Although the food at Giovanni's is excellent people should be aware that when I was given my food I noticed that no one there wears a mask. The people preparing food didn't even wear a mask at all. The people in the front wore a mask around their chin (making the mask pointless). If anyone who works there contracts COVID they will spread it to every pizza they prepare. As we're heading into another highly infectious time it is necessary we can trust that food establishments delivering to us are taking the necessary precautions. read more

SALEM LOCATION - I have always thought the quality of Giovanni's roast beef was superior than the other establishment in town but tonight I was greatly disappointed with my purchase. I bought 3 super roast beefs but all I got was six pieces of bread. When you order a super beef you expect the sandwich to be piled high with roast beef but this time I got less meat than a typical junior sandwich. Im not sure if they gave me less because I used a coupon or if they had their mediocre employees working tonight in the kitchen. I'm really not sure why this place only has a 2.5 star overall rating at the time i'm writing this - this place is awesome. I get a pizza from them every Friday - have been for ~10 years now. Haven't once been disappointed, and haven't once had any major conflicts. They're always busy and some times i've had to wait a bit longer than expected, and occasionally my pizza was slightly more cooked than i wanted it to be, but overall they have better consistency than most pizza joints i've been to. When you go here, you're not going to be walking out with a gourmet pizza. You won't be walking out with a neapolitan pizza either, or anything like that. You'll be walking out with a dense and chewy thin crust pizza, with a sweet sauce and greasy cheese on top. And it's good. It's not just good, it's reliable, and most importantly - memorable. This review has been a long time coming... The food is NEVER good. In fact, it's barely adequate. They let you order things on the website that they don't actually have. They forget things, like (ordered) mayo on a club sandwich, or toasting the bread (also ordered). Why 4 stars? First, the delivery people are very, very nice. We ordered Giovanni's for the first time last night and we were delightfully impressed! Pizzas and calzone were cooked perfect! They are one of the good pizza places that use the "metal grate" inside the pizza box to lift the pizza up a little bit away from the box so it won't get soggy. 10 out of 10! Used to love this place. The woman taking orders is so condescending and rude just hearing her voice annoys me. She hung up on me when I was asking to speak to the manager. My employees and I have been ordering from Giovanni's at least once or twice a week. On this occasion we had ordered a large buffalo chicken calzone with 4 cups of blue cheese dressing to dunk or slices in. We drove down and picked up the calzone expecting it to be like there usual delicious calzone. We grab the box and proceed back to our work. We new something was wrong as we opened up the box and noticed all four cups of "blue cheese" were in fact some sort of parmersean or peppercorn dressing. That ticked us off but, we were somewhat okay with just eating the buffalo chicken calzone. To our amazement the calzone didn't even have any buffalo chicken! It was practically cheese and chicken and that only covered 40% of the calzone. The other 60% was bread. YAY!!!! Sarcasm aside we were pissed. We decide to give them a call just mentioning that they had screwed up our dressing and the calzone was not what we ordered. We knew what to expect with the calzone since that's what we order all the time. We get some rude lady that instead of listening to what we had to say, becomes aggressive and claims that the containers with no writing is ABSOLUTELY blue cheese. We disagreed but moved on. We than proceeded to tell her that the calzone barely had any filling and the majority was bread. She practically disregarded the comment. We then asked to speak to the manager who was apparently too busy with something? ( Probably assisting the "chefs" with the making of this awful food) She proceeded to tell us to have a good day and hung up on us. We were speechless. All in all we aren't the only people that have been affected by their rudeness and inability to communicate with their customers. NEXT TIME its Romano's which is right next door.
