Really enjoyed my meal with friends at this restaurant near Victoria Station in London. We all had the Steak and Chips (Fries) with two different types of sauces. We enjoyed both sauces. We all requested our steaks to be cooked differently and were each happy with how they turned out. The chips were delicious with a different flavor to them, the onion rings were crispy and delicious, and we shared a chocolate cake with sauce and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. So decadent! We had been sightseeing all day and it was a nice place to relax, eat a good meal, and end a wonderful day. From the moment we were greeted to when we left, the staff was friendly and courteous. The waiter checked in with us to see if we were happy with our meals and we were! Great experience and I would highly recommend it. read more

Giraffe is a chain restaurant that can't seem to really decide what type of cuisine it would like to offer. To start with, the name suggests absolutely nothing about the cuisine. An English word, a long necked animal. Your guess is as good as mine. I've only ever eaten at a Giraffe twice; once in Heathrow Airport with my parents and the other time at this one here. Neither have been particularly pleasant experiences. The menu offers things from fish and chips, to BBQ ribs, to an asian inspired duck salad. Again, what cuisine is this? I ordered the BBQ ribs, as did my friend Maria and my friend Oscar had the Haddock and chips. It was meh. I didn't finish my ribs as they were incredibly sweet, the sauce was verging on caramel-y, and it was so filling. My main qualm about this branch is the staff. They were rude, dismissive, quite clearly not interested in serving you, and had to ask multiple questions about things we ordered after we'd ordered them. They also, in a chain restaurant selling painfully mediocre quality food, added the 12.5% service charge to the bill. I won't even begin to describe the look of anger and disgust on our waitress's face when we asked if she could take the service charge off. I'd advise you head elsewhere. read more

This was great! The staff was fantastic and the food was delicious. My wife had the salmon teriyaki bowl, my 12-yr old had the kids' pizza, but the toppers were the seasonal choices. I had the Christmas Turkey burger, which was a great treat! My wife had a warm spiced plum cider (Rekorderlig) which was a perfectly warm concoction for a slightly cold night. The food was very good, tasty burger, great salad and also a pretty good selection of both food and drinks. The food is not innovative or gourmet style but they deliver good quality dishes. The variety is also good so most people will be ale to find something they like. Service was friendly and attentive. This is my local go-to restaurant when I'm just looking for a casual meal. Service tends to be on the slow side, but the food is simple and very reasonably priced. Nothing to write home about, but then again you're paying 8 pounds or so for a dish (their Giraffe special= appetizer and main course for 7.95. Marvelous!) I actually rather like the ambiance here - it's pretty busy and happening, yet the lighting of the place is very well done- puts you in a "big city" mood, even though this place is tucked away behind Victoria station! This place is such a joke. For ppl who have never had Asian food by ppl who have never had Asian food. It's not even fusion. Came here bc I saw reviews that it's kid friendly, but the katsu chicken on the kid menu is Spicy! When we asked the waitress she said she's never heard complaints. They offered to re-do one without the sauce, but it came back with a smaller portion of meat. My other child ordered Bulgogi... and it is nowhere near the flavor or cut of meat as bulgogi. Giraffe is a fun place to try. It can be loud, the tables are very close together, and it can take a bit of time to get your food. BUT, it is a lovely menu, lots of options, and the servers are fantastic. We hit up Giraffe three times on our week long time just for the nachos and sandwhiches. read more

How the hell does this place have good reviews? Awful. Customer service is a joke - We had a couple dirty glasses and asked for new ones. The manager took them and gave them back to us as if we were stupid enough to not notice. Most of all, food is gross. Bad quality everything. read more

Yes, i gave it 5 stars.. After walking around all day and seeing all the sights, I was very hungry for a hamburger. Well I had the giraffe burger which was the best burger I have ever eaten. Yes, I am from California, and this was the best. They also have an extensive menu of many foods and they are reasonably priced. The restaurant has outstanding service and is very clean. Tasty food and friendly staff! Their menu has a wide range of different foods to choose from. My cheesy garlic bread was a bit cold at first, but they made me a new one in a hurry! So no complaints there Between my starter, giant burger, chips and onion rings, I ate until I could stomach any more! The burger did cost about £9 but was full of flavour and there was a lot of it. The Giraffe is located a quick walk away from Victoria Tube Station. It is a nice restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The menu features a lot of great vegatarian options, along with this there are a lot of burgers on the menu. I enjoyed all the food options provided and will definitely be coming back. read more

Giraffe is a chain throughout London. This location is nice with a small seating area in front. For families: it has a good children's menu with healthy choices (fresh juices/fruit cups), and not so healthy (items smothered in chocolate chips). We tried a variety of items from the menu including the huevos rancheros, and pancakes. First, the pancakes: the stack is huge (3 large pancakes), and if you opt for a filling (bananas, blueberries or the like), you get smothered cakes! Second: huevos rancheros, we didn't have high standards since we are quite far from the originating culture, but the whole dish was cold (including the eggs). We didn't wait long for food, so we can only assume they were only heated slightly per normal serving. Had the eggs been hot, plus the great sides within the burrito, and copious hot salsa = it would still be far from true Mexican authentic, yet it was fine given the cost. read more

First impression... My fiance and I walked into this place 2 minutes before opening. The waitress stated that they aren't open until 11 am (remember we were there 2 minutes before 11). We told her fine, but she seated us anyways. Once seated we looked to our left and there were customers already seated...eating. Whatever the fuck that means. We ordered the full brunch which was ok. Service was helpful...liked that it was casual yet hip and it was perfect to just sit down for a cocktail with friends overlooking the street. The little tables and candles were cute. I went to Giraffe on a recent trip to the UK, during which I traveled alone. I was looking for a place to eat before my show. This place was great and laid back and I didn't feel awkward eating alone there. My steak sandwich was absolutely delicious and so was my drink (which was 50% off during bar buddies)! My waiter was really friendly and attentive and even took some time to chat with me about where I was from. I'm a regular visitor to Giraffe, and especially to this branch as it's really handy for work. Especially like going during bar buddies, as you can get some great half price wines and cocktails. Had the herby chicken bun less burger today, which is essentially a grilled herby chicken breast, but was really tasty. Came with a lovely fresh salad with included one of my faves, edamame beans. I added a side of sweet potatoes fries, simply because Giraffe do them so well, making them an unresistable addition. read more
