendly. It's clear they take great pride in their food, and they should. Is it going to be a little more expensive? Maybe. But you're paying for excellent quality pizza cooked in a wood fire oven. It took maybe 4 minutes to get my pizza to my table. There are so many unique offerings on the menu and if you're feeling like trying something different, go for the one with fig, goat cheese, rosemary and an amazing honey drizzle (Miele di Fico). They also do gluten free! Highly recommend for a great quality pizza.
