Really cute and helpful place. I had been doing a lot of research on ssc carriers and seen this place mentioned before. So I had my sister go with me to look at the different carriers and get more info. The staff was very knowledgable and helpful. They even had chimparoo trek ssc which I had never heard of before but after looking at it and hearing what they had to say from experience I bought one. Can't wait til my lil one is here! Absolutely love Granola Babies!!! I have a 6 month old and this is the ultimate go to store if you have a little one. They have an amazing selection of children's books, clothes, toys and array of organic baby products. They also have a variety of baby classes that cater to newborns up to preschool age. The staff is also incredibly helpful and supportive. Their Instagram page is outstanding, Giselle the owner is always keeping you up to date on the latest classes and amazing products. As a new parent in can be quite intimidating to ask questions or know where to even begin with the whole baby process. A big store with great natural parenting everything you need for your baby and classes to boot. Yes there are great products (toys, cloth diapers, stainless steel bowls, carriers) but the reason you want to go to Granola Babies is for the great customer service. Giselle and the employees will patiently answer any and all questions you may have about your painful boobs, how to keep your kids poop in the diaper or which carrier will keep your baby close and asleep, when you have to cook/clean/blog. I will be trying the cloth diaper rental when I have baby number 2! And the calendar is filled with fun activities, so you have time to be around like-minded mommies! read more

Any time we are in SOCAL, we always make a trip to Granola Babies. During our last visit we used the Drop-In Art and Play area and my 3 year old had a blast! We attend a Waldorf School, and this space has that Waldorf feel and inspiration. I also look to GB to see what's new and of course to get a little gift to take home. My favorite baby store in OC. I moved from LA last year and wasn't finding anything comparable to the cute little baby shops we have up there. A friend recommended Granola Babies and after finally making it in, I am hooked! The classes are so wonderful and a great way to connect with other moms. All the clothes are so stinking adorable and the products they have are really the best of the best and safest for kids and babies. I've been shopping at this store since they were at their old location. They have a decent selection of quality products and toys for moms/babies. It's great that products that are carried at big box baby stores have been "weeded out" for you and are carefully selected. They also have a great selection of cloth diapers and baby carriers. The store currently carries much more than it did at it's former location. However, customer service could really improve. I have never been greeted while visiting this store, even if I am the only person in the shop and in there browsing for 5-10 minutes. I have also been rung up while the woman at the register talked to other customers at the same time. I've been to this store many, many times, so to never ever get a greeting is really poor customer service. read more

I dropped in today to try the Boba carrier since it was the closest place that actually had them in stock. I love this carrier, and I love this store! They have a nice selection of cloth diapers, and if my little one were not potty trained, I would be buying every cute print they have! For such a small boutique, they are able to hold quite a selection from cloth diaper necessities to carriers/slings, toys, and everything in-between. It was so nice to see so many things that you can't just pick up at a Target or Babies R Us. I was actually there for a little while, as my little one wanted to keep playing with the puzzles they had in a great little play area (I'm guessing this is where the classes were held). I was able to see the owner's interaction with other customers, and it is truely the reason I like to support small businesses. Since my little one is already potty trained, we used their restroom, and I have to say it is super clean, and I had no problem letting him go in there - you know how bathrooms in most places leave much to be desired, but this one was simple, clean, and cute! When we lived closer to it, we'd go to the Pump Station all the time, but now we're so far away, I was happy to find something a just South of us. They don't have the HUGE selection the Pump Station has, but I heard their product selection is continually expanding. Thank you for my awesome carrier!!! read more

use to shop with Giselle when it was a home based business and have seen it slowly expand which is great but i went in today just to get help with a carrier and try one on and was told that i needed an appt and would be charged since i didnt purchase from there. what happened to just wanting to share the love of babywearing? seriously charging to snap some buckles and an appt? seriously, the store was empty. lost my new carrier purchase to another retailer and my business permanently. disappointing. read more

I love this store! All I can say is how I wish I had known about it earlier it would have been nice to have as a resource since it is so close and is the only store that I know of with cloth diapers and a large selection of natural and wooden toys. They also let you rent the baby carriers and show you how to use them so that you can try them out before dropping the 100+ on them which is definitely a huge plus. But I will have to say my favorite thing about this store is the classes that they have put together. This isnt just a store but a community of women dedicated to taking care of their babies in natural way. Its so nice to find moms with the same views and ideals. And to top it off they are extremely friendly and open not judgmental or snobby at all I joined a mommy and me group and all of the women have been amazing and welcoming. I LOVE this store. Giselle is absolutely amazing and very educated on various topics. I first came across Granola Babies during my online search for cloth diapers in 2011. I attended their Big Latch On Event in 2011 and was introduced to the wonderful world of babywearing. I have purchased 3 different wraps, one from Granola Babies, a beautiful, woven Girasol wrap. I've also attended a beauty soiree at the store where organic, natural beauty products were featured and I can't wait to attend the workshop of essential oils. Let me start by saying that I am not a "granola" mom. I try, but there are some things I just can't get on board with. That being said, I absolutely love this place. Any question you could possibly need answered, they have one for you. I love that everyone in there is a mom, and even better, last week I walked in and the woman helping me had her 8 month old in a baby sling while she was working. I love that. If they are out of something or just plain don't carry it, they go out of their way to recommend other area stores that might have it. After I had my son, I wanted to rent a breast pump and Granola Babies happened to have all theirs currently rented out. The lady helping me quickly got on the phone and called 3 different baby stores in the area and found one for me. Amazing. I was so grateful. I go there for everything I need, and I can't wait till my little guy is big enough to enjoy some of the toys they sell there. All natural and no chemicals? I'm in. read more

Had saw a friend post up a pic of her cute son in his Warren G homage "Regulators Mount Up" shirt and asked her where she got it since my cousin is a big fan of Warren G and I had to get it for her and my future nephew. She informed me she got it at Granola Babies. They've been opened up for awhile and it's mommy run business that strives for selling sustainable and natural products. I always passed back this spot whenever I'm in Soco but never really ventured in. Staff was helpful and friendly pointed me in the right direction wrapped up the present in super cute wrapping paper. Had such an enjoyable experience that I went back again to buy my other friends' gifts here. Was so happy to see their bookshelf has a diversity of books for African America, Latino, and Asian families. When I saw they had Grace Lin's books was so excited since none of the local big chain bookstores have it in any of their local stores. Bought two since I wanted support this store rather than Amazon and plus I'm part of the same women's org that Grace Lin's mom is a part of and Grace Lin's is super generous in supporting one of the organizations I'm a part of. Win win for all. They also sell Sophie the Giraffe here so I'll be buying it form here in the future rather than some big chain and usually overpriced chain like Babies R Us. They also do complimentary and some fee-based classes for parents. Cute store, friendly staff and it's a local business. Definitely one of my go-to stores to buy gifts for friends with little ones. I discovered Granola Babies on accident during a random web surfing session. I came upon their website and really liked the products. When I noticed they were local, I freaked with excitement! That was about two years ago, when I was newly pregnant, and I've been a huge fan ever since. I've been to a few of the workshops/classes and they have all been great. I especially enjoy the new location at the OC Mix Mart because I can make an event out of walking around the center, swinging by the farmers market on Saturday, and then picking out some new swag or gear at the store. If you're new to the natural baby product world it can be intimidating to walk in but I assure you that the staff is knowledgeable and helpful and the owner, Giselle, is awesome!! I went to this store and the sales clerk was not friendly. When I went in to look at cloth diapers the sales clerk didn't speak or look at me until I asked for help. Once I did that they offered minimal suggestions (I was brand new to cloth diapering then). The store inventory is very limited and I bought a cloth diaper starter kit originally, then I went back to get more cloth inserts to continue use and they had none. They told me they wouldn't have a new shipment for a month. This has happened many times with items there. How frustrating! I think the store looks very inviting and is a great place for toddlers to play, I just really wish they had better store inventory. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. The owner Giselle is so sweet and friendly and the store is warm and inviting and in a great little part of Costa Mesa. I used to like this place.. was very helpful and had great customer service. I went today and nobody offered to help and the lady who looked like the manager was there chatting away with her friends. I had to excuse myself into their conversation to get some help and I didn't want to be rude so I even apologized for stopping their conversation. I just thought, "Wow! Where's the customer service here?" I wasn't expecting them to kiss my $$$ or anything but atleast acknowledge the fact that I'm a a customer there and that I need help considering that I have all these boxes in my hands... I don't normally write bad reviews but today was a very awful experience. I still bought the stuff I needed there for my son eventhough there was a part of me that didn't want to. At the cashier, the lady appeared to hand the brown bag to me so I placed all of my purchased stuff for her.. She later on realized that I did that for her but really??? Why will you hand the bag to me if u weren't expecting me to put the stuff inside the bag?? I really couldn't believe my experience here today. Im really disappointed. I don't ever want people to be treated that way. I was there not to look around but to purchase stuff so The experience was so frustrating. read more

I have been to Granola Babies both for shopping and for a class (Cloth Diapering 101) I absolutely love the new location of the store (SoCo Shopping Center) which is just a wonderful little center in itself with unique and intimate shops/restaurants. The Granola Babies store itself is bright, open, friendly and they have everything you could want to grow a green baby! The selection is wonderful and there is a cute little play area for the kids to play so mom can kind of shop in peace. It's great to support a locally owned (female owned!) business that has a positive impact on the community! A great place for natural and eco friendly baby items. Higher end products, perfect for gifts. I like that they offer several classes including baby wearing,breast feeding, and classes for mom's (postpartum, yoga, etc). Since there are so many parenting styles, it is impossible to "please everyone". Granola Babies offers services to parents without assuming we all parent in the same style. So if they offer some things that I don't really agree with, instead of being offended, I just appreciate that they are supporting all the different parenting styles out there. When my first child was born these types of baby items and natural parent support services were so hard to find. At Granola Babies there's something for everyone. read more
